Good afternoon everyone, was here 2012 when I was seeking admission into Unilag.

Im here again on CANADA Issue, I have gone through many threads, questions and answers and I must really commend you guys for this selfless service.

Quick one, I applied for a year Diploma course at Sheridan and I've been given a firm offer into two courses. So I got a mail asking to apply for a student permit before May 15.

These were the documents listed to apply for student visa and out of all, I don't seem to understand some
Evidence of requirement of study (I still don't know what this means)

Letter of acceptance, Is it until I make payment before I can get letter of acceptance or I can use my offer letter. Also if I must pay before getting acceptance letter, is it compulsory I pay full payment or I can pay acceptance fee however the school (Sheridan) didn't give option to pay acceptance fee.

Proof of funds:- I have an in the US who is sponsoring me but the issue is just that we don't use same surname coz shes married, so how do I go about that..

Also, after reading some comments here, I saw post on letter of purpose, I have read it and digested the format, however I want to ask if it will be uploaded along with the Proof of funds or what Section will it be uploaded?

If yu r not under catchment den chances is zero just go nd get COC form

If yu dnt meet cut-off nd yu dnt fall into any catchment nd neither r yu 4rm ELDA den I suggest yu get ready 2 get d change of course form

It's not hard to believe.
I know of University of Ibadan.
After they released cutoff mark; Change of course form was made available for people who didn't make it, with no top-notch courses among but when supplementary list came out, some people where offered Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Physiotherapy etc

Dats Ui nd not unilag dunno much abt UI so ts possibly buh as 4 unilag avnt seen any except the person av an insider

I'm in Chemistry Science, 200l. 2 years ago, I wrote postutme and didn't meet the cutoff. Unilag gave me Chemistry. I didn't buy change of course form. I have better things to do than lie to you.
My friend, she got biochemistry when I got Chemistry. She wrote Jamb again last year and was given nursing cuz she didn't meet medicine's cutoff.
Be sure of your facts before you say them.

Divide ur jamb score by 8, multiply ur post jamb score by 2.5 nd divide it by 2 den add both 2geda

Since past 2 yrs Ekiti catchment has Neva gone beyond 50... Ur chances r very high just watch out 4 ur name on merit list

Like @FrancisTony was trying to point out earlier which I agree, JAMB as an ex am body has lost its credibility a long time ago. Forget about CBT or what have you, it's all crap (I know what I'm saying bro), as a matter of fact.
You see, the truth of the matter is, taking Unilag for example, majority of those who often gain admission on MERIT are those whose scores range between 200 to say, 250. (I personally know at least 4 of the top 10 on the merit list, for MBBS last year), and like only one of them scored 250, the rest 22* to 2 thirty something. But they all blasted the postutme exam, obviously!

This whole new policy wasn't well thought about, to me.
Everyone should still be given a level playing ground like they have always been doing, after all, even if its 200 students an institution can take out of 9000 applicants, they can still arrive at that. All they need to do is to select them based on the cut off marks and their performances, after the post utme exams that is. Isn't that the method they've been using??
Majority of the 'ineligible' students might even be better academically than the others. I'm not trying to encourage mediocrity here or say that 'average' students shouldn't work hard for excellence, but the
truth of the matter is that in Nigeria of Today, Jamb/UTMe scores (forget the CBT of a thing) cannot be said to be a true reflection of one's academic ability or one's actual performance during the exams itself, (there are exceptions to this though).. (Though the Jamb CBT exams is still the best method to eradicate any malpractices both on the part of the candidates and JAMB itself, it still has a long way to go...)

Or isn't that the reason the POstUTme exams were initiated in the first place??
