They actually deployed the army to stop them. The road blocks are still here to this day .

These guys bunkering were former militants and they were armed to the teeth. We would wake up at 3am to the sound of heavy machine gun fire. It was so bad that the air force eventually attacked the camps in ikorodu.

When it got too hot for the militants to bunker, they went after banks. They attacked diamond Bank. A young mother in her house died from a stray bullet.

It was a terrible and frightening time for everyone in the ikorodu and festac axis

Of course, it's a campaign strategy. This whole talk of Lagos is no man's land wasn't there during the run-up to the presidential elections, as soon as the presidential elections ended, we then started seeing talks of Igbo's are saying Lagos is no-mans land, Igbo's are disrespecting our tradition, Igbo's are disrespecting our Oba's, Igbo's are invading our lands, your only business in Lagos are the businesses you own...it's all politics, emanating right from the top of the APC political architecture, but it's dangerous politics.
