Concerning what u wrote previously, i guess we are here to guide & encourage others or intending catfish farmers and its other related businesses, d guy had tried to build an oven(he can improve),to even attempt an aerator, hmmmm commendable, for what u said he copied, i personally know about d details sir & i blieve possibly some or a few other will/should; cant speak for him, but next time he should write culled from so so website or blog(though i have not verify d claim, will try again). Many giant news site/magazine also cull info, though they put in where d info originate from. U can share relevant info here, many people visit nairaland, put your site in your post, God bless

Etranshub: Amazing....so someone would read this write-up and would be impress that you have done a great job not knowing you have no clue of what you are talking about. You stole this from bethsaidal.com from the topic "types of smoking ovens (avoiding PAH) and can not even afford to put it in your own words. You are still planing on going back there to still information about export yet you have never exportated anything and you didn't even make reference to the website. You are pathetic and should be sued for intellectual theft though the informations out there are free but they are discovered from years of research and hardworking....I won't comment on that your oven but I don't see how that will smoke and prevent PAH....#goodluck
why calling the man pathetic? The only mistake he made was not adding a reference.
info are free on the internet and he brought out an article to expand on his project
We should encourage the guy with his project at least he has something to show for it and with time he will improve on it.
I cant even access the batsaida.com

JuveFarms: Success tips for aspiring fish farmers.

Your overall goal in the fish farming business should be to supply fish to the market at competitive prices that still allow you to make a good profit. However, most small-scale catfish farmers make a poor return on their investments because of the presence of several intermediaries and middlemen who tend to offer very low prices for your fish.

A good way to increase the profit potential of this business is to sell directly to consumers. Using this strategy, you can sell your fish at the general retail market price (which is usually much higher than what the middlemen offer), and keep all the profits that the middlemen would have taken off you. The downside to this strategy is that you will only sell a smaller volume of fish at a time compared to the high volumes the middlemen buy.

Should you successfully get a consistent customer base for your fish, this strategy will prove to be very profitable and the scale and cost of running your business will be much smaller. Households, hoteliers, restaurants and catering service businesses are good niche targets and are very likely to become loyal customers as long as your supply is steady and reliable.

In addition, your prices must be competitive and the quality (size) of your fish should dwarf your competition’s. Most entrepreneurs can make a decent living from this business if they focus less on selling volumes and aim for quality (large sizes) which command higher retail prices.

Another good strategy is to improve the value of the fish through processing. A common form of fish processing is drying (smoking). Smoked fish commands much higher prices in the market than its fresh forms and has a longer shelf life (will not spoil easily). Smoked fish has become a popular export commodity due to rising demand from Africans living in the diaspora.

Before you decide to invest your time and money in fish farming, you must first be sure that you have a target market that allows you to achieve profitability. Tnx
Excellent!!! Points noted.
Thanks juve

This is so so sad that we are back to page 74 embarassed
All the numerous and vital info all gone shocked
I guess we have to move on and make this great thread even more better.

For the record i finally met with my Robonski at Atl, he is such a young shy person grin
We chatted much about fish farming and to my amazement he told me so much in details.
What i liked about him was his simplicity it still baffles me.
He is also involved in some outstanding farm projects of which i don't want to go into details

robonski i am sorry for letting the cat out of the bag cheesy
