Greetings to all the gurus in the house.

Please I intend to apply for Uk visa by February 2014, this is to enable me run my accounts properly cos at the moment there are high activities in my personal savings account which i cannot account for. I will be using my salary account and personal savings account. Please if I print 5months statement for my savings account and 6months for my salary account does it matter?

Secondly, I own a bus which i gave out on a hire puchase with monthly delivery of 100,000 from the driver. Please can I use the vehicle particulars and copy of agreement reached with the driver as part of documents to support my application since the driver pays into my account on monthly basis. NOTE: The cash comes instalmentally atimes but must complete 100k at the end of every month (shown in my statement of account)

Justwise,Vicjustice, funkybaby and other advisers in the house, Kindly assit.

wola44: Explain to ECO that the money is ur upfront ( very important ) . Also inform the ECO about money from different people is loan or cooperative stuff.
Thanks for your advice Wola44, but someone said its illegal to grant loan (europe-france) to people unregistered. I actually want to apply for France.

More light pls

funkybaby: you are welcome.

i am not too sure about the timing. you need to check the embassy's website to find out the average processing time. you also need to book an appointment (not sure if that has changed) and getting available dates can be an hassle (not sure if it's easier now).
Funkybaby, I quite appreciate your swift response to all my enquiries. Remain blessed.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by sundyke107: 1:11pm On Oct 10, 2013
funkybaby: just make sure the ticket and hotel reservation are fully refundable if you decide to cancel and you get a full refund back.

you have to book/plan ahead and also consider the processing time for french visas.
Okay. thanks for your assitance/contributions. I intend to travel 1st week of March, hence will be submitting latest January 28, 2014. How so you see the timing Funkybabay?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by sundyke107: 12:37pm On Oct 10, 2013
funkybaby: you should also include your employment offer letter... this should show the breakdown of your wages, benefits, bonuses, etc.

so the ECO will understand all the lump credit transfers made by your employer.
Thanks so much Funkybaby. I will keep you abreast as I progress. One more question: I learnt for schegen visa, I will pay for air ticket, hotel accomodation etc. my question is what happens to the paid air ticket/accomodation if I am denied visa?

Regards.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by sundyke107: 12:12pm On Oct 10, 2013
funkybaby: okay. makes sense.

if you avoid any further lump payment like the 195k between now and January, you should be fine.

just run both accounts decently.

so basically, you anticipate presenting two account statements. 1)500k closing balance 2)1.2m closing balance? right?

have you considered the cost of the france trip?

return tickets, insurance and hotel booking? these three especially the ticket and insurance must be paid for in full prior to your application.

schegen visas are not difficult to obtain. what puts most people off are the associated initial cost and the fact that most of the schengen courntries are non-english speaking. also, some schengen courntries (not france) issue tourist visas valid for as little as 4days even though you have previous travel history (i am talking from my own personal experience).
Yea, 500k closing bal for my personal acct and 1.2m closing bal for my salary account. I hope the eco wont see the upfront+other bonus as lump deposit. Nevertheless, our Human Resources will issue letter and payslips indicating all the deposits i mean the salary accoutnt.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by sundyke107:
funkybaby: wheres the 195k coming from ? is it money from your employer or from your side runs?

what will be your closing balance as at the time you print your bank statement?

the account with 500k closing balance... is that going to be your new account or your present account?

are you submitting one or two statements?
The 195k is part of my side runs. The 500k will be my present account. I will be using 2 statements ie the present and my salary acct. which will have abt 1.2m after all my bonus+upfront is paid by January.

Going forward I wont deposit huge amount more than 50k into the present account to avoid suspicion.

funkybaby: honestly, its tricky....especially if you intend using that statement for a self-sponsored UK visit visa. there's too much going on in that account. it would have been a totally different issue if you were applying as business man and not as a full time employee.

if i were in your shoes, i would get the side biz done from another account.

if you had a registered business, then it would have been okay to disclose to the ECO that you operate a 'credit union' but since you do not have one, then do not mention it.

Thanx so much Funkybaby, I will heed to your advice. Going forward, I will use another account for my side biz. I wil package for France instead of UK since the later requires only 3months statement. See below my transaction history from October2 - 9th:

Please if I sustain transactions on this account in the above order will it suffice then create another account for the loan stuff as advised. I intend to grow the closing balance up to 500k till January ending when i will print for the visa...this is outside the 1.2m that will be in my salary account by then, broken into Upfront 874k medicals 140k, leave allowance 50k, 13th month 185k, xmas rice 24k. Please what's the possibility of getting visa with this statement of account?

I wait your usual positive response.

funkybaby: i do not understand the 'illegality' you are talking about.

loan sharks/pay loan companies(most 100% owned by individuals) are all over the UK and it is a thriving business. until very recently, they were left fairly unregulated and stricter regulation wont kick in till 2014.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24372134

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Payday_loans_in_the_United_Kingdom

the only difference between you and them is that you do not have a registered business/'shop' that people can come in transact business, neither are you paying taxes on the interest you've earned.

if my colleague or friend comes to me to borrow him 100,000 and i decide to charge him an extra 10percent in interest, how's that illegal? it is my money and he needs a favour. if he is not happy with it, he can 'waka pass'. this 'payday loan' business is gradually kicking off in Nigeria with individuals lending to businesses to fund LPOs, etc and they charge interest. The banks are not willing to lend to individuals/small businesses, so it is not unusual for individuals like yourself to help others for a 'profit'.

regarding the money coming in and out of your account, it is really hard to judge without seeing your bank statement. is the money from the same set of individuals every month or different random individuals? does your account balance drop really low before the money from your debtors come in? for example, do you have say 20k left in you account as at the 20th of september and then by the 30th, you get a credit of 150k from Mr Ali leaving you with a balance of 170k and then you lend Mrs John 140k on the 2nd October leaving you with 30k till you get paid your wages?

i honestly believe in keeping things simple and avoiding anything that would raise a red flag which is why i suggested you do your side runs from another bank account

Yes, the inflow/outflow is as examplified above. Please do I stand a chance with such account statement? Is there a better way to explain the inflow/outflow to the ECO in terms of source of the fund since I am not a registered financial dealer hence no receipts to tender. I dont want to mention the loan to the ECO since Vicjustice said its illegal in europe and in view of the fact that I now want to apply for France instead of UK Visa as earlier planned.

Please more light. Rgds
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by sundyke107: 8:43am On Oct 10, 2013
funkybaby: 1.5m is a fairly decent amount if you are travelling alone

The random transactions(depositors with different names) in your account due to your loan shark side runs may raise a red flag. I don't know how frequent these transactions are. If they are frequent, then you are better off opening a seperate bank account and carrying out your runs from there. Whatever proceeds (interest) from your side runs can then be transferred back into your salary account.

That said....Are you going as a tourist or family visitor?

Me thinks france is wayyyy easier than that of UK. As long as you have all your docs..(Nothing dodgy), return ticket, necessary letter from a reputable employer, insurance, hotel booking as well asa well written intineary on all the tourist attractions you want to visit there, you will be approved. With the UK visa, there's too much objectively attached to how the ECOs review applications.
Dear Funkebaby, trust you are doing great. I intend to travel as a tourist. The transactions usually occur @ the end of every month and ranges from 30 -150k. Please does it really matter since the cash goes in an out? If it matters, is there a better way of explaining the inflow/outflow cos I ustand that giving out loan for interest is illegal in europe.

Please assist.

Vicjustice: If only you knew that this type of loan or "contribution" is criminal in Europe, you wouldn't have even been thinking of making mention of it
Dear Vicjustice, Please is there a better explanation u think I can foster for high activities in my personal account as a result of loan/interest liquidation into my account?

I will be submitting by January ending to France precisely. However, my upfront (874,000) 185,000 13th plus my january salary (89,000) which means I will be having 1.1m in my salary account and currently i have 300k in my personal account which I intend to increase to 500k by December. I intend to travel alone but my question is: What is my chances with the above financial position?

Please I need your candid advise.

I have only travelled to Dubai in 2011. Please do you think I have a chance considering my account history as stated earlier?

how much do you think would be your closing bank account balance as at the time you intend applying?

do you have previous travel history?

i think you are better off applying for the france visa first before applying for that of UK[/quote]

Please I forget to add that as per lending cash out to people, I dont have documents (receipts) to back it up. I only collect postdated cheques(collateral) from my clients which i hand over to them upon liquidation appropriate liquidation of the loan. Note the loan is usually for period of 1-2months.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by sundyke107: 4:52pm On Oct 09, 2013
Good afternoon gurus in the house (Vicjustice,Justwise, Funkybaby etc. I quite appreciate the good work you guys are doing here.

Please i need your advise as per UK Visa

I work with a subsidiary of Nigerian Stock Exchange. My upfront is 874,000 per annum payable to me every January. My take home per month after upfront is 89,000. I took a loan last year which reduced the take home to 63,000 per month, but just finished repaying the loan last month. I will be earning 89,000 a month till january 2014 when another upfront (874,000) is paid.

My 13th month bonus is 185,000 payable mid next month. Then by January ending, I will be receiving 150,000 as medical support. I have 208,000 in my cscs account (shares). I currently have 470, 000 in my personal account and 66,000 in my salary account both with First Bank. Aside these bonus,upfront/salary, I engage in lending cash to fellow staff and small scale biz men/women on 5-10% interest rates which brings about heavy activities in my account. Will the high activities in my account be seen as money lodgement? I have only travelled to Dubai in 2011.

Actually, i intend to apply for France visa but a friend advised I apply for UK first and thereafter apply for France.

I want to apply for 7days tourist visa by 2014, January ending. I got married in July.

Please what's chances of my getting Uk visa considering the above income status? Please I need your assistant.

What's this one saying...people like you will never see anything good in another man's adventure. Its high time we learn to appreciate our own and encourage good gesture. If the news had read "Peter Obi embezzled 6.5b" u will ve been happier.

In one of Uba's campaign i was amazed the way he appreciated Obi's achievements which does not in any way mean Obi is flawless contrary to others like Mopolchi who sees only the bad and the ugly.

I admonish you to visit Anambra state and see things your self other than posting thrash from your hideout in Okokomaiko.

Thanks to our ameable Governor. For years to come our children born and unborn will ever remain grateful of your reign in Anambra state. BTW Obi might not be the best Governor in Nigeria but as far as infrastructural development is concerned, he is a figure to recon with. He talk less and do more which in my opinion should be adopted by other state Govs. I was in Anambra State for my traditional marriage/wedding and was impressed with the number of roads and other structures put in place by Obi's administration. We deserve more of icons like Peter Obi to move Nigeria forward. Once more, ride on my pragmatic Governor!!!

I am happy to be an Anambrarian from Ichi in Ekwusigo LGA.

Political prostitution is becoming a norm in Nigeria....All for personal interests. Believe me, all the political class from the President to the sweeper are all after their personal interests. In 2008, I engaged some of my friends in an argument that: "One day a sucidal group will rise up in the country maiming innocent souls cold blooded" we now have Boko Haram, Ombashe(not sure the spelling) and others. Nigeria is bedeviled with a lot of egocentric and corrupt political class who can do anything to clinch onto power. But the end is near...I percieve another deadly group, more dangerous than the Boko Haram coming up. This time around, it wont be innocent citizens but those who swear by their mothers graves to milk this nation dry. I dont know the period but time will tell.
