since you can't get a compatible twrp, what's holding philz TR?

same issue with the PhilZ (6.3mb)... I have to upload my recovery for u to flash through mobile uncle since u don't want to use pc, maybe tomorrow. but remember there is no one to port one and upload for me if I should also say I can't stress my PC. no knowledge is waste

just check on the cot. it is cool but almost same as CRT... it should be manual porting

yea. the size of the recovery partition of this phone is 6.14mb while th twrp ported is 6.17mb.

looking for a way to increase the size of the partition so that it can take the ported one

never heard about that one. twrp is just the best recovery in existence. u can Google the features to compare with CTR. cos if I should start typing it here, It would be a lot of work

Preboy: hope you've got a backup, get ifont, its way better than any font app
BTW, what's wrong with the default font, I for 1 love it

the problem is that I have ported both philz TR and TWRP for this phone but the size of the recovery partition of this phone is a little bit smaller compare to it. Tested on TECNO m5 and working fine.

that's just the issue now. still looking for a solution

abimbolar: Am using ctr. what other app can I use to change my font.

u can manually change the font by downloading the font u want online then rename them with dsame name of the roboto and system ui fonts on /system/fonts folder accordingly. then change permission to rw- r-- r--. reboot ur phone that's all. this method is far better than using font app

Glo bis... for the font make sure u have any custom recovery installed first before tampering with system files. the font is quiet easy to change anyway

someone should pls backup the stock recovery of this phone with mtkdroidtools and check the size. I'm not having mine again and I'm working on porting the philz Touch recovery and twrp on this phone.

Note: only those who have not flash cwmr or any custom recovery on their phone

HOW TO PORT CTR AND/OR CWMR ON TECNO F5

REQUIREMENTS
1. PDANET (FOR USB DRIVER INSTALLATION (WINDOWS)

2. CTR (FOR CTR (WINDOWS))

3. PC

4. USB CABLE

5. YOUR TECNO F5

6. MTKDROID TOOL (FOR CWMR)

7. PATIENCE

TO INSTALL USB DRIVER
plug ur phone to the PC with USB debugging
enabled, now launch the PDAnet on ur PC,
click install and follow the instructions on the
screen, select others when u get to the phone
list screen and wait for it to automatically
detect ur phone, else if it show "skip USB
driver installation" just remove the cable from
ur phone and plug it back immediately. when
prompting for installation click on "install" to
install the driver. at this point u should see
the usb driver marked, wait for it to complete
and click finish. that's all for driver
installation.

TO INSTALL THE RECOVERY
now unplug ur phone and plug back once
then create a folder on ur PC desktop and
extract the content of the ctr u downloaded
from the link above, click the ctr.exe (the one
with butterfly icon), it may ask to disable
antivirus on ur PC, click no, after that click
yes for others except if it ask maybe u have
flip recovery, u should choose no for that one
then wait till the software automatically
reboot ur phone into ctr recovery.

FOR CWM RECOVERY
1. follow same Step above to install USB driver
2. TO INSTALL CWMR, download mtkdroid tools
3. extract the content and launch the mtkdroidtool.exe
4. click on root at the bottom right of the tool on ur PC screen
5. grant super user access when prompts on ur phone screen . the yellow color would change to green at the bottom left of the mtkdroidtool.
6. after that click backup, recovery... tab at the top
7. tick "use boot.img from phone" and click on the backup and boot at the left side of the app screen.
it will ask to flash Cwmr, click yes till the app automatically reboot ur phone to Cwmr recovery...

GOOD LUCK

didn't find the backup file in the cwm folder
in sdcard. Instead, I saw it in the root of my
sdcard alone. And the name of the file is
"userdata_20140721_200228.backup" and
the size is 429.62mb. Pls my friends, is dis

emmas2k570: the probs is dat each time we try to use mtk droid tools to get the boot.img of d phone, the mtk droid tools doesn't detect the phone.... we can't use ctr to flash anything if we dont get d boot.img

and who told u that.. u must be very funny. u don't need any boot image before u can use CTR. what u only need is the USB driver and the CTR app ( I will recommend pdanet for the USB driver installation )
