Nairaland / General / Dana Air Customers Across The Country Have Been Assured Of The Best Of Service by supomi: 9:26am On Sep 09, 2016
Dana Air customers across the country have been assured of the best of service during the Sallah period just as the airline advised passengers to book ahead of time.

The Chief Operating Officer, Mr Obi Mbanuzuo, during a chat with our reporter in Lagos said that the airline was making arrangements to ensure that it’s machines that went for maintenance were brought back to meet the demands of teeming passengers.

Mbanuzuo noted that the absence of two airlines Aero Contractors and FirstNation Airways has greatly led to upsurge in Passenger traffic making some routes unattended.

Describing it as a great challenge, Mbanuzuo said Dana Air was trying to see how to cover up the gap provided as a result of the two airlines that stopped operations by providing more flights as its crew were ready to operate.

He advised passengers to book ahead for the best fares and to avoid rush during the Sallah period adding that the airline will satisfy it’s passengers demands.

According to him, the airline will maintain its frequencies and possibly fly to conducive areas where necessary facilities for such operations were available in the evenings.

Mbanuzuo appealed to the minister of state aviation to by making it stress-free to get aircraft into the country easily as a result of difficulty in getting Forex.

Dana are worse than Arik when it comes to poor service - I've seen their frustrated customers at MM2 often enough to realise that I never need use them.

Aero may have gone but they took me Ghana and back safely many times, I don't have anything negative to say about them. They never lost my luggage, always treated me with decency and respect.

There are other airlines besides Dana. I don't know how they were allowed to fly in Nigeria again or why any right thinking person would use them.

The other airlines have their issues but at least they'll get you home alive.

The fact that you had a one -off not-too- good experience with them doesntt mean they are worst. Bro, they are the only Nigerian airline to have undergone an operational audit. Arik and Aero will feel they are on top of their game for now but Dana Air has experienced it and they have learnt their lessons. Almost all airline in Nigeria have their annoying times. U have been lucky with Arik. ASK 10 out of 20 people how Arik air is and u will hia stories. U av had a fantastic time with Arik and Aero, I have had an awesome experience with dana. Till i experience one, Dana all the way. the airline is the safest you can think of for now.

Airlines make sense if you are in the business of bringing tourists to your state.

Why not transport your visitors yourself if you can, rather than rely on third party airlines such as Arik or Aero that aren't reliable.

I just don't get why they teamed up with Dana when they're even worse than the two that I mentioned.

Teaming up with Dana Air is the best decision for now ooo my brother. I trust you are not current you wd have heard that aero was mismanged and now grounded. Arik with their award for poor service ? abeg bros sit down ooo.

Dana Air is one of the strongest airlines you can tink of now. How many airlines will go tru an accident and bounce bck looking stronger daily? Ayade made a good decision bros

Edo Guber: Business Community Rally Support for Obaseki

Lagos, July 17, 2016 – The governorship ambition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer in Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, received a major boost yesterday, as friends and business associates hosted a fundraiser in his honour at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.

Themed ‘An Evening With GO’, the event, which was well attended by top business leaders, captains of industry, party leaders and government functionaries, also served as the formal launch of ‘The Essential GO’ book – a testimonial biography on the life and passion of Godwin Obaseki.

In his Foreword to the book, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Honourable Minister of Power, Works & Housing noted: “Godwin Obaseki is truly a remarkable figure with limitless talent, a big heart, and a self-effacing, down-to-earth personal style that gives no indication of his extraordinary accomplishments.”

“The Essential GO: An Insight into the Life & Passion of Godwin Obaseki is as much for those who have had a personal encounter with Godwin Obaseki as it is for those who haven’t. The underlying theme of the book, as mirrored by the exemplary life of Godwin Obaseki, is that true greatness can only be achieved through a life of purpose and service.”

Attesting to Obaseki’s enterprise, President & CEO of Dangote Industries Limited and Africa’s most successful businessman, Aliko Dangote, stated in the book: "After over three decades in business, I have learnt that personal integrity is as important as executive skill in business dealings, and Godwin has both in abundance.”

“Godwin is a thoroughbred financial expert: His work with Afrinvest - and as a member of several government committees - speaks volumes of his abilities. Whether in private enterprise or public administration, I have absolutely no doubt that Godwin will make a success of any venture he aspires to.”

In his testimonial, Director-General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Oscar Onyema, stated, “Godwin is a sound professional who understands the linkages between business and the economic well being of the people. Perhaps, his strongest quality is his high integrity. His ‘can do’ attitude and friendly personality also make him a great and dependable leader.”

The Essential GO also featured statements by many other notable business leaders and financial experts including Hakeem Bello-Osagie, Chairman of Etisalat Nigeria; Asue Ighodalo, Chairman, Sterling Bank Plc; Phillips Oduoza, GMD, UBA Plc; Ike Chioke, MD, Afrinvest West Africa Limited; and Evelyn Oputu, former MD, Bank of Industry, among others. They extolled Obaseki’s strong values of honesty and diligence while also highlighting his exceptional business savvy, excellent administrative capacities, dynamic leadership style and commitment to service.

Responding to the outpouring of support at the event, Obaseki said, “I am deeply humbled by the vote of confidence passed on me by colleagues in the financial services sector and the business community at large. As Chairman of the Edo State Government's Economic and Strategy Team since 2009, I have a firm grasp of the economic and developmental challenges of the state, and I pledge to use all my experience in my over 30 year career in the international and domestic corporate finance market to reengineer the economy of Edo State for the prosperity of the people.”

He assured guests of the airline that Dana Air will continue to invest in training and retraining of its Pilots, Engineers and other Technical staff and also contribute to capacity building in the industry.

‘We can boast of having some of the best hands in the industry and the feedback from our guests is positive. We will continue to invest in training and retraining of our Captains, Engineers and Technical staff to in order to keep the standards.’’

However, the airline expressed displeasure over some of the challenges facing domestic airlines like the rise in fuel price, multiple charges, and high exchange rate among other issues. “One of the issues domestic airlines are faced with is multiple charges. If these charges can be merged or eliminated, it will help the present situation of airlines. As it stands, airlines pay a statutory charge, which is fine, but some other charges, which the airlines need to grapple with, are not even applicable in other climes.’’ Presently, airlines peg fares in naira and have to pay for necessary maintenance in hard currency, Obi added.

Commenting further, Obi said, “For us as an airline, we are concerned about providing affordable regional air transport services and we will be happy if the government can enter favorable agreements and create policies that will favor domestic airlines so that the burden is reduced on the flying public”.

‘’Dana Air’s vision remains ‘to be recognized and respected as Nigeria's most reliable and customer-friendly airline’ and her mission is ‘to earn the loyalty and respect of our customers by consistently demonstrating our commitment to service, and providing affordable regional air transport services that focus on innovation, quality and service excellence’’ he assured.
