Education / Re: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by Superdont: 2:32pm On Sep 11, 2017
Has any LSS person gotten a mail inviting for the induction?

I got a mail requesting for my admission status. Non since then.
yildaz:

LSS students? Dont u know everyone in OSS and LSS have been contacted. What have u been smoking over there.
Education / Re: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by Superdont: 10:29am On Sep 09, 2017
engrpaulsnow:

I'll advice against it... To begin with, the mail sent to successful OSS candidates says "....You are therefore invited for the induction programme scheduled to hold from 9:00am 14th to 15th September, 2017 at the PTDF Tower.... ". Number 2 reason is that part of the requirements for documentation/verification before the induction is for candidates to present a printout of the email invitation for the induction exercise. In other words you might not be admitted for the induction without an evidence of invitation. Number 3 reason is the fact that certain category of applicants (phd split site scholarship) have not been contacted at all or names listed since the conclusion of the test/interview. This suggests that the selection process is still ongoing. You could add the above reasons to the invitation posted on ptdf website, which in my opinion is directed at oss candidates. My recommendation would be for you to hold on and see what happens on Monday if you fall under the LSS category. If you are for OSS do send them an email to know why you haven't been contacted.

Thanks for taking your time.. LSS on notice....

When I become PwC HR.

I will get rid of this ipsative nonsense... It certainly shouldn't be used as an elimination stage for Graduate Recruitment... Research has shown....

2015 they took more than 120 in two batches, 2016 was just 53 due to recession (Is the recession even over). so we can only pray cos at least 550 out of the 702 will go home empty handed. lets prays its not us. advisory has not recruited trainees for 2 years. audit usually takes in 90% of trainees. Any one who chose advisory and does not have "cognate" experience ( not mushroom experience) and a strong masters/certification (majority of the applicants have foreign masters) is in for a long thing. God help us all

Can one change the line of service applied to in the recruitment process..?

You forgot some things:

1. Light went off during test. A not so nice interruption. Whatever happened to UPS? Apparently PWC needs me to avoid such embarrassing moments.

2. We are not competing against each other.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah you're on point my brother... It was embarrassing really... I'd assume such company with PwC's status would have uninterrupted power supply.,. Like we do here... *winks*

Great Men and Ladies of Nairaland... I hail ooo...

I did mine today and these are my observations and suggestions for those yet to do...

Observations...
The invite for the test was probably sent out on an alphabetical basis based on first names.. Most people who did today had first names starting from E...

The batch stuff was not strictly followed I was 1230 and I did with 1100..

The tests were the same thing with the ones we did at home but the HR people did not assume anything. They provided every info we needed...

Verbal first... 18 Questions for 11 minutes.... Comparatively longer passages... Average of 3 questions on each passage...
Numerical next... 10 Questions for 15 minutes... The figures were scattered such that you needed to write solutions for earlier questions down to be able to answer other questions on the same figures later on...

Everybody in the batch did the same questions...

Next is the essay, article, letter and whatever surprises they still have for the next batches... For 20 minutes...

You can request for a rough sheet to organize your thoughts...

Suggestions...
Get to the venue early, you could even write with an earlier batch...
Use the small time before the test starts to get acquainted with that alata calculator.. It can improve your speed if you know some shortcuts *winks*
We were told to start expecting mails from upper week...
Everyone will get a mail.., regret or link to the OPQs...

Whichever one you get... Life moves on... Love y'all...
wink

If you're coming from the Ajah axis...
STOP at Sandfill bus stop. Cross to the other side of the road and you'll see Yesufu Abiodun Oniru Rd. You'd get a keke to CCP PLACE...
And Google Maps helped a lot *winks*

For those writing essay it is important to know the average number of words you write on each line, this will give you an idea of how many lines and paragraphs you should write for whatever number of words you're given...
#letsgothere.

People that have written, please can you choose the one you want to write first? Numerical or Verbal? wink Thanks.
