Hello house. I've gone through the recent posts on the thread and can't find a case peculiar to mine. So please can you advice on how to go about my application: - I'm employed by an European country but I opted to become a contractor because Deel exchange rates were really low. I was losing like half of my salary because they were using bank rate then. - To be signed as a contractor, I had to register a company which I did. But I haven't even done anything via the company. I have been to the Schengen region 3x (France, Denmark & Spain have issues me visa) and I have never used the company details I registered. My company always wrote a letter of introduction stating I am employed as a contractor. Do you suggest I stick to the company invite and select 'employed' when completing the form? - My Company pays me in Euros and thr amount I get each month isn't consistent because of exchange rate. So I don't really know how to answer how much you earn monthly question. - Still on salary, I'd normally exchange half of my salary to naira to cater for my monthly expenses and just send the rest to Rise ($ wallet), or Bamboo (stock investment) or Piggyvest (naira if I have excess spill over from exchange rate). How do I explain why I am not moving all my salary into that one account I use? - I also try not to put too much money in my naira account so I don't spend any how. The amount I exchange is usually just the exact that covers my monthly expenses or maybe surplus by 500k. Won't the Visa officer think I don't have enough money to cover the trip? Thank you as your share your thoughts |
Hello, everyone. There's something about CoC I don't understand. Would love your views. When JAMB offered me admission, it was English. I initially picked law. I didn't do anything about the admission, just found out that I was on supp list (At this time, the whole idea of CoC had closed). Then I was reading this thread and saw something about the need to CoC. I didn't get CoC and even English was not part of the courses listed for then. My questions: Is JAMB CoC different from the school's CoC? Also, I was admitted without CoC (both school and JAMB), will my credentials be affected?? Thank you as you reply. |

Good evening everyone. Please I'll like if you can provide me with materials or any information on my field work for Oral African Literature. The topic is Legends in Lagos Island(Isale Eko). I've checked Google and it doesn't seems to be helping out. I'm considering visiting the palace where I might have access to a rich knowledge of the culture but I know the true children of the soil, and erudite historians on Nairaland will also be of great help in wowing my lecturer. Legend, according to Wikipedia, "is a general of folklore thy consist of a narrative that features human actions perceived both by teller and listeners to take place within human history and demonstrating human vakues, and which possesses certain qualities that give the tale verisimilitude." What I need help with is information on this categories of legends: 1. Historical: places of great importance with legendary stories attached to it. 2. Personal: Important figures in the history of Lagos Island. 3. Spiritual/Religious: traditional stories about miracles, revelations, answers to prayers, etc 4. Supernatural: vampires, witches, fairies, little people, zombie, creation stories. Please when you consider helping me(TIA), help me restrict it to LAGOS ISLAND(this is very important). I'm available to read any materials you guys will recommend. I look forward to your responses. Thank you! N.B: Only related to Lagos Island. |

Does she know thousands of cele fanatics that had to just wear white and black(even when black is solely not a color associated with the church)? I think this case would settle the case once and for all, what is Nigeria? Who owns Nigeria? Religion or sanity? |

It's one of the toughest courses you can ever study because it's a mix of English Language and Literature. In English language, you are learning a foreign language and how to write and speak it properly; the only problem you might have may be in Phonetics&Phonology(pronunciation& transcription), other branches are quite learnable and readable. For Literature, it's far more than reading novels or plays or poems like many people claim. It is courting and marrying your literary texts, you must read the text page to page, front to back, in and out, like you must be in the spirit to be able to analyses and pass judgement on a literary piece. Ypur literary texts would speak to you at some point. Literature would tell to interpret a text and get be objective. But all in all, English Language and Literary Studies is the best course(if you are in the right school with the right lecturer) you can ever study in the university. All other courses rely solely on language(English is widely used in all spheres of human life)and literature, that's why studying it makes you a BIG FISH. English Language and Literary Studies will make you more critical and objective to life. Oh!!!!! I forgot to add,you must be ready to write lengthy analysis both on English and Literature courses. In humanities, you WRITE. |
Some would even say gender equality is non African, please are the religions(Christianity and Islam)not a by-product of colonialism? |

For those that claimed she lied regarding the Facebook issue, that was a typo error (the date). If truly anyone read the book not for the juicy whatever but 'reading for art sake',one would be able to decipher, relate and see that it was just a typo error. As to if it was a lie or not,I think it wasn't and I would say why:because we(most of the readers) weren't there when she was growing up,we only saw what we were asked to see the same way we are judging what we are asked to read,so by the authority that guides a writer, whatever that was said is true. In short,I think she is so sure of what she wrote as she poses that memoir to Maje&Anita as: I DARE YOU. She never played the righteous fellow in that memoir, truth be told. She acknowledged her naivety, stupidity, everything acknowledgeable that was wrong,so nothing was biased on that book. |

It hurts me a lot when I read all the posts to find out that FEMINISM is been trashed about by men,it hurts much more when I realised that majority of the condemnation comes from women.............them I'm forced to ask,are you comfortable with this gendered society? A society that is forcing you to be second to your fellow human(whether male superiority over female and vice versa)? Talking of man and woman,I though God made Eve out of Adam's rib,so they are equal, made of the same stuff,so why should one claim seniority over the other? There is difference between respecting your spouse and a spouse dominating..........let's get it straight and right. Beyonce....... when did blacks ever get accredited for anything they do no matter how excellently well they perform? If you are curious, read Nairobi Heat(though a fiction,it tells more). Beyonce cited Chimamanda doesn't mean she made her popular, after all who is the father of fame if not God,and believe it or not, many dont even and cannot link the song(with) and Chimamanda. Chimamanda isn't saying one should not marry or see men as important, from what I've read so far,all I can say about her work is this:men are important,so are women. You both need each other to balance out. She is saying:we don't want a society that favours one based on gender(my example,I'm carrying over a course cos I am a female, lecturer wants a fast one - i am wanted cos I have what it takes to satisfy the man;my best friend male is carrying over the same course cos he is my friend - the man hates him cos he is a male). Another instance:A male lecturer is hated because he doesn't have what to feed the hungry eyes but a female is loved cos she has what to feed the hungry eyes(this is just in a school setting oooooo) compared to the bigger society. She is saying:judge everyone based on their worth not because one is masculine(a female can be masculine) and the other is feminine(a male can be feminine)................... But Nigeria is just so patriarchal that's why it seems that she is advocating against men, take for instance; it hurts me when my mum keeps saying, you are a girl, keep your virginity for your husband,it's a thing of pride, why can't she just say keep yourself cos it makes you responsible...........,my elder sister dropped out of school cos my brother had to further his masters degree(after all my brother is a male and in the end,the wife is claiming the owner of his life, mum is just left with the two girls) and many more the female children are facing out there(sacrifices that are not worth it). However, she always have space for telling people that:'never treat the oppressed as saint' meaning that she also acknowledges that some people cause their havoc themselves not because of gender. And besides, who gender EPP? who masculinity and femininity EPP?we've been practicing gendered based society and what do we have to show for it? hubbies beating their wives to stupor, wives hating/poisoning their hubbies, male children getting the whole attention, female children doing the chores................ITS HIGH TIME WE TREATED EACH OTHER WITH RESPECT,that's the only way we won't have to war ourselves........internally and externally |
