Hi all, I have a friend who wants to apply as a teacher but he is worried because he does not possess a B.Ed. His qualifications are B.Sc and M.Sc but he has the required teaching experience in a secondary school.

His worry is that, on the NOC, it's stated that: "Teachers of academic subjects require a bachelor's degree in education which is often preceded by a bachelor's degree in the arts or sciences"

Is this really a cause for worry? Can he apply since he has the teaching experience?

To my understanding, this may only hinder him there if he wants to teach, that is , he will have to obtain a B.Ed to be eligible for a teaching position but I doubt if it will affect his application as a teacher.

Kindly shed more light on this.

I really want to kick start my application but I have one issue I am bothered about.

I am in my early 30s; with a B.Sc and an M.Sc however, I have not really worked for someone/an organization before; I run my own business.

Now my bother is, how do I claim valid work experience to include in my application? I have noticed it's almost impossible to include personal business as proof of valid work experience. How do I go about this?

Please, those who had similar challenge, how did you go about it?

I will appreciate varied responses from the experts as it's really bothering me.
