The issue is that there is this sentiment that Cameroon and other African countries must host it.
Most North African countries and South Africa have that kind of technology but they want other countries to host it.
My take is that, the afcon should be shifted to June (as it has been for the last few years) and then, it should be hosted by the African country
with the best technology.
Cameroon can in the mean time work on their technology so that they can host the Afcon in June. Caf should give Cameroon or other African countries 5 years to acquire this technology. With time, other African countries will learn to have the capacity to host afcon in June.
Cameroon cannot hold everybody to ransom because they want to host the afcon when they are not ready.
The best thing is to try and develop the technology and capacity themselves

That's a whole different conversation. The crux of our discuss has been how Europeans have tried to influence the timing of AFCON.

The players are Africans and have the right to express their displeasure about the timing, none has so far (at least openly).

Not really. Afcon historically has always been in January. The difference now is many European clubs now depend on quite a lot of African players.

Africa shouldn't have to bend. The timing is in itself part of hour history. FIFA should either declare every January that AFCON holds an international break, or clubs should just get used to this. If the date should change it should be because Africa wants to not because we are bending over backwards to suit their needs

For many decades now, African players have become important members of many European clubs. Key players... Players that they depend on..
When AFCON is around the corner, they risk losing those players..
There's hardly any AFCON tournament approaching where you won't hear of clubs complaining about it..Klopp's remark about the tournament was just the latest one...
It has been happening for long, and covid-19 has provided the perfect opportunity for the European clubs to finally get one over CAF.

In case you don't know, the European club association has written to FIFA to postpone the tournament due to the pandemic..
The same ECA complained several times when FIFA moved the world cup to Qatar...

It has nothing to do with conspiracy...It's just the selfishness of the European clubs at play..

The Europeans have never liked the idea of the AFCON taking place in January for obvious reasons.. The covid-19 pandemic has given them a good reason to further push for it's cancelation..

Meanwhile,the Euros, Copa America and gold cup went ahead in the summer without fuss...

I hope CAF would be bold enough to resist it...
