I turned around and saw Sule entering the sitting room, a big black bag in his head, and another one in his right hand. It immediately dawned on me my father is back. I quickly ran towards Sule to assist him with the heavy load, while helping my father with the laptop bag around his shoulder.

After dinner, we enjoyed dried Suya, popularly known as “Kilichi”, while my father entertained us with funny stories from the village- how he used to go hunting for bush-rats, diving in a river filled with naked village girls, and how he “toasted” my mother under a mango tree.

Anita cleared the table, and Sule moved back to his post. Everyone was tired and ready to relocate to bed: except me. I need to have a moment with Anita. I kept on staring at her as she cleared the table, feeling disappointed. My fathers return tore all my plans apart; oh, so I wont be enjoyed some hot marathon sex with her tonight. Well, no problem. ” Oh PaPa…emm..”, I stammered, ” I was asleep and the phone was on silent,” I lied.

” I hope you have not brought those your useless girlfriends to my house again,” he yelled, ” Anyways, your mother and I will be back today”.

“Today!!!” I said in shock.

he Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Abdulmajid Ali, has ordered that mental test should be carried out on policemen in the command,

A statement by Zone 2 Command Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi said that Ali made this known during an educative session for officers and men of the zonal command at Onikan, Lagos.

Adejobi said the AIG also ordered drunkenness test on all personnel of the command to “avoid any accidental discharge or extrajudicial killing”.

The police boss reiterated his zero tolerance for corruption, excessive use of force, dirtiness, incivility to the public, drunkenness and unethical conducts that can damage the image of the Nigeria Police Force.

He seized the opportunity to challenge policemen to read and imbibe the spirit of love to all and sundry they come in contact with.

The AIG mandated the police medical unit to carry out drunkenness and mental checks on men (particularly those on operations) of the command to avoid any accidental discharge of extrajudicial killings.

Goodluck Jonathan has seriously debunked the widespread allegations that he has links with the Niger Delta Avengers or that he is sponsoring the deadly group.
The former president added that the allegation was being sponsored by those who were intimidated by his rising profile in Nigeria and abroad.
According to The Punch, the former President said this in a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, on Thursday.
There had been publications that the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government had begun probing Jonathan over alleged link to the Niger Delta Avengers.
The statement, however, said, “It is sad that the publications wore the cloak of deceit from the same misguided characters that are hell-bent on pulling down the former President despite his clear record of diligent service to his country and long-standing commitment to the good of the society.

“There is no doubt that there exists such people who may have scores to settle with the former President, but are now feeling frustrated by the fact that his national and international profiles have continued to rise despite their recourse to endless muck-raking character assassination. Such people will stop at nothing to continue to throw obstacles, albeit futilely, on his path.

“We are aware that the same people approached other well-meaning newspapers with the same false information, but they were wise to turn it down on account of its absurdity.”
Jonathan advised the media to be professional and do more of investigative reporting instead of making reference to allegations of aggrieved militants.
He said no responsible security agency would release such falsehood to the press.
The statement added, “From what we know about intelligence gathering, there is no responsible government agency that would rush, as claimed in the newspaper stories, to adopt the accusations of a questionable rebellious organisation as its own findings, without applying the professional processes of rigour and due diligence.

“Our media houses should be careful not to make the country a laughing stock by being hoodwinked into passing off the perverted voices of irritant groups as that of our well-respected official and security authorities.”
The ex-President said newspapers promoting spurious allegations against him were toying with libel and destroying the image of Nigeria.

Goodluck Jonathan has seriously debunked the widespread allegations that he has links with the Niger Delta Avengers or that he is sponsoring the deadly group.
The former president added that the allegation was being sponsored by those who were intimidated by his rising profile in Nigeria and abroad.
According to The Punch, the former President said this in a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, on Thursday.
There had been publications that the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government had begun probing Jonathan over alleged link to the Niger Delta Avengers.
The statement, however, said, “It is sad that the publications wore the cloak of deceit from the same misguided characters that are hell-bent on pulling down the former President despite his clear record of diligent service to his country and long-standing commitment to the good of the society.

“There is no doubt that there exists such people who may have scores to settle with the former President, but are now feeling frustrated by the fact that his national and international profiles have continued to rise despite their recourse to endless muck-raking character assassination. Such people will stop at nothing to continue to throw obstacles, albeit futilely, on his path.

“We are aware that the same people approached other well-meaning newspapers with the same false information, but they were wise to turn it down on account of its absurdity.”
Jonathan advised the media to be professional and do more of investigative reporting instead of making reference to allegations of aggrieved militants.
He said no responsible security agency would release such falsehood to the press.
The statement added, “From what we know about intelligence gathering, there is no responsible government agency that would rush, as claimed in the newspaper stories, to adopt the accusations of a questionable rebellious organisation as its own findings, without applying the professional processes of rigour and due diligence.

“Our media houses should be careful not to make the country a laughing stock by being hoodwinked into passing off the perverted voices of irritant groups as that of our well-respected official and security authorities.”
The ex-President said newspapers promoting spurious allegations against him were toying with libel and destroying the image of Nigeria.
