Corroro:As per leak: expect 6.5-inches, 4000mAh battery, 4G network and more. |
igobuybenz:Not announced yet. But it will be under 50k given the leaked specs I've seen! |
Freelancerx:There will be a Pro/Plus version. Just certified though, but not announced yet! |
iseoluwanimi:Yes! |
Niswayne19:Thanks! |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGTk8xbjqwk Good affordable smartphone, but still miss out on 4G network! https://droidafrica.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Pop5-unboxing-and-Review.jpg Article review: https://droidafrica.net/tecno-pop-5-unboxing-4g-network-is-still-missing/

Akanimoh113:Good, if you mean S16 Pro 4G LTE, then you should as well know that the device is not really in store currently. I'll be going to 3C and slot later today to check if this unit is now readily in stock so I can get one for review. But also know that the price of the S16 Pro 4G LTE will surely cross 40k when it finally arrive in store, which makes it unfair to compare with the A3 core! |
Akanimoh113:Alright, as you wish. https://www.droidafrica.net/gadget/itel-s16-pro-4g-lte/ In the link above, I tried to elaborate on the key differences between iTel S16 Pro and S16 Pro 4G LTE. But some people are not still getting it. There are three smartphones in the iTel S16-series(The standard S16, S16 Pro and S16 Pro 4G LTE) These three device might have similar naming scheme, but there are not entirely the same. For example, vanilla S16 has just 6.5 inches display, while the S16 Pro and the S16 Pro LTE has 6.6-inches. Secondly, S16 Pro and Pro 4G LTE has same design and looks, but with different internals. The S16 Pro has same CPU on the standard S16 which does not offer 4G network, but only the S16 Pro LTE has 4G network, and is probably powered by an octa-core UNISOC SC9863A CPU. I could go on and on, but you can read more for yourself in the link provided above. |
Akanimoh113:Well, it all depends on what you are looking for in a smartphone. First S16 is 30k, not S16 pro. But still here are three important differences between S16 Pro and A3 core: 1. S16 pro does not have 4G network, A3 Core has. 2. S16 pro has 6.6-inches screen, A3 core has just 5.3, but both are using 720p panel. Now, when you spread 720p across these two sizes, the A3 core will produce crisper display with sharper text. 3. Software update: only few OEMs can beat Samsung on this end. About price, I got mine @36k, then price got reduced few days later to 32k, which I still think it a great bargain! |
Akanimoh113:32k currently! |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Imb_K8wXxM The review is for Samsung's Galaxy A3 Core, one of the cheapest smartphone from the company, released in 2020. The device has a 5.3-inches display with 720 x 1480 pixels. The OS is Android 10 (Go Edition), and it is based on Mediatek MT6739 CPU. Other specs includes 1GB RAM, 16GB RAM, 8-megapixel main camera, 5-megapixel front camera and 3000mAh built-in battery. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The full and detailed written review: https://www.droidafrica.net/samsung-galaxy-a3-core-unboxing-and-full-review/ -----------------------------------------------------------------------

ToyBoyAaron:Good. I think with this screenshot, I can finally stop replying to some comments in here. |
ToyBoyAaron:Yeah, I sure know that. But maybe you should read the heading of the statistics again! Android version share for TOP 10 MANUFACTURERS |
lilbest4:You said you don't believe their reported screenshot insinuating that Nokia can not top Huawei in Android update, and then you are making reference to same site. Anyway, your link is pointing at 7 top brands, not 10. For more links and proves, please visit the article source. They have more links that I can't post on Nairaland. |

lilbest4:Bros, Na WA for you ooo! Anyway, myself use to think little of Tecno, until I saw the company's name among top 10 smartphone vendors in the world. That alone should tell you that even Apple and Samsung, and Huawei inclusive know Tecno much, much, much more than you. I wish I can emphasize more on the 'much' |
Report emanating from China, has just confirmed that the world number 2 smartphone maker - Huawei, have just sued Transion Holdings in a local court in China. OK, before you begin asking who or what Transion Holding is, let me help! Transion Holdings is the mother company of Tecno Mobiles. Transion is also the company behind Infinix Mobility and iTel Mobiles, all of which are Chinese-African focused smartphone makers. https://www.droidafrica.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/images-93.jpeg Huawei is said to have sue Transion Holdings over IPR theft. According to Business Dictionary, Interlectual Property Right, popularly known as IP(R) is; A right that is had by a person or by a company to have exclusive rights to use its own plans, ideas, or other intangible assets without the worry of competition, AT LEAST FOR A SPECIFIC PERIOD OF TIME. These rights can include copyrights, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. These rights may be enforced by a court via a lawsuit. The reasoning for intellectual property is to encourage innovation without the fear that a competitor will steal the idea and / or take the credit for it.According to the law suit, Huawei claims that Transion Holdings has made use of some of her Interlectual Properties that are not licensed or leased to company. Notice the bolded clause above? It means IP right can expire, and when it does expire, anyone could freely make use of that IP. This is the reason why some phone makers still manufacture 2G/3G phones in the continent of Africa. They are simply using expired IPs to avoid lawsuits. According to gizmochina.com, Transion Holdings currently has only 630 network patents and 286 computer software copyrights to its name in China, while it direct competitors like Huawei or Xiaomi has above 100,000 copyrights. Some Latest Trends Worth Noting; For the record, Transion owned Tecno, iTel and Infinix currently have a spot in the list of top 5 smartphone makers in Africa according to a canalys report of 2017/2018. Also in a recent global report, specifically Tecno Mobiles made it, to be on number ten (10) of the world largest smartphone vendors https://www.droidafrica.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/download-1.jpeg It is also worth noting that Transion Holdings is currently gaining good grounds in the Asian Pacific Market, a market heavily dominated by Huawei and it Honor brand. 2G/3G phones don't really sail well in these markets. And even in Africa, the primary dome of Transion, almost every network provider, and even local phone users, are demanding 4G networks, and for Tecno, Infinix and iTel phones to appeal to consumers, the Transion need to up it game, focusing more on 4G LTE enabled smartphones. That's Where the Problem Lies; Well, as it seems, to keep up with these trends, Transion seems to have stepped on the toes of Huawei, conversely leading to the lawsuit against the firm. Huawei is currently under heavy pressures coming from the US government, and to retain it position as the world’s 2nd largest smartphone vendor, the company could do all it can to silence growing competitions either in it home country, the Asian market, or even the African market, which is currently, one of ripped vineyard the company may want to harvest. We'll keep our eyes on these underdog verses the champion's battle between Transion and Huawei, and see how it ends. sureteeboy:Smartphone is moving from power to features now. |
SkengRay:Indians Tecno Camon series are usually better than Nigerians own bro |
sureteeboy:I'm sure you are referring to Camon X Pro? Well, Helio P22 is actually better than Helio P23. Helio P22 is AI certified, and built on 12nm process. Helio P23 is not fully optimized for AI, and it a 16nm SoC |
Telvin7:Bro, no bi me ooo... Tell that to Tecno. I'm not a Tecno seller, only a blogger building my online reputation. By the way, it 61k not 67k |
