I don't think the date matters, what matters is our intentions & since we have decided to celebrate His birth on the 25th & not some "Sun god", there is nothing wrong. Read Romans 14 especially verses 5 and 6 Vs 5: One man esteemeth one day above another, another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind Vs 6: He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord & he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. Hope this helps.
yes its of help...but lets others speak.... |
Abu Mikey:yours is a different case.... not about my post....... So you better meet a counselor for advice... |
aManFromMars: Did you get her post?clear and loud.... |
naijafresh: This is the statement you should have made earlier rather than condemning all music as satanic because they do not directly praise God.christianity is in need of a reformer and reorientation |
OlaoChi: Actually Jews(that is an Israeli) are mostly into Judaism which is the true religion of IsraelWe need a reformer in christendom. What do you think? |
25th December (christmas): what's the take of the Mormons? |
Danhumprey: Jesus wasn't born on December 25th. We don't know exactly when he was born. The people who witness His birth didn't record the date he was born. And if in reality they did, nowhere in the Bible was it revealed! Celebrating 25th December as the exact date in which Jesus was born is entirely wrong! It's an offshoot of a pagan tradition, and following that tradition is plain Idolatory!Good, majority of christians are in christmas while the minority are against it. Just look at the criticism following Pastor KUMUYI now just for saying xmas is idolatrous. Its a pity stage for christendom |
Sammy1262: SniperInADiaper pls who are Mormons? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the official name of the religion commonly called the Mormon Church. We believe first and foremost that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and the Son of God. |
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints otherwise known as the Mormons believe in the existence of God. Its the only true church upon the surface of the earth. For more info visit: www.lds.org or www.mormon.org |
u ar right, I see nothing good in christmas. Christ was not born 25th Dec. The likes of the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witnesses and now joining them are the Deeper life Ministry have all seen reasons to tell the world truly christmas is vanity... for not following the multitudes.... Thumps up to PASTOR W. F. KUMUYI!!! |
Good declaration, the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses now have deeper life joining them against 25th December. Nice one... |
A mormon friend of mine told me that it is vanity celebrating 25th December as the birthday of Jesus Christ. Since Christ was never born around this time, celebrating 25th December with the world is as worthless as going to church without repentance. According to him mormons preferred to celebrate the death of Christ to the birth. The questions are why celebrating 25th Dec. If truly is not His birthday... when was Jesus born? |
For this naija Wetin we never see or hear? A lot of people go to church because of the pastor in the church...they worship pastors as if these fellow men are God. Daddy/mummy is not a big deal in our churches.... |
wordcat: Eckanka is a religion of its own never part of christianity. op take notewhat trash are you talking about? Tell me where they belong.... |
fijiano202: 0P learn not to criticize what you u dont know, going thru ur post i would guess u are a catholic,Pls try to face ur doctrines and dont criticize other churchs, with ur defination of Cult,it clearly proves that the likes of catholics, baptist, anglican,CAC almost all churches are Cultists cos our intepretations of the bible are different.I'm not of the catholics...the Bible is one hence there should be only one interpretation to it by all churches... If ur interpretation of the Bible is different from mine.... It means you belong to one of those cult parading as christian churches. |
bizmahn: @OP you've said it all.Since the time backslidden pastors and carnal christians began to preach only prosperity,Once saved Always saved and a "grace" that says that Christ has done everything for us & christians can now live with sins they like & yet get to make heaven, christianity became something else.If you mention "holiness" they call it legalism & traditions of men.Indeed, christianity needs reformation. |
How come the Bible is the focal point for defining cults?
Take it or leave it.... |
The OP should please tell us what a cult is
A cult is simply a group of people gathered about a specific person or person's mis-interpretation of the Bible. |
HOW IS WHITE GARMENT CHURCHES CULTIST AND WHAT CHURCH DO YOU ATTEND? They differs significantly in one or more respects as to belief or practice from those religious groups which are regarded as the normative expressions of religion in our total culture. |
The quest for power and recognition, the need to belong to a group of likeminded people, man's interest in knowing spiritual things, man's need for security and protection of life, position and properties, man's need to acquire prestige and influence, wealth happiness are the major reasons people look for short cut hence joining "cults".... What a pity ![]() |
boseko: It is true that some of these churches have seemingly fetish practices.yea, you are a good observer. They promote counterfeit movements that misrepresent the christian gosple. |
For some times now, powerful cult groups have been dominating christianity in the name of churches. These cult groups are made up of many deviations from historic christianity. Examples of cult groups parading as churches are; ECKANKAR, MORMONISM, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE, BAHA'ISM, WHITE GARMENT CHURCHES AND THE LIST IS ENDLESS.... WHERE DO YOU BELONG ![]() |
larrymoore: Christianity then was for the jew now it is western dominated.Hahahahahaha that kind thing.... |
this means corruption has find its way into the churches |
zolajpower: U are an hipocrites. Stop propagatin hatred and enemity. Is it a sin 2 dance? Dont u hv Tv or radio in ur house? Do u wear geans? If u are found wantin in all this then u are a chief of what u accuse people of. Dance is excercise and not sin."u are an hipocrites" hmmm only one person being an hipocrites? Anyway.... Dancing is not sin but there are sinful dance steps in churches today from the so called secular world. Take it or leave it.... |
leavestory: Those people saying songs that are not gospel songs or dances like etigi and azonto are satanic needs to check their brain!!!!!!!if u say songs that are not gospel songs are satanic what about brithday songs and national anthem like someone said,?and now they should tell us which dance is satanic because it seems they have seen satan worshippers dancing so it was azonto or etigi they were dancing abi?thank GOD those dance are african dance dem for even talk say illuminatis get the dance sef !!!no wonder this country is where it is today instead of people to work towards perfection they will be feeling they are perfect already, instead of them to pray to GOD to continue to lead them in the right way they will be busy doing na me born again pass!!!!!do they think the lord's prayer in the bible was for fun,it was written for us to recite because whether we like it or not we all have sinned!!!!we humans are sinners and that is why GOD said we should keep on asking for the forgiveness of our sin which was even included in the lord's prayer.start checking their brains. Thanks in advance.... |
whether you see them as african dance steps or songs....as long as they don't glorify God and tend towards promoting sexuality or immoral behaviours, creating special feelings for worldly desires, pleasures, and negative instincts, the simple name given to such is secular music/songs. |
the truth is always bitter.... Take it or leave it.... |
Justeenaleo: Ever heard of love songs?what's the essence of love songs? They are all satanic. Why singing love when there are no single signs of love in your life? love songs are used to arouse sexual feelings and this is satanic. |
cbrass: Infact it has gotten out of hand, I was invited to perform at one church's praise night, I was digusted and felt terribly shaken when some group of guys came out to sing Dagrins's song on the alter of God, by the time it God to my turn I didn't feel like coming out to perform, but I just had to honour those that invited me. I just played little and ran of the alter sorry stagethanks for sharing ur experience. That's just it.... One thing is these circular artists do not copy gosple artists. "an alter sorry stage indeed"!!! |
TVT KOKO: abeg spare me dat rubbish. U wan tel me say during Jesus tym, that kind music no dey exist?abi dem tel u say bros J ma no go party wey im for perform miracles?Hahahahahaha that kind party..... |
"then" 1. Christians used to be regarded as species from another planet. 2. Being born again was serious business 3. Persecutions were the order of the day – you were not a true born again Christian if you were not persecuted 4. Employers sought out Christians to fill key positions in their establishments 5. Christians were known for their integrity 6. Christians joyfully and readily face persecutions 7. Restitution wasn't strange 8. Holiness was the watchword 9. Hymns were part of Sunday Services 10. Messages from the pulpits were hard, rock-solid, bitter truths 11. Pastors were feared but revered 12. ‘Real’ visible miracles accompanied sermons 13. Christians eagerly volunteered for missionary postings to hinterlands just to preach God’s word 14. Christians were seen as solution providers – because the Holy Spirit was very visible in their lives 15. The Holy Bible was a prized possession for Christians 16. Christians didn't need to go to Bible Schools to learn The Bible; The Holy Spirit was a ready teacher. "NOW": 1. You are not ‘cool’ if you are not born again 2. Everyone – even practicing prostitutes – is born again 3. The word persecution is no more in our dictionaries as Christians 4. Employers avoid ‘Christians’ like a plague 5. Christians and integrity are like ‘word and opposite’ 6. Christians willingly and speedily deny Christ at the slightest hint of persecution 7. Nothing like restitution in our doctrines 8. Holiness is a strange word 9. Hymns have been thrown out of the window by most churches 10. Messages are now motivational talks and shows 11. Pastors are regarded with scorn 12. Money has to exchange hands for miracles to happen – sale of holy water/ olive oil; special consultation sessions with the ‘Man of God’ after payment of consultation fee! 13. Missionaries to the hinterlands are extinct – replaced with pastoral postings to ‘juicy’ parishes 14. The impact of Christians is no more visible 15. The Holy Bible is seen like any other book – decorating shelves 16. To fully understand The Bible and preach the word, one has to go through a bible school; The Holy Spirit is no more audible WHY ![]() |
