Peter Obi appears to believe that shouting at every opportunity, with a voice that resonates with a 10 year old little girl, is a substitute for substance. He inserts himself into virtually every national issue, and the moment people respond to his endless commentary, his intellectually lazy followers start chanting that "everyone is talking about him."

Predictably, the next round of self-delusion will be the familiar refrain that Peter Obi is "in every Nigerian's mouth," as though attracting rebuttals is the same thing as earning respect.

CareerRe: Should I Tell My Younger Brother To Quit His Job ? by temi2008: 4:57pm On Jun 29
NassBoy:
Let me go straight to the point;

So, my kid brother(26) got a job in an Hotel as it's facility supervisor.
When he started(June 1st, 2026) this job, he wasn't given an appointment letter. He was only told that about his operational duties and salary(100k) for the first month, and 120k the next month and subsequently.
He started. The next day, he was sent to the market to go procure a few items needed for fumigation. According to him, his Boss(Director) didn't give him the money before he left the hotel, rather, he was told to go to the market and verify the prices of each item and move from shop to shop to ensure a proper bargain for all items before money could be sent.
The long and short is, the Boss is very cruel, hostile, mean and highly inconsiderate. The hotel is less than a year, but the boss had changed four supervisors. My brother demanded to know his working hours and it became a problem. How can u employ someone and you want him to work 24/7 running up and down, not even a sleep at night is possible because my brother must Ensure that the hotel never has a blackout. There's inverter, NEPA and Gen. But he never allows Gen to be ON and he discourages the use of NEPA except to charge the inverters' batteries. There's energy Consumption report to be compiled and sent every morning, do room checks too, do technical jobs, supervise cleaning, ensure security of the hotel, etc . My brother said doing all these isn't the problem, but the insults to all his staff. He insults even management staff in the presence of their subordinates, the man is never satisfied with anyone. He doesn't even listen to the customers complaints .
He doesn't avail my brother time to go home. No off days whatsoever. The man can call my brothers phone more than ten times in a day, no time he doesn't yell. My brother is now sick of malaria, yet, won't be allowed to rest. He has not asked him about his health for once. How can someone be working for you, and you can't give me a day off or tell him his closing time. My brother also cleans and maintains the swimming pool. The hotel has never had a manager.
Most painful is, my brother has no place to sleep in that hotel. If he sees any free place at night, he will just sleep exposed to Cold and Mosquitoes.
It's sad because if our parents were to be alive, this wouldn't be happening. My brother has emaciated so badly. Everyday he spends nothing less than 3k on feeding cos they don't feed him at the hotel
Is a modern day slavery
Getting an appointment letter verbally is unacceptable.
He is free to quit before it is late.
However, let him collect June salary ( the month is almost gone) before leaving.
He should seek the face of God for better job opportunities

JohnMo2:
Kano 2027: Gov. Abba Will Win Second Term with Landslide

By Abdulmalik Suleiman

If elections in Kano were held today, the result would not be in doubt, Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf has earned a second term, and he will win it with a landslide. The reason is simple, results speak louder than rhetoric, and the people of Kano are seeing those results in their daily lives.

Infrastructure You Can Touch

In less than 3 years, the Abba Yusuf administration has transformed Kano’s landscape. Roads that were death traps for decades are now smooth, motorable highways linking rural farms to urban markets. Drainage projects have ended the annual flooding that displaced families. Hospitals have been rehabilitated, primary healthcare centers equipped, and schools rebuilt with modern classrooms.

This is laudable infrastructure not on paper, but on the ground. When a mother in Dawakin Tofa can get to Murtala Aminu Hospital in 20 minutes instead of 2 hours, she remembers who fixed the road. When a farmer in Gaya can move produce without his truck getting stuck in mud, he knows who delivered. Infrastructure wins votes because it changes lives.

Governance Without Shadows

Beyond bricks and mortar, what sets Gov. Yusuf apart is transparency. In a political culture where public funds often disappear into security votes and opaque contracts, Kano under Abba Yusuf has chosen a different path. Budget performance is published. Contract awards are open. Pension arrears that embarrassed previous governments have been cleared, and civil servants are paid on time.

That transparency builds trust. And trust is the most valuable currency in politics. The people of Kano have watched this government manage their resources with accountability. They have seen that “Kano money” is working for Kano people.

The Contest is Over Before It Begins

As the 2027 race approaches, names are being mentioned. But the truth is clear, the governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, is not in any way a match for the candidate of Gov. Yusuf, who has earned the trust of the people.

Trust cannot be manufactured during campaign season. It is built over years of service, sacrifice, and delivery. Gov. Yusuf has that trust because he has shown up for Kano people when it mattered most. His opponents have only promises. He has projects.

Why the Landslide is Coming

Landslides don’t happen by accident. They happen when an incumbent gives voters three (3) things, dignity, development, and direction. Governor Yusuf has delivered all three.

Dignity

Retirees who waited 10 years for gratuity are now being paid. That restores faith in government.

Development

From urban renewal in Kano metropolis to rural access roads, every senatorial zone feels the impact.

Direction

The administration’s policies are consistent and people focused. No flip-flopping. No confusion.

The opposition will campaign with promises. Gov. Yusuf will campaign with projects. And in Kano, the people have already made up their minds. They reward performance, not propaganda.

The Verdict

Politics is about perception, but perception is shaped by reality. The reality in Kano today is a government that works, a governor who listens, and a state moving forward. Gov. Yusuf’s support cuts across party lines. There is already a growing consensus on the governor’s return, with traders, intellectuals, politicians, students, women, and various groups across the state calling for continuity to ensure stability and progress for Kano State.

That is why Gov. Yusuf will not just win a second term. He will win with a landslide victory that sends a message across Nigeria: when you serve the people sincerely, the people will serve you at the ballot.

Kano has chosen the path of progress. On election day, they will confirm it.

BusinessRe: The World’s Top Billionaire Cities In 2026 - China Leads! by temi2008: 3:03pm On Jun 26
franchasofficia:
The world’s billionaire population is increasingly concentrated in a small group of global wealth hubs.

Using data from the Hurun Global Rich List 2026, this graphic ranks the cities with the most billionaires worldwide as of January 15, 2026.

While New York remains the world’s billionaire capital, Chinese cities dominate much of the leaderboard. More broadly, Asia accounts for the majority of billionaires across the cities shown, underscoring the region’s expanding influence on global wealth creation.

New York Remains the Global Billionaire Capital

New York remains the world’s billionaire capital with 146 billionaires, but the gap is narrowing. Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing now rank second, third, and fourth globally, giving China three cities within striking distance of New York’s total.

The Big Apple’s dominance is supported by Wall Street, a deep pool of financial services firms, and a thriving ecosystem of private equity, real estate, and technology companies.

City Country Number of Billionaires
1 New York 🇺🇸 United States 146
2 Shenzhen 🇨🇳 China 132
3 Shanghai 🇨🇳 China 120
4 Beijing 🇨🇳 China 107
5 London 🇬🇧 United Kingdom 102
6 Mumbai 🇮🇳 India 95
7 Hong Kong 🇭🇰 China (SAR) 88
8 San Francisco 🇺🇸 United States 86
9 Moscow 🇷🇺 Russia 82
10 Hangzhou 🇨🇳 China 65
11 New Delhi 🇮🇳 India 64
12 Singapore 🇸🇬 Singapore 59

Chinese Cities Dominate the Rankings
Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing rank second, third, and fourth globally, with 132, 120, and 107 billionaires, respectively.

China’s presence extends well beyond its largest cities.

Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Suzhou, and Ningbo also appear among the world’s leading billionaire hubs.

Altogether, eight Chinese cities appear in the ranking, accounting for 34% of all billionaires represented.

Asia Emerges as the Center of Billionaire Growth

Asia accounts for 58% of billionaires across the cities shown, making it the dominant region in the ranking.

In addition to China’s strong showing, cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Singapore, Taipei, Bangkok, Seoul, Jakarta, and Tokyo all rank among the world’s top billionaire centers.

India’s presence is particularly notable, with Mumbai and New Delhi both placing in the global top 11.

Traditional Wealth Centers Still Matter

Despite Asia’s rise, several long-established wealth centers remain highly influential.

London ranks fifth globally with 102 billionaires, while Moscow, Paris, Milan, Stockholm, and Istanbul all feature prominently.

In North America, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Toronto, and Palm Beach continue to attract significant concentrations of wealth.

Meanwhile, Dubai’s inclusion reflects the Middle East’s growing role as a destination for entrepreneurs, investors, and high-net-worth individuals.

Now my personal question is; where is Africa? Where is Nigeria? What is our government doing wrongly with their policies because government policies matters a lot in how citizens of a nation succeeds in wealth creation and sustenance. Imagine every successive Nigerian government tends to become worst than the previous one in reducing Nigerian people's wealth and purchasing power? How can we change this sad situation and reposition Nigeria to compete among other prosperous nations? Lagos state alone ought to have at least 20 dollar billionaires in 2026. Nigerian government need to really sit up angry

What do you guys think?

PoliticsRe: It's Now Getting Obvious Why Dickson Formed NDC by temi2008: 6:18pm On Jun 08
DomPerignon:
Dickson is using NDC solely to seek re-election back to the Senate just as Kwankwasso is doing same to prop his own people in position over Kano.

The aim is not and will never be the 2027 Presidential race .

The real agenda is to prepare the path for a 2031 Presidential bid for Kwankwaso/Dickson ticket.

Obi was sold a dummy . He is just a placeholder to the runup for the real contest in 2031 when the Presidency is zoned back to the north .

To highlight this theory, you just have to see the riot act Dickson issued to Obidients today which plainly stated that the NDC isn't a place for hero cult worshippers and that the party will be fully in charge of campaign funds raising and disbursement.

There's also the fact that Dickson has shut the door on Obidients wishing to contest under the NDC and has instead given tickets to former PDP members and loyalists who decamped with him to the NDC.

Up north, the structure is solidly under Kwankwaso who has monopolised all positions to his dwindling Kwankwassai supporters.

NDC has effectively shut the door on Obidients faces and there won't be a repeat of the obidient Top-to-bottom fluke they pulled in 2023 under the LP.

Dickson and Kwankwasso are playing a long game at the expense of obidients and their desperate fake Messiah , Obi.

This is 5-D chess by Dickson and Kwankwasso.
