Car Talk / Re: Why Is This Camry So Expensive Now by Temidayo9(m): 9:37am On Sep 20
Munzy14:

I don't agree.
Provided the car engine is in order, and your catalyst is intact,It has fuel Econony like corolla.

I am talking from experience..For a car I first drove, sold and bought another of it.

Equally rugged and reliable as well.

And e dey run..That car speeding is like a Turbo charged something..Reason why it's Engine is used in speed boat construction in the south south.
You don't need to agree with my post, but the fact is that Camry has never an economy car, they come with bigger engine and higher horse power compared with Corolla with engine rating from 1.6 -2.0 liter engine.

I believe Asiwaju did the best thing for Nigeria by removing the parallel exchange rate operated by the CBN and also the fuel subsidy.
Only President Jonathan attempted to remove the Fuel subsidy and some members of the opposition party used it as one of their campaign manifesto to remove him.
Whether we agree or disagree, the removal of fuel subsidy and unifying the exchange rate is enough to remove any government as seen by the hardship in Nigeria but I really really respect Asiwaju for refusing to back down and reintroduce those subsides.
There's hardship in Nigeria and no one should try to cover it up,my advice to Asiwaju is for him to find quick emergency fixes for the country.
I can testify the power situation is really improving, although I don't know if if the same in other parts of the country, this has helped cover up the fuel scarcity that has been lingering for almost a month.
Asiwaju must ensure whatever the Ministry of Power is doing is improved on.
Asiwaju must also order NNPCL to sell subsidize crude oil to Dangote for the next 6 months so he can deliver refined petrol, diesel, kerosene and Aviation fuel.
This will really help to reduce the pump price of these products and help Asiwaju look for more sustainable results in the months ahead.
Finally he must sack the parasitic element in NNPCL,those guys will never allow Nigeria function as far as they are importing refined fuel into Nigeria.
God bless Nigeria

With all these being said, you still believe in Asiwaju? You are a devil in making

If you save ₦20 everyday, it will be

₦20 × 7 = ₦140 per week

₦140 × 30 = ₦4,200 per month.

₦4,200 × 365= ₦1,533,000 per year.

I care about you. Be wise and start saving now, 20 naira means a lot. Don’t sleep on it.
How many months do you have in a year?

wirinet:

Gbam.
When the government increased tarrif on rice, wheat and vehicles to 70%, we did not experience deflation or even an decrease in inflation.

When the government increased VAT from 5% yo 7.5%, we did not experience deflation.

When the government floated the Naira from N400 to N700 and now to N1400, we did not experience deflation.

When the FG and state budget and expenditure keep increasing year on year without corresponding increase in wages, we did not experience deflation.

It is only when minimum living wage, which cannot even sustain a students running expenses for one month is discussed that we realize it would lead to inflation.
You have said it all, some people are naturally wicked, it's just a pity

[quote author=Robertgreene1 post=130285549]Interesting....l subbed my Gotv for $5100 last Monday.... something that was #4200 last month...the girl shocked me further when she told me that a Gotv decorder goes for 50k now... something l bought for 4500 way back in 2015 when l was still in the uni...
Worse part is that the only channel l watch on Gotv these days is only Aljazeera news and sometimes football on Super Sports select finish...when I'm not busy working oo....all other channels are wack!!!
I asked the girl about startimes decorder...she told me it goes for only #13500 and with a sub of less than 4k l can enjoy better channels...
Please anyone that uses Startimes here...does it show Aljazeera news?
This Gotv don tire me...l wan port to Startimes![/quote
Startimes decoder price is way more than DSTV decoder 29.5k as at today 2nd of June. Economy effect of COVID 19 just reach this part of the world, Its just a pity.

Toh

My own curiosity is, if some states are still paying the N18k minimum wage claiming they can't afford N30k.

How then do you expect such states to pay anything above N100k?

We are even yet to talk about the private sectors. Would they be able to afford above N100k minimum wage? Even if the minimum wage is pegged around N80k, there would still be lay off.

How about the inflation the ridiculous amount N464k abi na how much NLC would cause?

https://www.nairaland.com/8113134/n70-n80k-realistic-minimum-wage
Hnmm. But it was easy to increase fuel from 220/Lt to 700/Lt. It was very easy to increase university tuition from 25k to 300k.
It's very easy, tell Tinubu to return everything back to the old pricee and we forget about new wage increase

Most of these foreign countries don't have regards for us. They believe they can do anything to Nigerians and get away with it.

We can retaliate too as deterant to other countries who wants to mess with us, but as usual nothing will be done to them. We are elephants who don't know how large we are.
Must Nigerian Lord over everything? They may have cogent reasons for diversion, after all it could happens everywhere

He Said ,Kama Ton Arawaje ,Ilu Osunwon Rara ooo.

Meaning ,Without Deceiving ourselves the Things in the Country is not Okay at all.

He is a Yoruba Man ,I am too .

I do not Belongs to the Class of People that Believes even if The President Policies is not Working Good Results then I must Keep Talking like a Zombie ,

Let's face the Reality .

Things are Getting More Worse .

If you say ,You are Okay ,Several Millions are Sufferings ..Go to the Streets and see .

Now Objectively ..

Concerning the Dollars ,Finance ,P2P , Crypto Etc have been Blammed ,Yet Dollars Keep Rising .

WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU THINK THE GOVERNMENT ,CBN GOVERNOR SHOULD DO PRACTICALLY TO STRENGTHEN THE NAIRA ?

Logically, the Nigerian president purposely devalued Naira due to reasons best known to them, so issue of strengthening the naira is not in the list of this government

You are empty. You are the one arguing, by now I expect to see any authority from a news paper or magazine stating cable television is outlawed to use pay as you use system...

Otherwise I will take it you are an empty basket, just going round nairaland, arguing baselessly.
Full man, the tech behind pay TV can not allow you pay as you go just like GSM, as your subscription only give you access by given you equivalent in number of hours, either you on your decoder or not, the hour will be counting.
