With this new and improved position in the rankings, The number of games an Eagle will have to feature in for Nigeria to qualify for a work permit in the EPL drops from 75% to 60% over 2 years.

Growing up those days, the sitting room was never big enough for us to celebrate a goal. We usually ran out into the passage way and run back in again grin grin grin grin grin

Some times we even ran out of the house if it was a BIG GOAL. grin grin grin grin

How many can relate grin

I remember, the place used to vibrate whenever Nigeria scored. It was crazy.

Nowadays, Nigeria can be playing and you would not even know.

Only on this thread someone holds a foreign passport, and doesn't even have a Nigerian one, we tag them Nigerians cheesy

I know Saka visited Nigeria a lot growing up so he definitely has a Nigerian passport. He has also spoken of how proud he is of his heritage.

You can not define, who is and who is not a Nigerian.

There are many Nigerians born abroad who identify with their "Nigerianness".

Aw does qualifying for afcon now an achievement for a brand like eagles in Africa when ordinarily it shld b our "birth right".... Anyway ,I don't c anything spectacular in qualifying for afcon...however I am not taking anything away from rohr..for at least giving us a decent team dt can last us for years...like kog45 rightly said he's in dire need of an afcon trophy..in fact if he doesn't lift dt afcon 2022..he shld respect himself and leave d post. cool

Well, for 2 consecutive AFCONs, Nigeria was no where to be found. There is no such thing as birth right, you need to put in the work.

At that point, we were in a terrible place and most Nigerians had lost interest in the super eagles.

The super falcons are being treated poorly while the cadet teams are given mediocore coaches!!

...for bringing FB into the fold abi!good but history will forget him if he failed to win any trophy.

Otto Gloria... 1980 afcon
Clemens Westerhoff...1994 afcon
Stephen Keshi....2013 afcon
Bonfrere Jo...Olympic gold Atlanta 1996

Pls tell me who remembers Manfred Hoener,Thijs Libregt,Philipe Trousier,Berti Vogts...

The turnaround of Super eagles was Westerhoff period and no coach has achieved that feat, bringing FB in and having good homegrown players good for the country but we want a team that we would remember as historic team.

Rohr just need to win next Afcon, qualifying for WC is not a record cos that record belonged to Clemens Westerhoff.

He said, Rohr has made Nigerians proud of the super eagles, again. That's true.

We failed to qualify for AFCON back to back and were ranked very low. We were in a very bad place.

In that sense, Rohr has done well.

Now, he needs to add a trophy to cement his legacy.

The player I want really is Jordan Torunarigha, he I will be an improvement on what we have already. Felix Uduokhai will make a good back up, but I don't rate Akpoguma. Awaziem is a better center back than Akpoguma

Jordan will be a steal.. Automatic starter.

Chidozie Awaziem 23 years, 6 million
Semi Ajayi 26 years, 4 million

Kenneth Omeruo 26 years, 2.4 million

Nationality plays a factor in valuation.

The only reason why thier value is like this is simply because they are "Germans".At this thier level, after playing for us thier value will drop except if they are extraordinary

Jordan and Uduokhai will be solid additions to the team. I think Jordan is good enough for Germany even now.

Akpoguma will be a good bench option.

Things are changing. I believe that the 2019 under17 set will make it. Allready olakunle olusegun is scoring goals in denmark. I think some reforms are being made in the area of agents. Samson Tijani was caught up in Agent problems but he overcame it and went to red bull in a fantastic deal. Things are definately improving

I have little hope in the 2019 under 17.

Tijani and Jinadu are probably the two that might come out

Na black and white TV i get. Calm down @tbaba1234. cheesy. Besides tier-4 German league matches are rarely streamed. All you get to see are highlights, which are mostly selective. I am not moved by that. Perhaps now we get to watch 90 minutes of him in action for Sparta, if he ever gets one. cheesy. You made a good point though, and i'll take your advice. I can give myself the chance of watching him now. Eredivisie dey show for my Black and White TV. cheesy

I watched many of his games for the B side of Fortuna so it was obviously streamed. It is about knowing the link.

He will get his chances, watch him play and then get an informed position on his strengths and weaknesses.

He is 20 years, he will not be the finished article at that age.

Good move though If he starts playing regularly, i am happy to change my mind on the lad.

Have you watched him? You can not assume, when you have not watched him play. At least, give yourself a chance to properly assess his potential.

He is just 20 year old. What exactly are you expecting? Was Uzoho not in the B team of Depor before the world cup?

Careful man, Careful. I repeat Uzoho over the rest, especially Maduka, unless he proves himself worthy. Maduka sits unless he proves himself. Uzoho is not the only one that needs to fight for a place. Maduka has to do the same. I wouldn't be surprised if he warms the bench for most of this season. Same goes for Seb Osigwe, he just joined Lugano.cheesy. Which kain yeye analysis be this, en? cheesy. Replace all the goalkeepers for what? How about introduce them one at a time. I doubt Maduka is a good goalkeeper. I hope he proves me wrong.

Any foreign born player should join the Nigerian team now or it may be too late. In the next 2 to 5 years even foreign borns will find it difficult for 2 reasons

1. Our grassroot football is working and players from our youth team and academies are getting better. Who knows where samdon tijani, olakunle olusegun, hillary gong, akinkunmi amoo e.t.c will be a few years from now.

2. The number of foreign born pkayers are many and so they may be down the pecking order even among their foreign born.

Emmanuel Dessers is lucky he took his chance. The idea that foreign borns are better is overrated and maybe a thing of the past. Barcelona has an academy in lagos there is nff futures u15 and so one great player can emerge at anytime.

Foreign born players will remain an important factor in Nigerian football for a long time. The sheer number of foreign born Nigerians make this inevitable.

Our academies are not yet up to standard. There is no guarantee any of the name mentioned will be top players. Our structures are still very weak. How many standard academies are in Nigeria? How many qualified coaches are there??

Look at national team, We have at least 5 of these boys now starting. And more are coming.

He has been having an abysmal start if the truth must be told. No window dressing.

5 goals in EPL after 20 games in the 2019/20 an improvement on 2018 /19 season where he scored 1 goal after 30 games.

But in the general scheme of things very poor for a £25 million striker.

It's a reflection of a lack of quality strikers in the SE that's why KC is still in consideration.

Because outside of Ighalo and Osimhen we don't have any quality strikers.

I disagree on Iheanacho.

He scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists. That is 8 goal contributions in 20 games. Remember, he hardly played 90 minutes in any game and sometimes played as a support striker.

Overall, he had 10 goals and 4 Assists in 26.

Good return after a tough start.

He deserves a place in the national team.

i think you guys should stop mentioning 'rejuvenated' alongside k. nwakali and stop considering him for the gwg, atleast for now, make he first rejuvenate on top pitch... we will all get to see him this season, as there is no hiding place for him, he better pull thru, haters yakpka untop him matter... but till then no super eagle shot for him...

iheanacho
nwakali etc, should be paused for now...

Nwakali has not done enough for super eagles talk.

Iheanacho had a good season last year after a difficult start.

BTW,didn't his Stoke city move come before the world cup?

Yea, I believe it did.. it was a poor move as he could have waited for the WC. His performance would have won him a better move.

I think Etebo's move is disappointing. It is almost as bad as his move to Stoke after a decent WC. There are more competitors for his midfield role coming up and i do not think this move helps his position.

He has not been playing in an advanced role at club level.
