The problem with Igbos is that they force their identity on others.Which be Ika-Igbo again?

Explain something for me. I can understand if some migrants travelled a far distance to settle somewhere else, lost contact with their ancestral land, developed or adopted the culture and language of where they settled. What I dont under is why migrants would travel a very short distance just to do the same

Agbor is just nextdoor to Edo state, has boundary with other Edo tribes. So why are Agbor people speaking Ika-Igbo language? Why does the King of Agbor, Ikechukwu Keagborekuzi, have an Igbo name and surname? Why did these Bini/Esan people travel such a short distance to drop their Bini names and language?

Ika is part of Igbo. Just like yoruba land, Igbo has different dialets. Tribes in Edo state speak completely different from Ika languages.

Yes the boundary there will be some mix up definitely, but in major towns its pure Igbo. Like Umunede, Igbodo and the rest.

I have been to many of the villages. If you don't understand Igbo you may not find it easy to stay there.

Some Ika people have serious identity crisis which is getting worse by the day. Some Ika's say they are Bini's due to ancestry. Some others say Ika is a 'distinct' ethnic group, which is a lie because to be distinct, you must have your own distinct language. Then there are Ika's who have since accepted that they are Igbos. I feel for all people who have identity crisis, it must be soul destroying not knowing who you are.

In Igbodo today they speak two languages,Ika and one Enu-ani language like that but,it happened because the aborignal Ikas of Igbodo accepted some aniocha people to settle among them and due to closeness to aniocha people.

In Ekpon today,the people are too mixed because the Ika people there allowed and intermarry too much with esan peopl,for that reason they speak both Ika and esan.. ..

This matter too deep for Igbos to understand.We Ikas have more blood relationship with benins and Esans than with Igbos.
