how do it get d gear scanned, is it d same people that scan engine that scan gear?

pls i need help with my Honda Accord 2005( EOD),it's automatic gear but when am driving out if d gear want to change from gear 1-2 it usually delay as if it's manual.
this only happens when changing from gear 1-2 but while on motion, changing to other gear number is not like that, is something wrong with my gear? pls kindly educate me thanks
