Seems Class XII has a number of people from outside Lagos. This is going to be fun.
P.S are they no ladies in Class XII? Can't just stare at hardwares for the entire 2 weeks. Hope they gave us some softwares!

Its not by your age. There's this thing they look for during the interview - charisma. Remember, Andela does more than just code. Building potential CEOs all around Africa requires more than just coding. You should know more than function() to function.

Also during your conversation / interview, show them you know what you are saying rather than agree to their own line of thought. They need something fresh.

It would be helpful getting the technical (Javascript) questions right (I didn't do very well in that area), in which case, you just might join the Ruby class if selected (like Ramos16), but your personality matters most.

Be very confident and think outside the box.

Yeah, accommodation is provided once you become a fellow. But there is no provision during the boot camp. This doesn't speak well as many people apply from outside Lagos. But make we first do this one.

The arrangement would be to look for a friend or family bro. But I hear there's breakfast and lunch though.

Lol! Money matter don set. I believe its monthly. I just saw on Jobberman http://www./job/424090/software-engineer-trainee-in-lagos/ that its between 114 - 300k monthly, so 81k should be the monthly stipend for entry level. Just my reasoning.

4 progressive years. You get to build yourself and go up from entry level. Don't believe its the same level / stage all through.

From what I get, they invite only the top 10%. That means it depends on the general performance of the applicants to a particular class.

Didn't quite get your question. However, here's what I mean. Class XII application ended last week, and a new class, Class XIII is already open for application. Just apply again. People complained about not being able to retake the Home Study Test on their second application, so I'd advise that you use a different email address, preferably gmail because you'd be needing it to book an appointment on their Google Calender when you get invited for an interview, after you score above 700 in your next Home Study Test, which I'm sure you will if you study hard smart .

Haven't heard from them since I mailed them my score. Not even an acknowledgement from them. Still waiting though, hope it doesn't come too late for those that have to travel to Lagos.

Greenhouse email is the email you used when taking the plum test aka aptitude test. If you haven't taken that one then take it and then try and resubmit your score for the home study test.

This makes a lot of sense. It should be the reason I got the message saying "not registered on greenhouse". Thanks.

Come to think of it, might be because I stated while applying that I had done the test before, so they assumed I was using the same email address.

I applied by 3 pm today, 14th August 2015, and I received a mail stating that I had to take it by 12pm same day. Sent my complaint to apply@andela.co. Got a replied saying "You have till Wednesday, August 18th to take the test". 18th aint no Wednesday. Andela how far now? Still can't submit my result.

A little help here please. I can't submit my score. Had to redo the whole process from scratch, same thing. It just keeps showing the error message below

"Thank you for applying for a training opportunity with Andela. After carefully reviewing every application, we regret to inform you that we are unable to extend an invitation for you to Interview with Andela. We received a record number of applications and unfortunately, are unable to extend as many offers as we would like."

Well, I guess 532 didn't cut it.

... All I did was click the take time to setup your account icon. The icon faded, then I positioned my mouse on the space where they talk about the email used for "greenhouse". I now typed-in the email I used for the application and clicked the "submit" button. And I got a response telling me that my result has been submitted.

i also got the mail about the extension of the deadline to thursday. those pf us that have taken the test earlier, are we to redo? I was also able to submit my score properly, do I need to send a screen shot also? If i need to, pls shower me with the mailing address.

MY EXPERIENCE!!!

Scored 578, went for overtime and it dropped to 532. Mailed both scores to [email]apply@andela.co[/email]. Anyways, all I have to do now is wait. Got a mail the deadline was extended till Thursday 23 July 2015, but I think its better I wrote it today abeg. No need to wait.

Andela be setting questions with multiple nestings, curly bracket, square brackets and stuff - i think i even saw > and thought it was a new kind of bracket. Such a large font I have to scroll down to continue reading, not even to see the answers (or options) yet o. And guess what, before I scroll down, i don forget wetin i see for up.

Did I forget to mention all this while that the timer has been counting? Yeah! Some question are to be done in 30 seconds, others 60. I actually loaded a new question, and the first thing I noticed was the timer - 70 something and counting ... (I think). Right away I knew a mouse would be best to scroll thru that particular question, not this touch pad on my laptop.

To those guys that drafted the questions, una try. I saw your names o! And its somewhere in my head. your questions made it impossible to cram your names.

In all, it was a wonderful experience. If you haven't done it, just chill - its not that difficult. Just
1) Get a good network - 30 minutes should do. My network went off, and by the time it got back, they say i don miss one question, so minus 40 marks. O yeah! Negative marking.

2) Study the recommended material. - And no, I didn't for the "s". Na only one material (javascript, maybe java sef) full there.

3) Have faith.

Sorry about that error. That's what I meant. Heard from a reliable source that the HS test would be sent once the application closes.

That must be the Home Study test score you are talking about. The Home Study test will be done later, after application for this class (XI) is closed - I think. In the meantime, are you going through the Home Study tasks on Codecademy and doing some extra reading and practice?

Okay! That makes sense. Guess everyone who does the plum test might as well do the Home Study (HS) test. And yeah, I'm currently on the H.S drill. So when did apply for CLASS XI or what?

The result from the Plum test wasn't emailed to me. I got the result immediately after I did the test, right on the site I took the test on. I still go back to check the result on that same site using the username and password I registered with. The address is "plum.io". You can log into either the beta(newest) version or the regular one depending on which one you signed-up for.

I got that "passage" too with all the write up, but not sure if that's all. From earlier posts on this thread, some people quoted their scores. I remember someone said 767.

Just wonder why its taking this long to get the result of the plum test. Took mine on Friday as soon as I got the mail that said "Seriously, do it now if possible." At least let us know you got the result from the plum guys and tell us when we'll get the result emailed to us.

I thought it wise to bring to the knowledge of well meaning Nigerians that the equipment for cutting cellophane / waterproof in industries is can be made locally. For those who know the procedure in making these nylons bags, I mean the one used in cutting / sealing it, not the one for melting it. But who knows, I believe these guys can make one if they get close enough to study it just like they have shown before. However, from what I hear, that one is not too popular as people have to travel all the way to Aba or so to melt it.

As contained in the "application instruction" document (see http://travel.state.gov/pdf/DV_2015_Instructions.pdf), Nigerians are not eligible to apply for the 2015 programme. Apparently, more than 50,000 Nigerians immigrated to the US in the previous 5 years.

Here's an excerpt:

For DV-2015, natives of the following countries are not eligible to apply, because more than 50,000 natives of these countries immigrated to the United States in the previous five years:
Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (mainland-born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam.

Persons born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan are eligible.

Changes in eligibility this year:
For DV - 2015, natives of Nigeria are no longer eligible.
