Webmasters / Things To Do Before Creating Your Website by techblogtips: 8:58am On Oct 24, 2016
When you are finally ready to create your own website you would need to choose from bunch of amazing website builders like Six, Drupal, Blogger, WordPress and lots more

This website builders have a lot of gorgeous templates and intuitive drag n’ drop editor, some also come with App Markets which is chock full of amazing Apps that will help liven up your site and numerous plugins to make the work easier.

Even though this website builders are easy to use, we should know that sometimes it takes a little more inspiration to get started and also creating a website is not restricted to you selecting a website builder and you are good to go, there are some other factors you would need to look into before fully launching your website to the world. Here are a few of the things you would need to get ready and set before you create your website.

Logo: Have you ever thought of a country without a flag, well if that happens then we can't even call them a country even if they have a name already. This also applies to your small business and website as they all benefit from a logo and symbol. Logos convey your values, tradition, and defines what you are identity and what you are going to offer. When designing your logo you need to make sure it is in line with the concept of your website, for example you are about to build a sport betting site and you decide to use a fruits as your logo, this would be awkward and out of place so.

So if you are not sure of what your brand is, then first ask yourself some questions like; What is the website about? Are you offering fresh, modern, innovative products? Is your website about offering the cheapest prices for service? Whatever the direction of your website or the line of business is, make sure your logo represents you right and speaks a lot about your product.

Useful Photos: Everyone loves to see cool photos on a webpage so does bots and crawlers so every website in turn requires different photos (photos of you, your products and also photos that tells the story). Since we are living an age which good images rule, you would need to choose your images carefully and make sure they are in high- resolution, speak a lot about your page and is of the best possible quality.

It is advisable to use strong and original photos as this kind of photos have an appeal that no stock photo can compete with. After selecting your desired photo and uploading it to your webpage you don't stop there as you need to check for image-text synchronization and you would also need to verify that your image and text echo and correlate with each other.

Content: Good text and content is the backbone of any website. This can attract clients and visitors if presented in the right way or can scare them off when it lacks focus or contains to many grammatical errors and typos. When creating a website you would need to pay close attention to what you write as this can make a huge difference. It is also important for you not to exhaust your visitors with long, ‘essay’ style contents. These days people respond best to strong images with short and elegant descriptions. Most websites consists of a home page, an about page, and a contact page so you would need to make sure you have the appropriate text for all these pages.

Having a fast loading website is key to success on the Internet today as nobody loves a slow webpage and everyone wants to get information fast and in realtime. So except you are new in the system it is a know fact that the faster your site loads, the less likely people are to bounce and it is more they would interact more with your site whether by reading your content, adding comments, or making a purchase on your webpage.

The problem with webpages is that regardless of how much work you do to optimize codes, images, databases, and server on your website so as to maximize speed, you would still remain at the mercy of the network which is between the service your site is hosted on and the end user of your site. This connection and loading may not make much of a difference if the distance between this two is short, but if the person who is accessing your web page is in another far away continent, the time it would take to load and render your website may increase and be many times longer than when it is compared to accessing the website locally.

This is where the function of a content delivery network (CDN) comes to play as a content delivery network would help you to speed up your website in part, this is done by shortening the distance between the person who is visiting your website and the server which is delivering your content. This service would help distribute and cached your site, or at least some of the elements of your site on servers across the globe. This way, if a user is accessing your site from the U.S, Australia, China, or the U.K., they would be able to load your content from a local server instantly instead of having to wait for it to be provided to them by your source server. Doing this can have a significant huge impact on the time your website loads while also reducing the strain on your hosting server also having a content delivery network for your website can also save you a fortune of bandwidth costs.

Almost all of the top online retailers, stores, download portals, banks, portals, brokers, and lots more make use of a content delivery network. There are a lot of free services that you can use for this though with the range of options and pricing plans available on the net today a content delivery network is something that just about every webmaster and online businessman should look into so as to have a better web environment.

To help you get started and select the best of all offering this service here is a list of the top ten best commercial content delivery networks that you can choose from.

MaxCDN
Incapsula
CDNetworks
CDN77
Akamai
CloudFlare
EdgeCast
CDNsun
Amazon CloudFont
Limelight Networks
Windows Azure
CDNlion.com
KeyCDN
CacheFly
Level 3

That's all for now so I hope you would find one from the above list to choose from.

Yesterday we took time to write on The Power Of OBA of Benin And Why He Covers His Mouth HERE https://www.nairaland.com/3421549/power-oba-benin-why-he

Today lets talk on 5 Forbidden Things To Do At OBA Of Benin Palace

Its no longer news that the Benin kingdom now has a new King Oba Ewuare ll N'Ogidigan

Visitors would be visiting the Oba Of Benin Palace from different part of the world to pay homage to the king and it is pertinent to let you know that there are 5 Forbidden Things To Do At OBA Of Benin Palace.

Kindly read along with me and digest this information very well else you become guilty of a serious offense

1 Pointing : Pointing of fingers at either the Oba or any of his chiefs are not allowed at the Oba’s palace.Even The Oba himself does not point fingers at anyone as well, except if he want to bless or curse another individual.

Pointing in Benin kingdom is seen as an act with in-depth spiritual meaning therefore, anyone who does this is immediately arrested by the security guards of the palace known as the Ifienwenro for questioning and possible punishment. The Ifienwenro is a ‘spiritual’ guard whose major duty is to wade off spiritual attack against the Oba. They are usually clad in brown wrapper skirts with armlets around them. After arrest, the offender is usually compelled to take an oath before confessing or giving explanations for pointing fingers at the Oba. In some cases, the offender is asked to present certain animals as sacrifice.

2 Black apparel: Black as a colour typifies mourning in many cultures. since it is a taboo for the Oba to mourn, no matter the circumstance, he is not allowed to set eyes on Black apparel. As a result, anyone wearing a Black apparel is not allowed entrance into the palace, especially if the person has the intention of having audience with the Oba.

3 Male visitors to the royal harem : No male visitor of any kind is allowed near the royal harem. The royal harem include the queen as well as other wives and concubines belonging to the Oba. This regulation is so severe that the members of the harem, especially the queen, are not even allowed a touch from their father or brother. The only males allowed to approach the harem are designated male offspring from the royal family, males with blue blood.

4 Dogs : In the precolonial times, after human sacrifice was abolished, dogs were used in many communities as substitutes to human offerings or just for special sacrifices. If you have visited the Oba’s palace, you would discover that dogs on their own, as though they have a premonition, do not venture into the palace or run around it while playing. Any Dog that strays within dies immediately .

5 Banga (palm oil fruits)on the head : While Banga soup is notably consumed by people in Benin City, carrying its source (the palm oil fruit) on your head in or around the palace is strictly prohibited. Also, a vehicle loaded with the palm oil fruit is also not allowed through the streets surrounding the Oba’s palace. The palm kernel is usually red in colour, same colour as blood, and it is believed that the palm fruits at the Oba’s palace or around it means that the land will take blood, and usually someone around would have to die. It is considered a bad sign and an omen. In a situation where someone, possibly a visitor, fails to adhere to this rule, an animal is essentially sacrificed to the Ogun Oba as soon as possible, to avert impending death or catastrophe.

Stay tuned for a future elaboration on 5 Forbidden Things To Do At OBA Of Benin Palace. "Oba gha tokpere" Itse meaning Long lives the king, Amen.

You don't contest to become the Oba of Benin. You are born into it from the cradle. The "Edaiken", the heir apparent to the Benin throne is almost as powerful as his father even though he too has his limitations just like the Oba of Benin is also constrained by some of the traditional laws of the kingdom.

The "Edaiken" title in Benin history is totally unique. He is usually the first son of a reigning Oba. He usually does not die until has had a chance to succeed his father even if it is for one day. What a Backward tradition. His decision isnt supreme any longer. His so called decision shd be supreme on eradication or reduction of prostitution in Edo

If the Oba gets angry with you, you can begin to sing your "Nunc Dimitis" if the Oba goes into the inner chamber of the Palace to put on his special red toga or garment otherwise known as "Ododo" and if he curse you out wearing that garment. There is no way in the world you can ever get rid of that curse. That is why The Yorubas acknowledge him in their cognomen as "Afinju Oba Ado Otolu Apara O ro pupa bi Odide" meaning "the gutsy Benin king that is as powerful as the thunder who wears the red like the magical tail feathers of the parrot"

Greetings all lovers of information

Today I decided to write a little about the Benin tradition which is difficult for an ordinary man to understand . Yesterday 20th October, 2016 Oba Ewuare ll N'Ogidigan ascended the revered throne of his ancestors to become the 40th Oba of Benin, succeeding his late father, Omo n’Oba n’Edo Uku Akpolopkolo, Oba Erediauwa and its all over the internet that why is the oba and wives covering their mouth with white cloth? SEE https://www.nairaland.com/3421009/why-oba-benin-covering-mouth

In Benin there is only one supreme deity and that is God Almighty Himself (Ajakaiye Apara). His only representative and second-in-command on Earth in the psyche of the Benin or Edo people is only one person.

It is no one else but the Oba of Benin who is a god in his own right that nobody fools around with. Whatever he says is final. He usually covers his mouth because when he talks he is the supreme authority. People talk on his behalf most of the time and whatever they proclaim "ex cathedra" like the Pope becomes the Law with immediate effect.

The Benin people are something else. They don't joke or play around with their traditional values but more so with their Oba. Even though the first Church in Nigeria was built by the Portuguese in Benin City, most Christian household in Benin still have little shrines in a corner of their home they still believe in. You will never see the Oba of Benin go to any Church to kneel down before any pastor.

A little story I heard about Omoba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo the late Oba Oba Akenzua the father of Erediauwa, the late Oba of Benin. Oba Akenzua had lived till close to 90 years of age. Once upon a time a Benin man who became very rich did something nobody has ever done in Benin. He ventured into one of the private estate or lands of Oba Akenzua in Benin City. Even though there was a sign placed on the property to announce that trespassers must keep off because the huge plot of lands belongs to Oba the Oba of Benin.

The man for reasons best known to him had ignored the warnings to start building some mansions on the land. When the news got to Kabiyesi Otolu Apara in the palace, he asked for the man to be brought to the Palace to answer a few questions and to ask if he ever saw the warnings placed on the property. Of course the man came running to the Palace in a heartbeat. The Palace Chiefs were the people who cross-examined him in the presence of Kabiyesi Ogiso himself who did not utter a word.

The man's explanation would shock you. The man simply admitted he built the houses on the plot of land and that he was fully aware that the land belonged to the Oba of Benin. He then added the coup de grace. He asked the Palace chiefs, "What are you people talking about? Who owns the whole of Edo Kingdom, the land and all the people living in it himself included? He described his own father and mother and he as the property of the Oba talk less of the row of houses he has built on the Land. He told them all the houses belong to the Oba and he delivered all the documents to the houses to Kabiyesi on the spot shouting "Oba gha tokpere" and reeling on the ground.

That was how the man got himself out of trouble. What did Oba Akenzua do next? He gave him back the documents to the house telling him he has dashed him the houses and the land. He then proceeded to make him the custodian to all of the Oba's land in the area from that moment on. That was Oba Akenzua at his best.

Oba Erudiuawa was on record to have kept the former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan waiting in his guest room for hours on one occasion before he would come out to receive the President. When he finally came out, he told the President not what the President wanted to hear, but what he needed to hear loud and clear that the Oba of Benin and the Benin votes are not up for sale.

He actually told the President he was happy with the performance of Governor Oshiomhole and has ordered his people to vote him back to office because the Governor has performed. The way the Oba of Benin still carries himself is totally different from the way his peers elsewhere carry themselves.

The day he is born he ceases to be his mother's child and he becomes the property of the kingdom. He is taken away from his mother and raised and empowered by the caucus of wizards like they say in Benin and given all the and leverage he would need to fulfill his destiny without let or hindrance.

He is not allowed to see his father face-to-face but is allowed to communicate with his father in some traditional ways. His own mother who used to be killed in times gone by is now specially honored. She lives in the "Iye Oba" Palace specially built for her not too far from where his son the Edaiken's Palace is built in Uselu. The Benin system is a well-structured Dynasty a replica of which you will not find anywhere else in Nigeria.

Benin is a great kingdom in Nigeria. Nobody is going to know the incumbent has passed until the "Edaiken" is enthroned and crowned the king. The Oba of Benin does not die as a rule. He only makes his transition into the realm of spirits. He still hangs around in the Palace and still participates in spiritual matters affecting the kingdom. The Oba of Benin derives his mighty power and authority in his kingdom from that belief and conviction. If you offend the Oba of Benin, or you are fighting the king you are not just fighting one person, you are fighting all of his previous predecessors in the spiritual realm. It is a battle you cannot win as the Esama of Benin Chief Igbenedion would tell you.

Webmasters / How To Optimize Website For Search Engines by techblogtips: 10:08am On Oct 21, 2016
If you are serious about creating a website and you want your website to become big and visible to millions of people then you need to start thinking about SEO from scratch. This is optimizing some parts of your website so that it can be easily discovered and highly ranked by search engines like Google, Bing, etc. Being on the second, third or tenth page of a keyword search result is as good as not appearing at all as most people would surely get what they need from the first page, and am sure that is where you would want to be.

Since most search engines are quite more sophisticated in determining which sites show up on top of the search results today, you would need to know at least some basic information about SEO so as to keep your site and its content in line with what search engines are looking for in a website. This article covers the key factors in that should be in your website so as to be picked up and ranked higher by search engine bots.

Keywords: This is one of the most important part of on page SEO, a website without keywords as less chance of ranking high on any search engine. Keywords are simply the terms which people enter as a search query when they’re looking for something on the net. You would need to determine which keywords are relevant to what you offer on your new website. You would have to first make a list of every term that which you think has one thing or the other to do with your business or website niche, after you would need to then narrow it down to the 10 most relevant of all you have listed. You will then insert these 10 selected keywords in various strategic pages and post on your site as organically as possible.

For example if your website relates to a local business, you would need to make sure the keywords also include your location. Your website address should also contain your brand name and top keyword. Keeping your domain name simple and straightforward is best.

Local Directories: You would need to publish and submit your new website in local directories like Google+, Foursquare, Stumbleupon, Yelp and others as this can help in SEO. When doing this always use an identical format for your Name, Address, and Phone so that you will be easily recognized by people and bots.

Social media sharing tools: When building your website you would need to make sure you add a social media sharing tools so as to make people share it with others in just a click. You would need to give your users the ability to share your contents on a variety of social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Google+, Pinterest and lots more). Not only does this expand your outreach and read but it also helps in SEO as this makes search bots crawl your pages faster.
