Hello,

although your question wasn't directed at me specifically but I could be of help if wouldn't mind. U don't have to pay another money to Nursing Council of Nigeria for another verification, the one with CGFNS will suffice. And if I got you right, u said your CES report has already been issued by CGFNS, if that's the case, all u need to do now is to wait for TBON to send u ATT, u don't even need to contact them for that, they will do the needful.

I hope that helps!

Rubygrace:
Hello Barbiee,

Thank you for this. I just got my CES report from CGFNS and i registered for Texas, now i don't know what step to follow, a colleague of mine said i have to register with Texas board of nursing and get my finger print ready which i am aware of but she said that i have to pay another money to Nursing council Nigeria for another Verification and that is not sitting pretty with me, kindly advise on what to do. I thought CGFNS already has that(verification)

Thank you.

thanks for the reply.please can you put me through on how to go about the Philippine route. Thanks
Philippine route is the best bet for we Nigerians for now as India is beginning to do Nigerians 'shakara' for reasons best known to them.
You send the Philippine embassy an email, they will reply with the application forms, download and fill the forms. do a police finger print clearance (u can do that at Alagbon in Lagos).

Get to the embassy of the Philippine in Maitama, Abuja (relocated from Gwarinpa, now at Maitama) with the originals and photocopies of your ATT, Int'l passport, bank statement, hotel and flight reservations, and Passport photograph (photocopy not needed) on a convenient day for your brief visa interview but ensure u get to the embassy before 9am to avoid being rescheduled for another day. Visa fee is N15,000 plus. That's all!

Note, others' inputs are welcome.

All the best!

hello sir. Please how much did you pay for Nclex in India and how much is visa fees to India?
Lemme help u answer this. He paid the usual $350; $200 for nclex reg and $150 for international test centre fee. U pay that fee to schedule for the test outside the US. The person u referred your question to paid the India visa fee from UAE, so I wouldn't know the specific amount he paid for it over there but the official India visa fee from Nigeria is $252. I hope that helps.
Take care.

Lautechgossip:
Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) has been ranked as the best private university in Nigeria dethroning Covenant University, Otta who has been maintaining the position for a long while.

In the July ranking of world universities, the latest by leading researcher webometrics based in Spain, ABUAD is also ranked number 2 Best University among all Federal, state and private universities and polytechnics numbering about 278.

The institutions were rated based on their presence, impact, openness and excellence. ABUAD was rated next to the University of Ibadan as the overall best in the country.

Trailing ABUAD is Covenant University, Ota as the private-run varsity and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

ABUAD was registered in November 2009 by renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and educationist, who as the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Lagos from 2001 to 2007 successfully reformed the university which was ranked No. 1 University in Nigeria in. He was also awarded the Best Pro-Chancellor award by the National University Commission (NUC).

His decision to establish ABUAD was borne out of his personal experience garnered from the decay in the education system.

The varsity was founded to be a practical example of how problems militating against the growth of varsities can be solved and lead others in quality and functional education.

In its eight years of existence, ABUA is reputed as the fastest growing university in Africa.

Its College of Law was acknowledged as the Best College of Law in West Africa by the NUC and its College of Engineering was described by the Nigeria Society of Engineering (NSE) as the Template for Engineering Education in the country.

The College has won global awards in London and United States of America (USA).

ABUA recently inaugurated an ultra-modern teaching hospital with latest teaching equipment. Health Minister Prof Isaac Adewole described the facility as the best of its kind in this part of the world which would put an end of medical tourism in the country.

In 2015, the University of London in appreciation of his contribution to Law and Education awarded Aare Afe Babalola LL.D Degree

Hello Goodevening All

If you facing the issue of no travel history from america embassy or any other embassy, you could try visiting kenya and tanzania this holiday/summer period.

A simple case of using one stone to catch multiple chicks and the HEN

With a Kenya e-visa you could get a visa on arrival on Kenya/Tanzania border to visit tanzania, single entry though.

if you want a comprehensive travel plan/guide/budget for this travel you can mention me and i forward to your mail. Completely free

This is a Kenya/Tanzania travel/budget plan i drew up myself, it is only meant to guide you financially and tour wise.

This are for individual as well as for family going for summer holidays with their kids

Do not allow any travel agent put a visa on your passport, that would be the beginning of your travel problem

Feel free to ask your questions on this thread if i together we can make travel easier and who knows, when we start travelling right the international body might start seeing us in good light.

Please, which board of nursing in US does not require English proficiency test apart from Texas. Also, how can one pay for cgfns evaluation?

If u wish, u may try Illinois. Find attached requirements guide for Illinois.

U can pay for CGFNS evaluation through your Mastercard (Naira or Dollar).

Thank you.

I suggest you hold off on paying for the expedite service until you are sure that all your documents have been received by CGFNS.
If any of your documents is found to be inadequate (as is common with CGFNS lately), tdocuments are satisfactorilyhe fee you paid for the expedite process may turn out to be a waste since the process of rectifying any errors will definitely cause delays that defeats the purpose of the expedite process.
If you don't mind my asking, why do you want to expedite your review process?

You are very correct Sir. He can only expedite after all the documents are satisfactorily received by cgfns and by that time, the estimated wait time is almost over even without expediting it. That's my take!

He's not an RN. He's a physiotherapist. However, the immigration process follows the same pattern. Some people were fortunate to go through uscis without delays. Having a BSN or Diploma had no impact on approvals. For instance, I have a friend with an MSc who passed nclex in Dec 2016 and they filed for her at the end of January 2017. She got denied and they are refiling for her. Another person with diploma passed nclex at the end of March 2017 and they filed in May 2017. She's going for her visa interview next week. I have seen someone with a diploma that passed nclex in May 2017 who got his visa last month.
These persons started with Avant from the scratch. Avant started massive filing in February and there have been very good feedbacks. This morning, a friend informed me that she has been approved after 3 weeks of filing. Let's hope the momentum continues.
Avant does not typically use NC. The commonly use CT, TX, CO, NM
Anytime I read inputs from people like auschris and iyiman and others who have successfully crossed d hurdles and still find out time out of their tight schedules to help their fellow countrymen see their dreams come true, I'm always encouraged and feel challenged to do same in my own little capacity to help others.

@auschris, u are a born leader and a mentor equipped with a rare quality to see others succeed. My respect for u is beyond expression. I just rememberd d day u put a call thru to me, all in an effort to see your fellow countryman whom u knew not from Adam succeed.

Sir, keep up the good work. God will surely reward u in due time if u faint not.

well am happy for you , i encountered that too with avant and i was able to sort out that by mailing the person attached to my case as well as copying the person in charge of avant immigration , also my process for i140 took about a month to get approved , reasons best known to them, but bear in mind it can take long for premium process now because of work load at uscis ,also they might take a week to respond to your mail at avant because of the same work load , i hope this is helpful and will like to communicate with u as well .

@kfash, pls I have these few questions 4 u in order to clear some grey areas in my mind:

1.) When was your I140 filed? I noticed it was approved at once.

2.) Did u apply with a BNSc or Nursing Diploma?

3.) At what stage did u sign up with avant? Was it before u wrote n passed ur nclex or after? Perhaps u did all the nclex/bon/ielts palaver yourself b4 signing up with avant.

4.) What BON did u use? NC?

Thank you as u provide answers to the above.

I applied with a nursing diploma (doubly qualified) with about 6 years continuous clinical experience. I don't think the i-140 has got anything to do with whether an application is filed with a nigerian nursing degree or diploma. The important thing is that i have an active US RN license with supposedly a job offer and evidence that employer can pay.

I am wont to know if this recent development is peculiar to AVANTS or other agencies are affected. Any info with respect to this would be appreciated.

Thanks for your kind words.

It's well.

Strive to stay positive.

It will surely end in praise for all of us!

Thanks.

AVANT apologized profusely. They said it was due to 'lack of leadership at the uscis'. My understanding from their mail was that there may have been some changes in immigration rule. They are to get some documentation sorted (i think Dept of labour doc or so) with uscis after which they would reapply for me. I also got to understand most of their application were denied, but i don't know if its avant only that is affected. They have not reverted to say when they are applying for me or specific timelines they are working with (very unlike AVANT).

I'm just so drained emotionally now. I'm seriously thinking of cbt. Its far less stressful

Just an advise to any nurse having emigration dreams..until you get ur visa/travel documents PLS DON'T QUIT YOUR JOB OR STUDIES, cos if the whole thing goes south you would have deep regrets.

Once again, it's well with you. You are a winner come what may!

Thanks for the advice for other intending immigrant nurses in the house.

If u wouldn't mind, I want to ask if your I-140 was filled with a BSn or Nursing diploma? Just trying to figure out what the problem could probably be at the I-140 stage and to see how we (others) can avoid this disappointment if it is something we can avoid. Or is the problem peculiar to avant because I'm still as much bewildered as you are.

Even if you are going to try out the UK route, never still quit the US process since u are already licensed. At worst, you get another agent to file for u. It's never a closed case at all. Pls don't give up too easily on this. I can have a feel of what you are passing through right now, all the same, don't give up to the disappointment. My personal opinion! Let others give their own contributions pls.

Thank you.

Colleagues,

I'm an NCLEX holder with a Colorado board license sponsored by AVANTS..Just received news my I-140 was denied and i really feel frustrated and unsure of my next steps. I'm thinking of putting in for CBT and forgetting the US thingy altogether (put in 18months to get here with avants). You guys think its a good idea.

Honestly im an emotional reck these days after hearing the news of my denial. I can't say im in the best mind frame to make a sound decision. PLEASE SOMEONE TALK TO ME!

This isn't a good news I must confess but all the same, you should look beyond the defeat and fire on.

Remember, an heavy weight Boxing champion emerged as a winner not because he did not receive any punch from his opponent in the boxing ring but because he refused to succumb and give up the fight after receiving those punches in the boxing ring. Persistence they said is the rule of the game. So, take this defeat as one of those punches.

I felt the same way you are feeling now when Canada denied me after a very long wait.

Never give up and set your eye on the goal at the finishing line. You will surely succeed!

It is well.

Cool. So my timing was on the mark!

Like you, I got an email from cgfns.

BUT

Still struggling with CGFNS verification.

They queried the documentation sent by the council.

The problems have to do with the nursing council back home having a policy of attaching their transcript to CGFNS documentation instead of filling the documentation the CGFNS sends.

I just hope you don't end up facing the same trouble.

Once that is cleared will be able to take the NCLEX exam

Hello, great minds!

These questions are for all that have successfully gone past cgfns credentialing stage.

1.) The combined results I'm currently using are not from the secondary school I attended. Reason being that, I had a deficiency in a subject in my secondary school NECO exams. I took two other WAEC external exams which gave me the grades that I needed in all my relevant subjects. Since I can't combine both NECO and WAEC, hence, the need to abandon my secondary school NECO result. I am now at the cgfns stage, the question is, what do I fill for my secondary school records? I don't feel comfortable filling my secondary school since I have no result to submit from there except my testimonial. And if I have to use the two later results, how do I fill the school since one of the exams was WAEC externals. I only had a centre where I wrote the exams. Please what do I do next? An urgent and sincere response will be highly appreciated.

2.) For all that experienced one delay or the other at the cgfns credentialing stage (sorry about that). Kindly tell us what we need to do or not to do (the 'dos' and the 'don'ts') at this stage in order to avoid your mistakes and errors that led to the delay. Note, the errors/mistakes may not even be your own making, may be from the SON/NMCN. Kindly tell us what we need to do right in order not to be a victim of avoidable errors and delays.

Thank you

Good evening great minds in the house,

My questions are for @IYIMAN and other fellows that have passed the embassy interview stage;

1.) I want to ask if NVC will request for any document from me or from any of family members accompanying me (that is, husband and child) before my interview is scheduled.

2.) On the interview day at the embassy, will my husband also be interviewed or only me as a principal applicant?

Thank you as u give a sincere response.

Unpredictable. You have 3 months standard waiting/submission time. Your report can be ready a month after that 3 month, making four months. Some have had it delayed for longer. But my experience with New York, it's 6 months after your documents are complete (to get report across to board) after your 3 months with cgfns. A colleague used New mexico BON, instead of Cgfns, he used ERES and got report submitted within 6weeks. Everything took only 2 months.

I want to commend your prompt and timely response on this forum. You are one of the few people keeping this forum alive n going. Thumb up!
