The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has directed telecommunications companies in the country to suspend the sales and reactivation of new SIM cards. As contained in a letter signed by A.I. Sholanke, NCC’s Director for Projects and dated 7th December, the commission gave an an audit of the subscriber registration database in compliance with a directive by the federal government as reason for the development, as it threatened strict sanctions, including a possible withdrawal of the operating license for the erring telecommunication provider. Twitter went wild yesterday with the #Sugarmummy trend. Nigerian guys were the mastermind of the hashtag, throwing shades and bants on the ladies. Even those still collecting transport fare from their parents joined the trend- Wetin Musa no go see for gate! In what appears to be a gradual push for less-dependence on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as petrol, the Federal Government is set to roll out the much-talked about National Gas Expansion Programme.
