My OP was about charging style/mode which is one of the factors causing swollen batteries.

No need to cause kasala. I no come with fight, fuckboys and I no be fan boy of any brand. Fake cable? Ever since my days of RN3 Pro, I've never used my out-of-the-box chargers and cables. I use chargers and cables that I sell and I've never had battery issues with any of them (RN3 Pro, RN4x, R6, S2, R8, RN8, and RN9Pro); that's telling you I have absolute confidence in what I'm selling. So, fake cables? Nah! He had issue before getting a replacement cable.[/color]

My oga, I hail. I don't know how this issue deviated from unavailability of original battery to cable oh. I never said anywhere that you sell fake cables. What I said was I decided to get a new cable from you(I chatted you on telegram days back about needing a cable and that your brother wasn't picking his call before he eventually came around) the same day I changed my battery as people on the phone thread suggested my cable( the follow come) could be a culprit . Your charging patterns is most likely culpable,even thou you won't admit,
You use your device while you charge?
Some people don't even know this,the power banks they use most times are culpable
Also using non OEM chargers too,
So the fact you got a cable from someone does not mean his cable is bad,might be the case you are supplying your device battery with unacceptable currents.
At least if your follow come battery did not go bad,you won't be needing a replacement,that's to tell you,follow come batteries go bad too.
The same way you are experiencing swelling batteries on all your devices from Redmi note 4x should be investigated ,maybe your current sef running through your house needs to be inspected
I have people using Xiaomi mi max 1,Redmi note 4x and the likes over the years.and no need for replacement batteries,
I have people using Xiaomi Redmi note 10 pro since the first day of launch,no need for battery replacement(yes I have also read issues with Redmi note 10 pro swelling batteries,but I think it was very minimal,esp on the bronze gold colours that were first released)

The charger and cable that came with it although got a new cable from jboixxx when I changed the battery. I've seen more than 10 swollen Redmi note 10 pro batteries on the phone thread so we can't all be terrible phone users.

I'd probably just get a secondary device for now until I can get a proper replacement device. Thanks

ALL these aftermarket ones are all the same, terrible. My Redmi note 4x, off blessed memory (which you helped me order from Ali by the way) showed me ba3 shege after the follow come became pregnant.

I changed my Redmi note 10 pro battery about 11days ago after it became pregnant (what is it with Redmi batteries and pregnancy). It's been a terrible experience, I can't even get 2 decent hrs of use.

This definitely will be my LAST Redmi phone, to buy original battery will now be war

I walked into a UBA branxh asked for a dollar prepaid card and filled a form.
Also Required was:
Nin, bvn utility bill.
They took my photo and fingerprint.
45minutes later, they gave me a Visa card and told me my account number (sent to my email and phone too)
Went to counter to pay in my 30$.
Went home and completed my AliExpress $20 transaction.
23$ was deducted. The extra 3$ is charged as Annual maintenance fee. No other charges.
7$ balance left in my àccount.
I will have to buy $ from aboki to deposit anytime I want to make more transactions.

The $3 should be activation/ transaction fee, the annual maintenance fee is $22, at least that was what I was charged last year.might have changed

Good afternoon all, i use redmi note 8, have been using the phone since August 2020. Recently the power button us proven not able to on the phone if the battery runs down, you will press tire. I have a question when i want to reboot or restart the phone when the phone is on, how do i restart the phone without the power button.
Secondly sometimes the phone just hangs, the face recognition will not open the screen ,the pattern drawing will not work, even if the phone is ringing, you can't pick it, how do you troubleshoot this challenges, it's already obvious to me that the phone needs changing but i will manage it till i can buy a new one.

Well, I don't really believe pressing while charging affects battery tho. Spoilt USB caused mine.

t33why take caution. There are lot of substandard battery being sold on Nairaland. I will advise you order on AliExpress if you can.

I've had the displeasure of buying a couple of those, my favorite was one that fast forwards at 94%, you can literally see the ba3 running from 94 to 100 everytime.

I'd definitely take care to buy a replacement, but like you said it never'd be like the OEM

The follow come battery is Lithium polymer (Li-Poly) and not Li-ion. For it to swell up that easily, it must have suffered relative abuses. Hope you don't use phones while charging or some other funny stuff

Pressing while charging, I'm the number 1 offender. Meanwhile my rn10pro ba3 has swollen up too, back cover's pushed out...only noticed while trying to buy a new pouch. I rarely remove it from it's pouch so didn't know.

Please is there a way to permanently disable chrome as default browser? Everytime I clear default, once I exit it automatically sets itself as default again. Device is a Redmi note 10 pro

Fix for this, should someone need it.; Download better open with, increase timer or remove it totally and you can tell chrome to kiss your behind . Cheers
