like i said... Hybrids de reign because nepa too de take light...
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by swagifted(m): 9:50am On May 01
to be honest , if nigeria had net metering and the grid was highly reliable and also the agreement is 1kwh for 1kwh (i supply the grid 1kwh with my solar in the afternoon and the grid gives me back the 1kwh in the night), i will not take a hybrid over an ON grid inverter, the grid is essentially my battery so why spend so much on batteries?....as much as i love hybrids(because nepa too de take light), they don't last as long as on grids only.
Dam5reey:

Hybrids are here to stay and have stood the test of time already. why are people still contemplating?
Hybrid gives you an Inverter, Charger, and MPPT, cheaper than any standalone.

example with 250K. you can have
a 3kva inverter with 60A charger,
80A MPPT, go and price stand-alone equivalent.

Hybrid allows you to customize slightly when grid charge, how much grid charge, when Solarcharge, Only Solar charge during the day and Grid charge in the night, etc. with standalone, you need to have good know-how and other tools to achieve these.

Since, i started working in 2020, i haven't seen a single power outage at the company where i work. I mean 365 days x 4.

National assembly can't keep electricity for the few hours of meaningless gathering.

Shame.

starlink sef is 38k a month
99thEnemy:
grin

DStv will surely exit Nigeria.
It won’t be too long.

When people find comfort in an alternative, they will discover them for the fraud that they are.

Imagine unlimited Airtel EBB with no Fair Use Policy (FUP) and 20Mbps 40Mbps speed for 30days is N20,000 N35,000

Netflix for 4 devices is N5000, showmax is as cheap as N1200

then I will go and waste N37,000 on DStv premium?

when I also have one thousand and onety one free sources to stream online? even live matches?

They must be on colos. grin
Happy Exit to DStv in the very soon to come advance. grin

EDIT: 20k unlimited is no longer available, only 35k unlimited 30days at 40Mbps is the minimum.

Trying to get a replacement for a hisense inverter ac. It used to ramp up around 1.2kw and drop to as low as 300w after reaching set temprature earlier in its life. But recently, it just maintains the 1.2kw, with occasional drops to 1kw. Its been serviced and cleaned a million times with no improvement, and even when ambient temp is pretty low, consumption remains same.
NB: Compressor hasn't been changed to a regular one.

try it when the weather is cold and see if it will maintain that 1.2kw...my LG AC been de behave like that too... But for this heat? E no de gree go down again like before.

Previous policy drafted to reduce exchanged rate has gone south by the cabals, forget what you see on TV, this country na God go fit save us.

There's underground plan for it to hit 1800/$

If the OGAs at the top want it to be 400/$ it's 100% possible, but you can't close a system you are benefiting from.
omo if our export no overshadow our imports nothing wey fit happen o.... And if the general public no MASSIVELY consume goods and services that are made in Nigeria nothing better go still come out... The story long but that's for another day. DSTV don increase money still no Nigerian competitor.. It is well.

My brother; don't pray for anyone to hit you. I know for sure DC will lock you in making it harder to let go until you go yonder; wheras AC has a higher chance of flinging you. Imagine say you dey roof, AC fit fling you go down and you kaput. If e no fling you, you might be needing a defibrillator But realistically you are better of having 500V and 10A running via your wires than having 50V 100A. There is a high potential to start a fire with high current especially when wires are undersized. You could be sleeping and next thing, you don turn to toasted bread. You go buy fake CHNT breaker; e no pop. As long as you're not touching naked wires and bridging things, you can escape getting electrocuted. You have to trust your own awareness. But the chances of high current fires would depends on both you, the installer, the wires, the breakers, the batteries, etc. Too much to risk. You're better off pitching sides with low current high voltage than high current low voltage. These are my opinions. Never been shocked by DC but A/C, one too many times. Stay safe.
my grand setup would be High voltage sha ... But i gats build a separate building housing all the batteries and inverters... And all panels would be on the ground...na only AC go leave the separate house enter the electrical panel in the main house.

Starlink was so good Nigerians bought it for 1.3million.... I even sold one for 1. 5million in December to someone that was travelling to the village for Christmas.
Ayomipoe:
Rush to buy Starlink has sold theirs?
Abeg this one is not factual. If you know anyone who is selling their used device, it's either they are gamers and they already have access to networks with high ping or they are content creators that need access to high upload speeds.

You are comparing Starlink to the older satellite technologies, that one cannot fly.
See my speed test this morning and it is currently drizzling, a scenario that affects the speed.

People are not rushing to sell their Starlink o bros, na scarce commodity.

Meanwhile, any company or factory that needs solar power as a service, me and some chairmen want to start am next year.... Though we could start visiting potential sites from August... Minimum is 150kw.... We can go up to 1Mw per site if the space is available... We would love if its located around the northern corridor where there is generous sunlight... We are going to bear 100% initial cost... If there is going to be a mix of solar and diesel gen (emergency)... We would bear the cost of the gen and its diesel too.. Your own is to pay premium rates for every KWh your site is consuming from us...and sign to only buy electricity from us for some period of years.... (we would love if its a factory that converts raw materials into finished or semi finished goods... Raw materials that are of abundance in Nigeria).

na untop one 50kw inverter you wan mount 74KWp ? i thought 65kw was the max array size for that inverter? omo solarco gave me price for that high voltage battery (the complete 60kwh) cold catch me...
jonescosmos:

SolarCo is a reliable Partner.

I was supposed to do this project in Jabi. But some other projects took me out to PH and all, they grew inpatient and went on to bring in their Team from Lebanon to do the installation.
Lot's of similar projects has been done in Abuja recently, many more on going.

I will be deploying a
50KW Deye HV
74KWp (128 x 580W) Longi Hi-Mo X6 Panels,
61.2KW Deye HV Battery Rack

And Another:
12KW Deye
15KWp Panels
36.4KW Battery Banks

Pretty soon.
Great Guys, Great Team, Very Humble young dudes I must confess.
