Jobs/VacanciesRe: Please What Is Confidential Cover? by Tanyogo(m): 9:50am On Dec 11, 2021
cfree14:
Hello good day.

I want to apply for the ongoing recruitment at the Rivers State University as a graduate lecturer,(anyone who is also applying should indicate let's know ourselves and help each other).

The problem is, I saw confidential cover as one of the documents to submit and I don't know what it is.

I googled it out, yet still confused.
I want to know if you are to write it yourself or it's left for the referees to do it for you.
This is reference letter to be written by your referees.

They will rise up again.I honestly don't believe any school will be happy to have any of its student dead especially in a tragic controversial manner. They obviously will learn a big lesson from this unfortunate incident and never make any lapses ever again.

Dowen has a strong human resource in its alumni, I am wondering why members of Dowen Alumni are quiet and so much scared to tell the world if this unfortunate incident completely erases the legacy of the education Dowen gave them. I remember A Hall had a similar experience but their Alumni stood by their school and was part of those who ensured A. Hall did not die with that unfortunate incident. Today it's the turn of your alma mater.

If you are a parent who Dowen helped raise your child to be the great person he or she is today or you are a product of Dowen ,it's time to stand with your alma mater and assure the public that you are with the bereaved family too.Get involved in the resolution of the issue. This is a tough time for your alma mater and if Dowen didn't kill you throughout your stay there, why then will Dowen now want to kill that beautiful soul?

It's unfortunate. I pray that God console the bereaved family. It's really tough but putting all the blame on the school is not unexpected in unfortunate incidents like this.

Oh Benue! My Benue!!!

Your pain and woes started
When Lobi Bank died
And you were left with your
South and north banks.

Benue Breweries Limited
Is now brewing for a strange
Stranger in the land
More is no more for Benue.

Benue Cement Company
Is long married to Dangote
Who is busy making money
And has forsaken her child
BCC Lions to die of kwashiorkor.

Taraku Mills Limited
What are you milling?
That our soya beans is wasting?
You can't mill soya beans
And give Benue soya oil!

Otukpo Burnt Bricks Limited
Caught fire mysteriously
And burnt herself to death
From ashes it came and
From ashes it must return?

Igumale Cement Company Limited
Did you die on arrival?
Or did you survive a day to taste
The joy of being a cement company?
See you limestone lay to waste.

Benue State Television
How many times will you appear
In Benue Budget annually
And gulp in clean millions
Before you will be watched
Like a dancing masquerade at Christmas?

Benue Fruit Juice Company
Are you so sweet a virgin
Benue People cannot taste your juice?
What a damsel in distress are you!
Benue Tomato Company
When will Benue tomatoes ever
Be ripe enough for you to take off?
When Benue is now know as
The waste land of tomatoes.

Benue Agricultural Development Company
Lays along Aliade road with
Hands outstretched to travelers
Begging for alms and help
Like street urchins of old.

Ben, the Benue soft drink
Could not survive either and
Died a beautiful young maiden
Coca Cola bought its premises
But packed and left in a hurry
Like a traveling hurricane.

Benue State Water Board
Benue people are thirsty
Because you lay so lame by
The River Benue and cannot
Scoop and purify water for
Benue's thirsty throats!

Radio Benue Makurdi
Where is Katsina-Ala substation?
Where is Idekpa sub-station?
Upon what shall they resurrect
Like Jesus on Good Friday?

Oh Benue! My Benue!!
Where did you go wrong?
When shall you get it right?
Arise ye government of Benue state and revive yourself from slumber......
Copied.

BusinessRe: Do Nigeria Banks Have The Right To Retain 10% From A Deceased’s Account? by Tanyogo(m): 9:20pm On Sep 10, 2020
peacenaija:
Dear Nairalanders,

Trust we all keeping safe.

I really need clarification from bankers and experienced persons in the house. A friend of my lost her father recently and they have started receiving their father’s entitlement which was paid into the account domiciled with a Nigerian bank operated by the deceased.

However, my friend’s mum lost their dad’s ATM, so they reported to the bank with the death certificate and requested for a new ATM or the money moved to another account but the bank is now asking for a letter of Administration and they will take 10% of the money left in the deceased account.

My grouse is not the letter of administration but the 10% they are asking on another person’s entitlement. Is there any law backing this? How can we go about it because the money is a substantial amount?

I'd appreciate your advice and clarifications. Thanks
The 10% is not going to the bank. Its a charge collected by the probate registry issuing the letter of administration. The bank only told her what to expect. The bank MAY charge her 5000 or 10,000 for search report. Am in the system.

HealthCOVID-19: Ortom Extends Lockdown In Benue For Two Weeks, Cuts Down 2020 Budget by Tanyogo(op): 8:33pm On Apr 15, 2020
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has extended the partial lockdown and dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed on the state by another two weeks as part of measures to check the spread of Coronavirus in the state.

This is just as he clarified that of the 24 Coronavirus cases being investigated in the state, 23 of the number who were contacts of the state’s index came out negative while another suspected cases had been placed on self-isolation in Konshisha Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Samuel Ortom who made the disclosure Wednesday at the end of a joint meeting of members of the State Executive Council, SEC and the State Action Committee on COVID-19 in Makurdi also disclosed that the SEC had reviewed the state’s 2020 budget of N195billion to N119billion following a sharp drop in revenue accruals to the state.

The Governor explained that the measure became necessary in view of the increasing rate of the spread of the virus in parts of the country and the need for the government to sustain existing measures aimed at checking the spread of the disease in the state.

He said, “the State Executive Committee met with the Action Committee on COVID-19 and after exhaustively discussing all issues concerning the safety and wellbeing of our people we resolved that the measures we had put in place to check the spread of the virus in the state should be sustained and continued for another two weeks.

“This became necessary because of the rising infection rate in parts of the country. It is painful that we have to do this but the survival and safety of our people is paramount though we have not recorded any fresh case apart from the index case who was moved to Abuja and together we will prevent the virus from gaining entrance into our state,” he added.

The Governor urged the people of the state to brace up to the looming global recession occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic as predicted by the World Bank by returning to the farms where the state had it comparative advantage to produce food for self sustenance and sale to local and international markets.

AutoJoshNG:
These are indeed great pictures of the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe in the year 1959.

Also fondly referred to as “Zik” or "Zik of Africa", this Nigerian statesman was the first President of Nigeria from 1963 to 1966.

He is popularly considered as the driving force behind Nigeria's independence and came to be known as the "father of Nigerian Nationalism".

Azikiwe could speak Yoruba, Hausa and his native language, Igbo.

Motivated to get a university education, he traveled to U.S. and attended various colleges including Storer College, Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania and Howard.

He returned to Africa in 1934 to start work as a journalist in the Gold Coast (now Ghana). In British West Africa, Azikiwe was an important advocate of Nigerian and African nationalism, first as a journalist and later as political leader.

In one of the pictures shown below, the great nationalist is seen standing near his car. And in another, he is sitting in the same car.

If you know the name and model of this car, kindly state it in the comment section.
