Well I use McAfee AntiVirus for enterprise in my office(8.5i). I dont need internet to update. Once my server does the updates. the systems on the network get there updates from there. If ur office is in need let me know. i can arrange for u.

I understand your plight. That was my initial thought until i tried it. Everything in Nigeria is bad and we all know that. The major problem with some of these ISP's even Telecoms like MTN, GLO is PHCN. They are always down mostly with this problem.

There could be so many reasons for this. Either a processor problem, Check if the fan of the processor is still functioning. When your PC starts up, ur processor is not that hot, once it gets hot, hanging starts. your fan is the only gadget that cools the processor, so check it.

Secondly, check if u dont have two antivirus installed on ur system or a conflicting software. When windows boots up it would like to load all other applications and any confliciting application would cuz windows to hand during startup.

For a last resort, u can reload ur OS.
