Why is IRCC delaying our good news like this? It doesn't make sense any more.

I know IRCC will be finalizing my family's application today. My only prayer is, God pls let it be positive pls pls pls.

Please Gurus in the house I greatly need your help, regarding my Sowp application I was asked for proof of relationship with my spouse in terms of pictures,proof of communication,marriage certificate etc
The issue now is all documents and information are ready but how do we Name each file i.e place pictures in group(pre and post marriage ) and name them,also how do we compress the file too, because the pictures are really taking large space

For the photos, you can use an android photo merging App to collate the pictures and then scribble on top or below each photo so that whoever is zooming in to view the photos will be able to see the description added. For example, see the attached photo I added below.

For compression, after you're done compiling everything, stilll use your android phone to do the compression. You'll have to combine a number of compressing methods to get the quality and size you want. Some of the Apps I recommend are "Xodo PDF Reader and Editor" and "PDF Utils: Merge, Split, Edit." If you use Xodo to compress, Open the document, click on the three dots menu on the top right, click Save a Copy, Reduc file, Smaller file, Advanced, change if greater than 225 DPI to 90, change the second one to 75. Then save.

This might seem useless (it might not even work) but I've seen it work on two different occasions: Considering that their reason for refusal isn't something serious or damaging, please write a well-worded, cordial letter to the processing office, challenging their reasons for refusal, and explaining your Purpose of Visit in line with a temporary stay, making them see you and your spouse's intention and plan to leave Canada at the end of his legally assigned stay in Canada. The only thing is, considering he/she has 6 months left in his study permit, I don't know if it's reasonable to mention his intentions to apply for a Postgraduate Work Permit.

It seems the Open Work Permits application is domiciled under the International Mobility Program. I have seen someone else's previous SOWP refusal worded exactly the same way.

Please apply for GCMS note. I think there are only about three or four reasons IRCC sometimes refuse an SOWP:

1. Financial inadequacy

2. Unconvincing evidence of marital relationship (such as for newlyweds)

3. If your SOP indicates you intend to remain in Canada as a PR after your SOWP expires (Note that in terms of purpose of visit, double intent is absolutely legitimate as per IRCC's own laws, but some of their reviewing officers are just not open-minded)

4. Falsification of documents (which I don't think any sensible applicant will do)


Whichever case it is, please don't lose hope, don't stop fighting. Prepare your documents again, tackle the problem and reapply.

I just received a refusal for my SOWP...IRCC stated that I did not meet the requirements for the "International Mobility Program"

I am a bit confused because I applied for SOWP or is it the same thing as International Mobility program.

Please someone should help with an answer coz I'm really confused

To God be the Glory great things he has done for my Family. Our PPR has landed and we are super excited.

We are family of 5, my husband left for Canada early September 2022 and we waited for him to stay 3 months before we put in our application.

We submitted application for SOWP for me and 3 visit visas for our 3 children ages 8, 6, and 2. Our PPR dropped this morning 28th of February 2023.

Our Timelines
Confirmation of online submission - 30th November 2022
Biometrics completed for me - 6th December 2022
We did upfront medical on the 22nd of November 2022 and was passed on the 25th of January 2023

Eligibility didn't start until we received PPR this morning.

Marriage Certificate
Family pictures with the children
Letter of invitation by husband

Another week is gone without any feedback from IRCC. This is so crazy. Are these people just waiting until they hear that one's marriage has finally broken down due to over a year of not seeing each other? Can't IRCC just try and understand what we are going through? Must they waste their time drinking coffee while pretending to be reviewing applications? I feel so overwhelmingly sad right now. The depression is crushing.

Hubby left for Canada December 2021 while I was 3 months pregnant for my second child...we wanted to apply for my SOWP and Visitor Visa for my first Son but there was huge delay in SOWP application...so we concluded I give birth first before applying....my baby was 3 months when I submitted application
Application submitted Sept 2nd
Biometrics Sept 4th
Medical Request for all 3 Jan 26th
PPR for all 3 ,February 13th

IRCC's next website update/upgrade is scheduled to occur on the 9th. I believe your husband's PPR will drop with it. Lol...

So they fly passports to nairobi everyday and back? I doubt that because nairobi is more than 6hrs flight

IRCC website indicates that of the four Government of Canada offices in Nigeria (Abuja, Lagos, Lagos, and Port Harcourt), Abuja is the only one that performs passport services. So every passport sent to Abuja and Lagos are stamped in Abuja, which is to say that Abuja does the stamping on behalf of the processing office in Nairobi.

It's PPR for my 2 kids VV o but my husband's SOWP not yet out.

Applied for VV for my hubby and kids in January, refused on 8th of March. Applied for VV for my kids and SOWP for hubby on April 28th, approved today 26th of July.

I don't think your being inside Canada implies that your application is being submitted from inside Canada. It would've been so if your wife is in Canada already, for instance, on a visit visa. But since she's still in Nigeria and will do her biometrics and medical in Nigeria, the application statutorily falls under "Outside Canada" submission.

Note that this is just what I think; IRCC might say otherwise, dunno.

Please I need clarification regarding the process for applying for Spousal work permit from inside Canada. I am currently working in Canada and would like to apply for a spousal work permit (SOWP) for my spouse who is in Nigeria. The IRCC guidelines states that I can submit the application from inside Canada since I have a valid open work permit. I am however confused as to how this works since my spouse is actually outside Canada. (1) If I submit the application from inside Canada, Will my partner be able to complete their biometrics and medicals in Nigeria? Please advise. Thank you.
