Budget minimum of #1500 per bird,it might be more or less till dey start laying,cage is around #45,000- #50,000 for 96 birds,u might need 5 of that,i really dont knw how much it will cost to build d pen,u can call carpenter to estimate that for u

well, all I wrote there were out of experience, the first and the last time I ordered for pol from a farm, and like I said, it's still better to raise the bird since its more economical and will give the farmer more know about the heath status of his birds.

U said first and last that means u got ur pol from wrong source and u assume pol is bad, not all farmer can raise their birds frm day old especially if dey re new in it,they find their self burning their fingers

I'm in the process of starting a poultry farm with 1000 point of lay (17 weeks old).

I intend to go for ISA BROWN breeds from CHI hatchery. Since chi hatchery only sells day old chicks, i ran a search on the internet and discovered that i could get my 17 weeks old point of lay from Poultry Plaza.

I'm also aware that the success of any poultry farmer depends on the source of your birds (hatchery) and the brooding.

I need experienced/practicing poultry farmers who have patronized poultry Plaza in the past to kindly confirm the quality and performance of laying birds bought from poultry plaza. This will go a long way in helping me make my decision.

I'm open to more valuable suggestions to enable me get the best point of lay birds.

My advice to u,if u are buying your pol open your eyes wide,if u notice d birds are sick,waka fast fast dont buy,have bin in this poultry business for years,and i have people i have supplied pol on nairaland and we re still in contact till date,some of them are even new in d business and am putting them tru and dey re enjoying their birds ,call me on 09093624623,lets give u good pol from good source

my candid advise to you is to raise your pullets yourself, don't make the mistake of buying any point of lay. You may regret it, it's more like gambling. Now let me tell you some of the reasons why I wouldn't advise you to buy POL.

* The farmer selling a POL already had it in mind that the point of lay would be sold, so little or no appropriate care would be given to the birds like he would do if he were to brood them for himself.

*Medication: The treatment plan for raising the pullet is another major factor, some farmers don't even care to prepare medical record, no life history and the way your pullets is being raised will determine there egg productions.

* Another factor, a farmer may decide to sell out his point of lay maybe as a result of a particular crisis that he could not cure, say an outbreak or a particular disease. Instead of losing the birds, he will then decide to sell them off and unknowingly you, you will buy them and start facing the challenges too

In summary, it's not advisable to buy point of lay, it's even cheaper and economical when you raise them yourself.
