The management of Obafemi Awolowo University has reached an agreement regarding the reopening of the great citadel of learning. Recall that the institution was shut down after the students protested against the negligence of the OAU health centre which led to the death of a Part 4 student, Omowunmi Aishat.

The school is now set to reopen academic and administration activities on the 6th of November, 2021. This was contained in a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the institution in a course to declare the outcome of the "Emergency meeting".

"Hence students are to move into halls of residence on the 5th of November and the continuation of examinations can start right away on the 6th of November. Parents and guardians are to take note of this information so there would be no excuse of ignorance."
