Tinubu repeated his muslim-muslim ticket because he desperately needs that Hausa-Fulani votes. Atiku got 6.9m votes despite contesting after 8 years of a Fulani Buhari. Tinubu no longer enjoys the kind of Northern support and sympathy that he enjoyed in the North in 2023. Tinubu has not significantly penetrated the South to make up for his lost Northern support. Infact, he is more popular in the North today than he is in the South, and that is saying a lot. Tinubu won with less than 2m votes margin. Now, factor all of these variables together and do the maths.
