scromatan: UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN 2018/2019 POST-UTME RESULTS AND PROCESSING OF ADMISSIONS You will recall that the Post-UTME Screening for the 2018/2019 Admission Exercise at the University of Ibadan held on Friday 14th September and Saturday 15th September, 2018. The conduct of the screening has been adjudged to be quite outstanding by all the parties concerned including the candidates themselves, their parents and guardians. A total of 17,956 candidates sat for the screening. Out of these, 11,730 scored 50% and above, this representing 65.3% of the total number of candidates. For the avoidance of doubt, only those candidates who scored 50% and above are eligible for consideration for admission. The highest score at the Post-UTME screening was by Anyanwu Favour Chinazaekpere who obtained 90%, and is seeking admission into Communication and Language Arts. Other high scorers at the Post UTME include four candidates who scored 89% and five candidates who scored 88%.
Table 1: Name and performance of top scorers at the UI Post-UTME for 2018/2019
Name Post-UTME Score (%) Anyanwu Favour Chinazaekpere 90 Chineke Ugochukwu Romanus 89 Ifejika Vincent Ikechukwu 89 Ogunjimi Deborah Temitope 89 Olaniran Oluwamayomikun Eunice 89 Adebayo Akinkunmi Emmanuel 88 Onakoya Precious Olubusayo 88 Adeleye Oreoluwa Boluwatife 88 Abraham Faith Ifeoluwapo 88 Matthew Shalom Olaoluwa 88
The aggregate score for each candidate has since been computed and same communicated to the candidates on their admission portals. The next stage is for meetings of the Faculty Admissions Committee to be convened to select candidates for admission by setting the cut-off marks from the aggregate scores. The criteria for these include Merit, Catchment and Educationally-Less-Developed States. The meetings will hold from Wednesday, 26th September till Friday, 28th September, 2018. The list of admitted candidates will be published soon after.
While we appreciate the anxiety by the candidates and their parents and guardians, we strongly appeal to all our stakeholders to exercise a little more patience while the decisions of the various Admissions Committees would be communicated as soon as possible.
Thank you and God bless.

Eben331: Someone should pls solve these. 1. C6H12O6 + 12O2 -- 6CO2 + 6H2O Molar mass of the carbohydrate = 180g Using first principle.. 180g --- 264g 180000-- y y = 180000 x 264/ 180 y - 264kg 2. still on it 3. Volume = 50cm^3 1cm^3 - 1g T1 -- 293K T2 -- 307K H = Mc * change in theta = 50 x 4.2 x (307 - 293) = 2940J Find the amount of Hcl that will liberate 2940J Molar concentration = Amount/Volume 2 = a/ 0.05 a = 0.1 Therefore. . 0.1 mole liberate 2940J of energy 1 mole will liberate 1 x 2940/ 0.1 -- 29400J x 2 58800j or so ... I'm not sure about this one, will check later.. 4. From the second law of electrolysis... m/M x c = m/M xc 0.16/64 x 2 = m/32 x 4 5 x 10^-3 = 4m/32 4m = 0.16 m = 0.04 Therefore. . 32g---- 22.4 --------- 0.04 --- p 22.4 x 0.04/32 = p p -- 0.028dm^3 |

4P + 5O2 --- 2P2O5
Using first principle. .
5 x 22.4dm3 of O2 ---- 284 of P2O5
y --- 35g
Cross multiply..
35 x 5 x 22.4= 284y
3920 = 284y
y = 13.80dm3
Since oxygen contains 20cm3 by 100cm3 of air
20 --- 100
13800 --- x
20x = 1380000
x = 69dm3 or 69000cm3 |

Adolak: This is wrong. The question is to find mass. Not mass conc.
Then you used the H conc instead of OH concentration as it is NaOH.
I got 0.0202g though. Don't know if I'm correct Ph + Poh = 14
Poh = 14 - 10.5
= 3.5
Poh = -(log10OH)
3.5 = -LogOH
OH = Antilog -3.5
= Antilog 0.5 x Antilog -4.0
= 3.162 x 10^ -4
Since concentration = 3.16x 10 ^-4
Mass is unknown
Molar mass = 40g
Volume = 0.8dm3
C = n/v
Where the terms take their usual meaning.
3.16x 10^-4 x 0.8 = amount
amount = 2.528 x 10^-4
Amount = mass/molar mass
mass = amount x molar mass
= 2.528 x 10^-4 x 40g
mass = 101.12 x 10 ^-4
= 0.0101g.. |
