By all means, please apply. Every case is different. Just take your time to write a convincing purpose of travel letter. Stress on the ties you have in Nigeria.
Thank you @slowlybtSurely

I run a business here as a side hustle and it's registered. Do you think this can add some support as per ties here in Nigeria? What can I submit to support the application as per the business?

Thank you.

Ok. We will give it a shot. Thanks a lot for the encouragement. My passport expires in December this year so I won't apply just yet. I understand they usually issue visas till expiration of your passport. I'll renew perhaps in July and give the application a shot.

Thanks again.

A friend was in that boat and was denied TRV severally with a reason that she had "immigrant intent" cos of the husband's status.

Have you considered going through the spousal route?
We will eventually. We just want to be able to visit at least for now.

Are you saying it's impossible to visit except we relocate permanently?

This is interesting. I don't know whether to try or not.

Letter of invitation from him will be an added advantage.

Yes letter of introduction will do and should also contain a permission to allow her travel outside Nigeria to visit her daddy.
Thanks a bunch. I'll do as advised. My daughter has an American passport so I'm really the one that needs to apply. I'll just indicate on the application that she's coming with me.

God bless.

Your profile looks good for a successful application.

Your hubby needs to send you the data page of his Canadian passport, proof of accommodation, bank statement and payslips (if he is sponsoring)

You need to include your daughter's bigrth certificate, marriage certificate, employment letter, bank statement, payslips and family pictures preferably those pictures taken during those meetings with your hubby in USA.

If your daughter is in school then it helps to include her school papers.
Thank you for the response @justwise. I really appreciate. I have a copy of his PR card and data page of his passport. I also have loads of pictures we took in the US and here in Nigeria so not a problem.

I'll be paying for the trip so I"ll be using my own documents to support the application. Do I need a letter of invitation from him?

Also what kind of documentation do I need from my daughter's school? A letter of introduction? Do i need to give them a guide on what the letter should contain?

Thanks a lot.

Hello all, just found this thread and I must say I'm extremely impressed with the level of information sharing here. Thanks all for doing such a great job of guiding people trying to visit Canada.

Ok so my hubby is a Canadian PR who lives and works in Canada and I live here in Nigeria with our daughter. We would like to apply for a TRV so we can visit when on holiday. (He does the visiting for now or we meet up in the US). We intend to come back because we're actually not ready to relocate to Canada fully just yet.

I have a good job here and can afford to pay for the trip. I have travel history and I've been to Canada before but I was still single then. Tried renewing but was refused on grounds of purpose of visit 2013. (I was visiting a friend) I didn't bother to reapply since then.

Please advise on how to approach this. Is there anyone who has a spouse in Canada and was able to get a TRV? How did you go about it?

Thanks.

Hello all,

I just started reading through the thread and it's amazing all the information here. I'm glad I found it. My case is a bit unique so I will need all the advice i can get please.

My husband is already a PR in Canada, lives and works there but he does not qualify to sponsor at the moment due to a few factors, so I want to explore the EE if I qualify.

I guess this means I'm applying "without spouse" when ranking myself on the CRS. Do i get any extra/bonus points as a result of him being a PR?

I'd really appreciate your advice.

Thank you so much.
