This was done because they felt that the British would hand over power to them, because they see themselves as being more educated and advanced. It was until after, they lost out in the power play and power was handed over to the north that the Igbos and Zik started singing a new tune. They started opposing one Nigeria. But when Ironsi took over power in 1966, he destroyed even the loose confederacy the British left and imposed a unitary one Nigeria. We did not hear complaints from Zik and the igbos then.

In anger someone may say: I will kill you but that does not mean that he is going to do so, so we overlook what folks say in anger. If that is the case why go after the man for saying what he probably said in anger and did not mean?

If Mr. Ariyo is not a medical specialist, a cardiologist Igbos probably would not have gone after him. If he was a laborer they probably would have ignored his alleged statements. They went after him because of their desire to destroy a successful medical practitioner.

They see a successful Yoruba medical practitioner, a man doing what most of them could not do and want to destroy him.

I think every yoruba and hausa person should listen to one radio broadcast of radio biafra so much hate speech there. When I came in new into this Nairaland, the politics forum was always flooded with issue-based threads and arguments.
But ever single a closet-islamist, Muslim drunkard, ultra-tribalistic foul-language egghearder invaded the forum with its anti-igbo posts, with another hatred-in-arms bluetooth2 things changed. And this forum has not ever been the same again after a horrible period of pictures flying around.
This particular period we have at present is the worst. We are fed nothing but anti-igbo threads all over, all the time. Last time I checked, the Igbo tribe was just one of the over 250 tribes in Nigeria, so why is it the only tribe much talked about, much maligned and most hated.
Surprisingly, yours faithfully, was given an unfair and unjustifiable ban a couple of weeks ago with a blatant message " a moderator banned meforyou1 for ethnic bashing" nobody on this wide earth has informed me till this day which post or posts led to that or which moderator.
I Have Also Since Decided to keep my posts clean of ethnic bashings, but even a thousand bans can't stop defending me my motherland and fatherland.
