There is no need to make a payment for an application that has elapsed. But if you must do, it would be used for another application via uni-assist.

However, if you have no other application that goes through uniassist...then just hold on to your cash.

Look elsewhere?...I didnt mean next application phase but another program for this winter.

Viele Grüße!
you Mean is not all schools n Winter Programs that has May 31st as their deadlines if am not mistaken, that means I can still apply to some schools and winter programs that their deadline is stil far, for example deadlines to apply to some school and winter program which is stil June/july...so I can try such schools for Winter 2016 ryt?
TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by teeghost: 9:32pm On May 30, 2016
UncleJudax:
You can pay after deadline, but it wont be for this particular application. All application docs and payment must get to them before deadline. And you may not know this: Uniassist has an internal deadline that is typically 14 days to the school's.

Have you checked your status on your portal? Did you contact uni-assist to enquire about the receipt/not of your package?

In reality, if 31st is the deadline, I think you should look elsewhere, because it takes about 3days to confirm a transfer to uniassist...

The odds are not favourable.
@uncleJudaz, thanks so much for the explanation, really appreciate your time but do you mean, even if I make the payment, it will not be for this Winter Semester Anymore simply because I didn't meet up with the date 31st of May being the deadling?....Looking elsewhere,- are u saying I should also forget abt Winter 2016 n look forward to another intake since av not make the payment and no receipt of my documents Yet?

@Helenmi, Bartork...I support you guys on ya views abt reading from Part 1-3...what the gurus don't understand is that...most of you started from the begining of this wonderful thread(I.e u r d Pioneers)..asking the Newbies to read from Part 1-3...haba, dis is a bit hard, We understnd that u r our Egbon in dis forum, but you should also knw that just part 1 of dis forum is like 430+ pages, 430 x3= 1290, haba that's like a whole semester's Textbook and some of this newbies are using glasses sef...lmao..and some don't even have enough time to go through the thread all the time...Sincerely, am not talking for myself atal, because when I was introduced to this particular forum last year, I was doing my youth Service in a village,in Kano, held some Vital posts dat neva mde me had time for myself coupled with two professional exams I did and power supply in d village I served will still not allow me to read up to Ten pages wiv the little time I had to go through dis thread before my phone goes off but I was stil able to read from part 1 page 422-350 den( reading it backward)..lol, completed my youth service last month, so I av Continued from where I stopped cos I cud remember when I asked few questions d first time I got here, the first person dat replied me was Stevemin(am sure he's in germany ryt nw) he answered me Politely, followed by Ichommy, and Stevemin said he guess have nt gone through the previous posts, dat I should do so n thank him later...twas later the person dat introduced me to dis forum (Fapper) gve me d orientation dat I should stop asking question If I don't want to be attacked or insulted, so I listened to him simply because I don't insult nor disrespect people and I feel very bad wen people do dat to me,..

To be sincere with you all, am stil reading Part 2, cos Its informative n am getting a lot of infos, and I laugh a lot wen am reading people's comment at times, its more dan A.Y or basketmouth comedy...

But am using this medium to plead with our Egbon in dis room, its not easy to go through the whole pages from part 1-3,pls, help the newbies in every little way you can, though You guys have provided informations that's worth more dan what those Olodo Agents are charging from 500-800k for. And nobody can thank you enough for Your Voluntary services, but am sure one thing...God will surely Reward you guys....Thanks to y'all

Williamso:
Moin Leute!

I think I should post this (hopefully no error of judgement).
Recently there has been a lot of talk about English proficiency and all. Personally, I didn't write any exam as I saw it as an insult to be subjected to the same language test as people who've learned English for only a year or more (a part of me still tries to justify that while another part thinks that was very myopic of me). This greatly limited the number of schools I could apply to, and while I did get accepted in a few schools, I got rejected by a lot, with one explicitly rejecting me for a lack of "exam based English proficiency certificate" (the old ones here and the ones who have read the thread might remember that minidebacle from part 2 grin).

I was quite lucky I was going for a Masters program that's IT related hence I had many options and I started the process quite early before many schools deadlines had elapsed. For people aspiring to other programs, you may not be that lucky, especially the BSc hopefuls. And even most of the top schools explicitly require it (z.B. RWTHA).

My advice would be to not be as myopic as I was and write these exams; it broadens your chances and gives you an edge over people with "letter". And if you think it's expensive, what do you have to lose? You're going to spend over 2mil on blocked account, a fraction of that is not a bad idea, or is it?

And for those that would decide not to for one reason or the other, don't come here begging people to do research for you: it's simultaneously irritating and annoying, and gives the impression of laziness and/or lack of online-resource-finding skills, the latter which is very important during the course of your studies.

Have a great TOEFL/IELTS applying/writing week all smiley
I support you mein bruder, that's just the fact,

#mythoughtthou..lol

To those that want to apply to Msc programs in schools within Lower Saxony but with low GP, I think this might worth checking out. I got it in one of the schools in Lower Saxony website.

"As a result of an amendment of the Higher Education Act of Lower Saxony (NHG), applications for consecutive Master degree programmes in 2016 are no longer subject to the minimum grade point average of 2.5. The relevant section of the admission regulations in §2(3) is being amended. Other admission requirements, such as previous knowledge of the subject or English or German skills remain unaffected by this."

Ya write up is informative and educative...nice one...thanks

quote author=lmuhopeful post=44886187]I guess I can speak a little about life in Germany (at least Munich) since I've been here since October. I will make a few headings and speak about them and if anyone wants to know something specific they can ask here and not my inbox so that others will benefit:

1)Education: The study has been fantastic. I'm doing the Geophysics masters at LMU and the professors are very smart. Our math professor at the institute is just 28 years old with his PhD from France. The computing facilities are top notch and the professors have very well cited papers. Examinations are quite tough so you have to brace up when coming here and the grading is also different from Naija. To score a 1.0 here you need 95% and above. In general anything above 2.5 is considered good especially if an institute is doing high quality research.

2) Housing: This is always a big challenge especially for newcomers. Living in the center can be quite expensive but if one is lucky, you can get a cheap place in the center or even if you live out of the center, the U-Bahn and S-Bahn are there to transport you. I advise to check the distance between an apartment and your class before moving in. In any case, read your rental contract before you sign. You are normally allowed to leave an apartment with a 3-month notice. However ensure that your landlord hasn't put any clause that states that you have to stay a minimum number of months. Such a clause is known as "Kündigungsverzicht" which means termination clause. If you are lucky you can also get the Studentenwerk housing; they are cheap, with many students and there's never a dull moment. I suggest that people coming over should bring some extra money in case you have to stay in a youth hostel for a month or so.

3)Transport: The semester ticket covers transport within the city. I don't know if this applies to every single state but here in Bavaria and also in Baden-Wurttemberg it does. It costs us around 150€ and it lasts the whole semester; for example my semester ticket for this semester starts on April 1 and ends by September 30. You can ride all regular forms of transport(bus, train, tram etc) except for high speed trains like the ICE or special purpose buses or trains (you don't need those mostly anyways except you want to travel to another state or country). Also since you may have to buy this ticket once you arrive I suggest you budget some money for this.

4) Student job: It's very possible to get jobs here will studying. I don't know much about hustling but some others on this thread can help with that. However I suggest that once you get here, approach your professors to ask for a HiWi (student assistant) job. The hours are flexible and the pay is fair. Some of my classmates started HiWi's immediately and earned a lot. With a HiWi your can work and learn simultaneously. You can also ask for a job at a bar or as a Au Pair(to take care of a family's kids). In any case my personal suggestion is that don't start to hustle once you get here. The study is very intensive and the gradings are tough so it may be good to focus on the first semester and maybe start to hustle from the holidays. In this case you have to start looking for a job before exam starts so that you can start immediately after exam.

5) People: I've enjoyed every moment here and I look forward to the remaining time. People are mostly nice and are happy to show you the way. Talk to people and be nice and you'll meet many lovely people. If you drink beer then it's a nice way to meet new people. My classmates regularly organise drink nights. If you like clubs you can also enjoy here. There is hardly any violence in the clubs unlike some Naija clubs. I remember a club in Jos where the bouncer almost killed one small guy for reasons no one understood. People smoke a lot of cigarettes too and if you like the plant(erm....weed) wink then you can find dealers here tho it's coded since it's not allowed.

6) Food: I don't really know since I mostly eat bread, spaghetti, dodo, garri and Mensa food. The Mensa is the student canteen and you get the Mensa card to pay for your food. I don't like to cook so I can't tell you much about Naija food. If Cahnellven comes to the thread he can tell you about Naija food. Me, and Eke40seven were at his place to eat Fufu on New Year's grin

7) Babes: There are many tight babes here from various countries. I haven't hit any yet except for making out. If you like to cold approach women then you can get lucky. I remember cold approaching a French girl who was here on vacation but I couldn't log in wink coz she was returning that evening. For the babes on this thread, well, don't worry, guys will approach you(that's our job wink )

cool African people: There are many Africans here in all society levels, from workers to refugees. I visited a refugee camp and I even met Nigerians there and I wondered why there were Igbo and Yoruba refugees but e no konsyn me huh In general Africans often ignore each other when they walk past themselves but I think this is normal. It is part of a person's security to not smile at every African person you see simply because you are both black. Sometimes I smile and nod to African people in the train or if I think the person is responsible.

9) German Language: I suggest that you try to learn as much as possible before coming even if your study, like mine, is in English. You can live fine in big cities without German but some hustling may be impossible without German. Don't worry it's only difficult in the beginning. Die Anfänge sind in der Regel schwierig wink

That's all for now. If there is something else anyone wants to know I can write about it. But I can't write about the visa or application process coz I'm forgetting those gradually and perhaps few things may have changed Also I know it's not easy but try not to worry about your visa or whether the fact that your name on your birth certificate ends with 'b' and in your waec certificate it ends in 'o'. The visa guys aren't problematic as long as your docs are complete.[/quote]
