DareFadi: I always recommend you sticking to schools within your budget or finding GA before you leave. While student are allowed 20hours on campus , it is not in every case that you will see a job or if you see it might take a while . So great if you find a job but plan to see how you can get finances as backup, incase you dont get an oncampus job ... On campus 20hours would probably cover your rent (depending on how expensive the city is) and living expenses.
If you expect it to also cover half of your tuition, the struggle will be too much . You spend a lot of productive hours feeling very sad and depressed or drop out ...... Whether people find alternative way to work (maybe) but i cannot comment on that way as me no sabi that waka .
Regarding documents needed , it will be the usual requirement to get an i20 released.
Send me a pm I already sent you a pm it said you need to accept |

DareFadi: It been answered before ...... Let me copy and paste previous response
Yes you can transfer after getting the visa to another school (provided you have admission offcourse) . Best to start it after you cross POE
The process usually is that you notify the current school's international office of your intention to transfer. The current school adviser will then have to transfer your SEVIS record to the New School with a transfer out date given. Until that transfer is done then new school cannot issue you a new I-20 (F-1 status).
You would be expected to fill out a new i-20 request form in the new school and once transfer is done and you get the new i20 then off you go .
The key to transfer is that your current school should release your SEVIS to the new school…If they don’t for whatever reason then hummmm you have a problem . If they do then, it is not complicated process Thanks for the response. i do appreciate. what are the documents that i will require for this process and how soon does it takes. i wish to study in my school but since they said one cant work outside school and above 20hrs with the f1 i am so confused cus i was hoping to finance my studies with my side ways hustle.... if there is anyone that can help with this change of school OR have another idea on getting job outside please pm me for confidentiality purpose.. thanks |

Congrats ... i pray for a short smooth interview in sha Allah.. Please are you going for health care management MBA rosasparks: I had to join Nairaland to post my transcript because I've been reading everything from part 2 and the amount of confidence I gained from reading and analyzing transcripts really helped me with my interview. My interview was this morning. 9am appointment at Abuja consulate. My visa was approved and no documents were asked. The interview was quite short.
VO: Please come forward ma'am. I like your dress. Me: *smiles* Thank you VO: So you're going to UConn? Me: That's correct VO: What do you want to be in the future? Me: I want to be a health management consultant. I understand that majority of the problems we face in our health sector in Nigeria is as a result of poor management... VO: *cuts me off* Who's paying for this? Me: My father VO: What does he do? Me: He's a recently retired manager in Bleep oil company, but he's on monthly pension which is the same as his salary. VO: What oil company again? Me: Bleep oil company VO: Okay so do you have any siblings currently studying in the US Me: *pauses for a second* Yes, I have a sister who's on F-1 VO: What exactly does she do right now? Me: She's on OPT, working with Bleep VO: Ma'am your visa has been approved. You'll need this to pick your passport.
Thank you guys so much and keep up the amazing work. |

Thanks BRO....i got offer for MBA in health care management. DareFadi: Its always best to have enough money if not the venture of having money issues abroad is no joke oooo (u will enter depression fast with little support system, even the worry when u then become out of status ) .
What school did you get admission into ??.
Each school differ, some have many opportunities for on-campus job and some you dont see at all. Also some programs have opportunities for GA after one year or some NEVER , the school dont give on kobo in financial aid to international student ........ DO some more research into what opportunities for international student the school has
Also when choosing a school think about life after f1 visa ........ If it is MBA , better go to a well ranked program or else you wont see a good job (no company will file H1b for just any MBA ). I know some will say but we all plan to come home but its good to gain some work experience |

Please i need to know if there is any hope for my survival with this dollar exchange rate increased. Thanks |

OMG ... dramaka: In other news, let's see what the official exchange rate is as recognized internationally at the moment. We should be keenly watching this. |
