Abuja – As the sectarian violence in the Central
African Republic (CAR) rages, the Federal
Government has perfected plans to evacuate 200
Nigerians in Bangui, the country’s capital.
The Chairman, House of Representatives
Committee on Foreign Affairs, Rep. Nnenna
Ukeje, disclosed this on Wednesday during a
live interview on NTA network news, in Abuja.
Ukeje said the 200 Nigerians were currently
taking refuge at the Nigeria Embassy in Bangui
and she put the official number of Nigerians
living in CAR at 30,000.
She said the committee had engaged the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National
Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to
immediately provide an aircraft for their
evacuation.
The legislator called for the establishment of a
department in the foreign ministry to respond
actively to crisis situations for Nigerians caught
up in flash-points abroad.
The Central African Republic had spiralled into
chaos after the rebel-leader-turned-president
Michel Djotodia overthrew President Francois
Bozize in March.
According to the UN, about 600 people have
been killed in less than two weeks while some
210,000 people have been forced from their
homes in the capital alone.
Earlier this month, the UN Security Council
authorised an African-led and French-backed
peacekeeping force to quell the spiralling
violence.
France has deployed 1,600 troops under the UN
mandate to help the African peacekeeping force

You are right,but the guy has already gone to Man city.All we have to do is support him,we all know Man city is not the best place for him but he will only need to work even harder.I personally would have love to see him play for Arsenal or Ajax.I believe he will settle more easily in England compared to Portugal,with the language barrier and stuff.South American players are known to be favorites in Portugal.

You all sound pessimistic. MOST ex-age grade players who ended in oblivion started with what you would call good clubs, going by your expectation of first team football. I think Chrisantus and Rabiu signed for Wolfsburg and Lisbon respectively. However, Mikel signed for Chelsea and is doing relatively well. An U-17 player (anywhere) is not expected to be a first team regular.
It may be too early, but I feel Kelechi Iheanacho is the best U-17 player we've seen in recent time in Nigeria, and possibly in the world. He has this confidence, skill and technique rarely seen for his age (I hope he is truly U-17).
I feel Mancity isn't too bad. They have a good youth program and top of the range training facilities and personnel he likely won't get at Porto. And don't forget, Messi got his debut in BARCELONA at 16, and the rest is history. Let's just pray for him not to give up or give in to distractions.
