In your example, your mother is Igbo and you are trying to run for governorship in Anambra. Absolutely not apples-to-apples. Chinedu Gbadebo being half Igbo is 100% Lagosian by virture of his ancestors being Lagosians. Chinedu Gbedebo not being Yoruba does not disqualify him from contesting as governor but he shot himself in the foot by:
* Constantly attacking the Yorubas on social media
* Never associating with the Yorubas
* Always pandaring to his Igbo roots and brandishing his Igbo names to the extent of taking Igbo titles and showing off and bragging all over the place with the Igbo titles and Igbo names
* Chinedu Gbadebo openly showed support for IPOB
* Chinedu Gbadebo is also married to an Igbo woman
* Always quick to use the derogatory and hateful slurs on Yorubas just to annnoy the Yorubas
* The only reason Peter Obi picked Chinedu Gbaebo is because of his Igbo roots because Chinedu Gbadebo was the 4th person on the Lp list as there were three Yorubas on that list that was presented to Peter Obi

Having stated the above, it is perfectly understandable if the Yorubas are not comfortable having such a character as governor of Lagos as he represents the Igbo take over of Lagos as the only reason Igbos supported him is because Gbadebo is partially Igbo and hates Yorubas because Gbadebo has a very very scanty CV without any tangible experience
