Sorry guys, for not replying to many thou I v been doing it on my mail cox I got lots mail. You can get fast reply when you send me mail on sunnylawson2@yahoo.com. Most problem inverter we have on our inverter is caused by improper installation and load calculation. However if you are already having problem that u can solve on your own you can always ask question. My advice for peoe that want to buy inverter is to go for American or Gernam battery cos battery is the backboninverter. Thanks |
Thanks dear. I was surprised at some issues people are having with their inverters with all the awareness so far, I guess there are many substandard products in the market and unsuspecting buyers are really falling for them.
The problem people always have is that they don't consult professional before buying. You don't buy inverter because is cheap, you have to also consider maitenance. My advice is before you buy inverter just talk to somebody otherwise you will always regret. |
Hello, your inverter static switch is either faulty or it's control circuit is not functioning properly, hence it sometimes shorts the output to the ground.
Tech_W, thanks for the work you are doing here. Two good head is better than one. Its good to help others. |
@OP, thanks for ur time and response, I've been using inverter for over three yrs and within those yrs I've changed batteries twice. The first was due to my error, charged it with gen for about one full month before they brought light. Bought two new 200Ah batteries (dry cell) from the same company, this one served us well, though the highest output we got from it at any time was abt 7hrs (had abt 10 energy saving bulbs, two decoders, an Lcd and one home theatre). When the output started dropping to like 2-3hrs, I decided to change it, but getting a new one from the company was too expensive 65k times 2. One of the engineers adviced me to buy wet cell (trailer battery) that the only maintenance it needs is acid change. We couldn't get a 200Ah acid battery, so we bought 150Ah instead (for our new house). The first one month of usage was wonderful. The output at one time was over twelve hrs (my security light was always on, and all the energy saving bulbs in the house is over 16,18 to be precise) we traveled for two weeks, came back and the output started dropping, now the highest output u can get is 2hrs. We've changed the acid, took the batteries out to charge but it's still the same thing. We tried changing the cells, but the battery guy insisted there was nothing wrong with them, and that the battery is still very good (it's just three months old), my wife is of the opinion that the inverter is not charging well, but I disagree. What can we do to get back to the good old days of 10hs output? (Inverter: Emel, 1.5kva)
What is the model and mech of your inverter? Some inverter have a switch to select either smf battery nor tubler, check if your have and select tubler. Though normal motor battery cannot give you what you want cox those inverter batteries are specially made. Thanks. |
Good morning all, am sorry I ve not been able to reply everybody, its due to my work but I will try my best to reply all of them. If you need advice urgently just send me email, I have more acces to email thank nairaland. Thanks to moderator. I promise to give the best I can. |
You are right about the frequency. It could be the culprit here.[/quote Teck_W send me mail on sunnylawson2@yahoo.com, let's talk |
Dad Lolade: @SunnymMy dear, the load is much, you need to add only one fridge, remember the more load you connected, the lower your backup time. With the above load, it may not give you up to 3hr back up. |
kepler: My 8.6Kw FIREMAN Generator can not charge my 3.5KVA Inverter with 4 batteriesCheck the AVR of the generator, they might have changed it to capacitor and also check the frequency of the generator, it must not be more than 53 or less than 48hz |
phemiteb1: ao much can I get 0.8kva inverter and wot bat3 rating do I need ?Send me mail on sunnylawson2@yahoo.com |
unclebros: I bought 1.5kva inverter with 2 deepcycle batteries (each 200V) I have used the batteries for like 18months now. Now when power goes, I just have power for like 2hours before the inverter alarm start beeping. Does that mean i need to get another set of batteries? if yes, what model can you suggest. I need the one that can work for like 2yearsSend me email on sunnylawson2@yahoo.com and I will reply you |
Moxie4lyf: @OP,I need an advice please and clearification..I have heard alot about Inverters but dont know much about it.I can not advice you to add air condtion to inverter except if you have lots of money to invest on inverter. Inverter is good for lights, tv, frdge, fans, electronics. Not good for elements. |
ayzone: @op,pls i just bought a 2.2kva inverter. I want to know the battery rating i can use wit it to power a tv set, sound system,2 ceiling fans and 6 energy saving bulbs. Also,i will like to know how long it will last if fully charged. ThanksI need to know how many volts inverter you bought that will determine the number of battery(s) you need to buy. |
stint: can you give me a brief/quick estimation of a solar system that can power my self contain, containing 3 bulbs, 2 ceiling fan, a tv and sound system with enough power to charge my laptop?Send me email on sunnylawson2@yahoo.com and I will reply you |
deeptesting: Please i have an inverter with two batteries of 12V 18OAh which i only use to power my CCTV Machine at home 24 hours but i want to have it connected to all the bulbs(energy) in my rooms and kitchen but i did conduit wiring and don`t any surface wires, how can i achieve this goal? Its very simple, send me email and I will reply you, I no you don't want to do it yourself except if you are technical incline. |
Mbeki: A neighbour's inverter caught fire and nearly burnt down the whole building saved for fire service department, what could be the cause, in a new building we're constructing, we are considering building an inverter house outside and connecting to the main house with an underground cable, just in case of fire, what's your take?It depends on the type of inverter and manner of installation. Inverter is just like nepa light just that u do the generation, distribution and consumer, call qualified personal for the siting and instalation. |
big father: This is what i've been looking for. Thanks for this thread.Your battery is already bad before u bought it, if it comes with warranty or replacement |
malikworld: pls i need an inverter with solar energy panel that can power my home appliancesSend me email on sunnylawson2@yahoo.com so that I will give you qoutation |
Kins7778: how long will 42inch led tv and dstv decoderWhen fully charged it may take u upto 10-13hr. |
niyimat: pls which is better and more rugged; the locally made inverter which are cheaper or the imported ones which are on the high cost sideLocally made may kill your batteries faster because most of them does not have over voltage and under voltage cut off. |
keni: God bless you one of the 200 amps battery I bought december last year has died totally without given me any signal, it just went from working fine to getting bad totallyMost batteries are imported in this country are bad but you can always ask for warranty when buying next time otherwise you go for American specs which is more costly. |
joeargy: I luckily stumbled into dis thread, are u sure an apc 650 ups can charge a 100ah battery? If it will, how many hours wil it take to fully charge? Thanks very much for your question. It will charge and will not burn your house only it will take lots of time before fully charged. Am not advising you on that, I just gave him options and what he want to no. Thanks |
ceejay80s: God bless u,what do u mean by it wont fit the system? Will 100ah be good too? Í am preparìng 4 next yr world cup200AH is very big battery and heavy so it can not fit inside the APC but u can keep it outside. Yes with the kind of light PHCN give us, you need to back yourself up. |
ceejay80s: My guy , i have apc 650va will it work as an inverter with 200ah battery? Pls adviceIt will work but will not fit in the System again and also the charging time will increase but be left asured u will have a better back up time. |
ceejay80s: thanx, how long wìll 800va last on lcd tv and how many battery does it come with?If it just lcd, 800va can last for about 12-18hrs depending on how many inches ur lcd and its just one battery. (200AH) |
