EquityM: CardinalStone's platform is more user-friendly. Nevertheless, I don't see red in DLM, but both have high daily returns if the market is bullish. By July, I will know which one performs better when they both pay dividends. Thank you, DLM onboarding really isn't user friendly. I keep getting errors |

EquityM: Keep the equity and ARM. Use the other funds to buy the land by splitting the funds. You can now develop the house using your own income while waiting for ARM and the equity fund to bring huge gains. Try and buy the land immediately, and start building gradually from the gains and other channels you have. Don't neglect your portfolio totally because you still need money for other things even though you have a house. Lastly, buy the land, fence it, get all the right papers, and then plan on how to build it. DLM fixed income vs Cardinal Alpha if you had to pick one? |

rukyboy: Exactly what I'm thinking.
These fintechs springing up giving good rates to steal customers from stanbic ibtc.
Don't invest more than 5m. I guess that's the maximum you'll receive if they go under We really need to know how things work especially on this side of the divide. What you just referred to is the maximum cap applicable and payable to customers of licensed MDBs by the NDIC if for whatever reason they go under. NDIC has no business with asset managers so I'm not sure where the said sum would come from. |
Investment › Re: Equity Investment. by t33why: 1:16pm On Jan 25 |
EquityM: If you are a risky investor (500K), I'll put 400k in equity and 100k in DLM fixed income. In two years' time, your 400k will be 800k for sure, no doubt about that. So if you want growth, more equity, fixed income for dividends, and steady growth, you can also try MMF like TrustBanc, which has a steady rate, and this will give you good returns and compounding. I have 500k in TrustBanc and DLM fixed income. DLM has been delivering better than the MMF for daily interest accrued; however, it's too early to judge. Based on my experience, start with a million if you can. This DLM, is the mode of operation same as Cardinal in terms of the NAV thing |

Beeron: if I were to rebalance your portfolio, I would exit UCap equity fund for a very active one like Afrivest equity fund, exit UCap women whatever and either send the money to Trustbanc or Afrivest.
Same thing applies to Cardinalstone fixed income alpha only if you have less than 2 million there, it's a waste of time if you don't have huge money there when it should be compounding at 19% in Trustbanc.
The illusion here is MMF can also serve as Fixed income fund but we fail to see it. Thank you for this, I appreciate you and EquityM for this thread, and everyone that's been contributing knowledge here and I especially do not take it for granted. I'll check out Afrivest, my main isssue with not putting substantial funds in Cardinal Alpha is that I do not just understand the idea behind the reduction in capital for the small amount I've put to test, or maybe I'm looking at it from the lens of MMF |

EquityM: It worth it if you are patient. CardinalStone fixed income fund is good for steady income and dividend payout. You might notice that your money is dropping; it's just the NAV that is fluctuating. Some fund managers use "NAV," and some don't. Basically, most funds require a substantial amount of money to meet certain targets. Hey thanks senior man for the response. To be honest na you make me go Cardinal, although I've had an account for a while but never invested. I'm still trying to get the whole thing majorly the reduction in capital. The bulk of my funds is in Trustbanc in cowrywise bloom but I'm looking at trying other decent risk and moderate long term growth products hence my foray into UCAP and Cardinal |

Beeron: no wahala So basically all this fixed income and it's different variations are not worth it? I'm currently in MMF with Trustbanc, recently started UCAP'S equity fund and wealth for women fund , all via cowrywise Also what's your take on Cardinal's Alpha fund. Just started that too but don't get it yet |

Batman2412: I've been seeing trustbanc rate on cowreywise but I'm scared about something I read sometime ago wrt trustbanc closing account that doesn't have some certain kind of millions (I've forgotten the amount). Is it applicable to their mmf? Must I invest several millions at once with trustbanc mmf via cowrywise? I'm pretty sure that's Standard Chartered Bank not Trustbanc, besides the scope of operations differ |

Sugarboy87: [I want to ask the same question too]Fellow nairalanders, pls what business can I start with 700k? I just sold 75% of my Pï coins and after doing some things, I have about 700k left. This is the first time I'm having such amount of money tbh so I really hope I can use it well. I know the economy is bad but saving 700k is not a small thing to do for the average Nigerian. I currently work as a fuel attendant and the money I get daily plus my salary is only enough for feeding and normal costs of living. I'm 25 and I'm Male jsyk Serious advice needed, thanks Go keep it in MMF while you strategize, refrain from entertaining ideas that seem greedy. There's a thread on MMF in the investment section. Harddiskng: Thank you for this review.
I am considering Norrenberger with all this Standard Chartered wahala.
Then again, to be fair reflecting on my experience with FBNQ App, your inability to login might have to do with your network. Before i always struggle to log-in it was later I realized if the network isn’t strong enough, it won’t log me in. It used to work, then it just stopped. That's about the only reason I decided to stop using their service, I don't want to have to be restricted to special conditions to use their service. All this use one network,, don't use one network, your network bar must be full etc no be for me |

3 days now no access immediately after I on-boarded and the customer care called me that day self..
Maybe I would reach out to them That'd be your best bet, I thought of reaching out to Norrenberger too when the issues started but then I had just started using their platform less than 2weeks sef and all of a sudden no access on app and web. It was too early for that kind of stress |

doomsdayII: I was just going to ask this question. Cos I've been playing attention to both stanbic MMF and their corresponding dollar fund via cowrywise and I'm unsure whether to put my funds in MMF or dollar fund I'm not one for VIAs especially if the provider is available and accessible. I'd rather go direct to the source, that way you avoid 3rd party uncertainty, charges, fees, etc You need to weigh the attendant risks of both options (they obviously do not carry same risks) different currencies, fund composition also different, and compare with your appetite. |

How do you guys get to know transactions or returns of a certain day wasn't added? Especially if you're not calculating it everyday. The Stanbic MMF app isn't like cowrywise where you get to see the daily rates and returns for each day. Or Is there something I'm missing, kindly put me on pls. I think 99% of people here have experienced stanbic, Reliable is a summary of them..they might not have the highest rate but there's an assuredness about them. For United capital, I call them perennial low ballers, when they could give you 20%, they'd rather remove 5% from it. |

COMPAQ: If petrol went from N197 to as high as N865 and we didnt die, adding N43 to make it N908 will not kill anybody. At a point, we already bought above N900.
We keep pushing and being creative. Thats why cars on the roads are less. People operate from home and online these days. Stay in your house and save money. At least electricity is better. Instead of profitless going up and down to party where the cost of transporting yourself there is more than the value of the rice you will eat. Unfortunately it isn't as unidirectional as you've put it. Remember Nigerians are some of the greediest people you can find anywhere, and petrol being the source of the taxeans EVERYTHING will somehow be dragged into it, transportation, food, fees, any mundane thing you can think of will automatically get a price review |
