BOYS2MEN: You are the most insane being I have ever come across here...u still acknowledge say the money would be embezzled and yet you call for a total support for the government....I WISH U NIGERIA
Right from the Awolowo and Nnamdi Azikiwe days there has been fantastically corruption. Nigerian leaders are world kingpins of corruption and embezzlement, nor be today yansh dey back. We still need to support the government against Niger in this instance.
Tochi3: The hopeless o mockery is a hungry fraud looking for food & Lifestyle...his cries & pains are the effects of the Obidients who he thinks took the feeding spoon from his hungry mouth....
He is now desperately looking for another feeding spoon from the thief
relaxandsmile: But our president is hell bent on invading Niger. Is that not enough "supporting war"?
We are not going to fight against our African brothers. This will be resolved diplomatically.
Niger will soon see reason. The coup plotters like other African tin pot dictators that have staged coups in the continent history are after the uranium and enriching their pockets. The coup plotters need to be ensured they can loot in peace or get some of the uranium fields and they will back down.
Realist12: You just said my thoughts. Tinubu has made it clear he wants Nigerian to compete with Russia in Europe gas market. Whilst the west also needs to break away for their dependency on Russia gas , an autocratic Niger with Alliance with Russia might be barrier to the project.
African is the richest continent in the world. And if not for the fantastically corrupt leaders in each country in the continent it should be heaven on earth.
relaxandsmile: I don't see the advantage of going to war with your neighbor because of someone else's interest. What will we benefit by going to war with Niger? Who made us Africa Police? Niger is not in crisis, because the populace supports the actions of the military.
No one is supporting war. We all pray this gets resolved through diplomatic channels.
We Africans should not be fighting each other with weapons supplied and produced from outside our continent.
FreeStuffsNG: I hope you are clear now that we can end our pipeline in Nigeria to serve us and the train will be an extension of what we have within our own nation. It's not by force to extend it. This is one of the ways Nigeria will also deal with them. Project funding is not released all at once, it will be in tranches. If we finish our gas pipeline in Nigeria, we don't need to extend it to Niger. We will rather use that money to finish the already revenue generating Lagos to Morocco gas pipeline
It is in our natural interest to have all trading routes opened long-term.
Realist12: You just said my thoughts. Tinubu has made it clear he wants Nigerian to compete with Russia in Europe gas market. Whilst the west also needs to break away for their dependency on Russia gas , an autocratic Niger with Alliance with Russia might be barrier to the project.
100%...Niger is now a puppet regime of Russia. And to close our doorstep and can be used to destabilize our country.
FreeStuffsNG: That's not the issue. We can have multiple options but the one that is active and gone well advanced is the Lagos to Morocco gas pipeline. As you must have realized from my original response, we don't need Niger to take gas to Europe. We can even run another through same route having seen how risky it's to run pipeline through those terrorists infested route. All the countries for the active gas pipeline are peaceful and are already paying. Nigeria doesn't need Niger. It's Niger that needs us and our gas. This their action just killed that project to help them with our gas. We can equally convert the gas into CNG and ship like the US does.
We still need that route opened for trade and not closed off to us because we align with United Kingdom, France and United States. That is what is going to open.
Buhari already took a multi billion dollar loan to build a rail route to Niger. It is not just gas pipelines routes we need to keep open in the future but rail routes as well.
FreeStuffsNG: smh. Conspiracy theories that are just theories and nothing more.
Nigeria has a far advanced gas pipeline that will be extended all the way to Morocco and then Europe. This pipeline is currently being used to supply Ghana gas from Nigeria and when extended to Morocco, the pipeline will not pass through any of those dead countries like Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso.
All these info are in the public domain but most of you just embrace ignorance on topical issues and that's why the leaders see how ignorant you are and just ignore you. Just read up on the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline and get enlightened. The Niger option is another opportunity to help Niger just like we did with Ghana. We don't even need to take it to Niger. We have the market here and we can always ship gas to Europe through the Lagos to Morocco gas pipeline. Niger has practically been feeding and surviving on our benevolence. Nigeria will take them off it.
We have enough gas for two different routes. Nigeria has one of the largest gas reserves in the world and we can feed Europe with it. Forget about the massive and endemic corruption with nothing to show for it. God blessed this land with abundant natural resources.
There is a chess game been played to block the gas pipeline been built from Nigeria to supply natural gas to Europe and reduce their dependence on Russia which supplies most of Europe natural gas.
Nigeria will lose economically with a puppet regime in Niger backed by Russia. Nigeria plan to supply Europe with natural gas will be blocked. This is the time we have to see beyond our political differences and support the Nigerian state in achieving its economic goals, despite the knowledge that most of the revenue generated from the project will end up getting embezzled by the fantastically corrupt political class.
.....and we have nothing to show for all this wealth as a nation?!
Again, May all politicians that raped our nation and took her 100 years back with blind looting and stealing since 1960 never end well in life. Including their supporters. So shall it be as long as God lives....
