VACANCY Executive Director, Technical (INSURANCE FIRM) Department: Technical Operations Department Roles/Responsibilities: Achieving underwriting profit objective through critical risk assessment and selecting risks at optimal price in all transactions. Ultimately responsible for ensuring the quality and suitability of policies, proper risk management of products and the implementation and management of technical underwriting and claims decisions. 1. Responsible for overall management, setting strategic objectives and related budgets for the Technical/Operations aspects of the Business for both Life and General. 2. Develop, Implement and manage short, medium and long term underwriting claims,reinsurance, and actuarial services strategies that will ensure the continued growth and profitability of the Company. 3. Lead negotiation and oversight of all external underwriting, claims, reinsurance and actuarial services. 4. Lead in the continuous improvement of customer satisfaction through programs, products and services to reduce deviations, provide for on-time delivery, and exceed customer quality and expectations. 5. Provide leadership in development of new methodologies/product/procedures; improve knowledge of trends and products in the insurance and reinsurance industries. 6. Oversee quality and integrity of pricing, underwriting, and reserving activities. 7. Actively participate in and ensure the Company's representation at industry meetings and seminars. 8. Collect and share industry intelligence with team, including industry trending and development. 9. Manage the business, ensure compliance with all set process and procedures. 10. Evaluate performance of direct reports for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives. 11. Ensure continuous product development for the productivity of the company. 12. Develop proficiency in general insurance theories and practices as well as the specific unit underwriting strategies. 13. Analyze company's appetite and exposures, determining whether the risk continues to meet A&G's underwriting criteria, proposing terms and pricing, and ensuring proper documentation in line with statutory requirement. 14. Review reports on investigations, settlements, denials of claims, individual evaluation of involved parties etc. 15. Review progress and status of claims with Team Leaders and discuss problems and suggested remedial actions. 16. Issuing stop orders for all non-active policies whose premiums are not expected. 17. Perform any other functions as assigned by the Managing Director.
