Not really.. You will have to keep your ears to the ground for any information regarding their employments particularly after it has been published in the daily newspapers either online or offline.

Most lecturing jobs require you to have at least a B.Sc and an M.Sc and some publications.
Lecturing jobs typically do not write aptitude tests. They go direct for interviews where you will show them your credentials and publications (if any)

You missed the point actually. I did not say you were joking. I only said not in all cases and I went on to use myself as an example. Besides, there is no point in disquraging the guy from giving his best in the recruitment process.

I myself have had an unpleasant case where I did not get a federal government job simply because I did not have the right connections because I attempted three federal government jobs but was successful in two. The third one was where I performed the best because I emerged the best candidate in my entire state only for a well connected guy who was not even shortlisted to be offered the job.

But before I checked, I asked about his own status and he said he wasn't Shortlisted. When he said this, I instantly lost hope. Secondly, I heard exams/aptitude test would be next, but no date has been fixed yet. Does anyone know the Exact date?
Thirdly, what and what do I need to study ahead of the test?. What are the kind of questions involved? I was told it's Mathematics, English and current affairs. How true is this?
Lastly, how much is the salary for starters when you get a federal civil service job. I can see Grade Level 8 on the dashboard. Does this mean that if I succeed(by God's grace), I would start from level 8?

Regarding the type of questions you are likely to meet. Yes they are likely to ask you English, Mathematics and current affairs. If you applied for a specific discipline like Pharmacy, Engineering, medicine, law etc, you will meet additional questions relating to your discipline. In all of it, you will have to be fast in answering the questions as time may not be your friend (my experience ). In both cases, I was answering questions really fast just to answer as much questions as possible. The questions were objective questions (multiple choice) and one thing I know I did was to skip the ones I could not answer and go to the next question so as to cover as much as possible.

This was my personal experience sha and it is over a decade now and things could have changed. Whatever you do. Try to practice English, Mathematics and current affairs before going for the exams and best of luck
