A commercial bus driver, identified as Emeka Ugwudiobi has been accused of raping one of his passengers from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. at gun point in an uncompleted building around Mayor Market, Enugu. According to the prosecution counsel, Mr Francis Ajagu, the driver plies the New Market-Gariki route and the victim was one of his passengers. On that fateful day, the driver noticed only the victim was remaining in the bus and drove to an uncompleted building beside the Mayor Market and started raping the victim. Ajagu said the victim was raped from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. without break and that the pleas of the victim to allow her rest fell on deaf ears. The victim was rescued by one Mr Chidubem Ezeorah, a passerby who ran into the scene and reported the case to the police. He said that the victim could hardly stand on her feet when the police came to her rescue in the uncompleted building. However, Mr Obeta Peter, the counsel to the accused, who described the accused as a responsible man with a wife and four children said Emeka had been driving for the past 16 years and that nobody had ever complained that he was a rapist. He denied that his client had ever set eyes on the victim before, adding that there was no way a bus driver would carry a gun inside his bus and the police would not notice. Justice Dorathy Agishi ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody while adjourning the case to Feb. 26, 2014 for further hearing. |
The United Nations stated on December 16, 2013, Monday that attacks by Boko Haram extremist sect have claimed lives of at least 1,200 people since May, when a state of emergency was declared in the restive northeast region. The UN toll is the first independent fatality figure to have emerged since the military operation was launched. " Some 1,224 people have been killed in Boko Haram related attacks since May," the UN humanitarian agency (OCHA) said in a statement. The toll includes civilians, military personnel as well insurgents killed by security forces repelling attacks. At the same time, the UN figures did not include insurgents killed during targeted military operations. Defence officials have in recent months released a series of statements claiming scores of rebel deaths in operations on Boko Haram strongholds. The details of those statements have been difficult to verify amid a communication blackout in much of the northeast and the military has been widely accused of downplaying fatalities among civilians and its own personnel. "The humanitarian situation in northeast Nigeria has been increasingly worrisome over the course of 2013," the report said. The number of separate "Boko Haram related" attacks in the region since emergency rule was declared has reached 48 . It would be recalled that Nigeria placed the states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe under emergency rule on May 14, following waves of deadly violence by the Islamist rebels. President Goodluck Jonathan sent thousands of troops backed by air support to the northeast to crush the four-year-old uprising. The military had switched off the mobile network across the region, apparently to block Islamists from coordinating attacks. Officially, mobile service has been restored in all three states, but communication remains difficult in Borno, the epicentre of the insurgency and where Boko Haram was founded more than a decade ago. The sect was designated as a terrorist organisation by the United States in November, has said it is fighting to create and Islamic state in Nigeria's mainly Muslim north. Washington also put a $7 million (5.1 million Euros) bounty on the group's purported leader, Abubakar Shekau, who has ruled out any form of negotiations with the government. He then screamed for help but that caused panic and fear among other people using the public lavatories. Mr Nkrumah was taken to hospital after he started shivering and feeling dizzy but has since been discharged. Mr Nkrumah said he initially thought the pain was normal until he saw the black snake lying just beneath him. |
A "self-proclaimed" pastor has been charged with the rape of two girls. 61-year-old Jacoby Kindred from Minnesota, is accused of sexually abusing the daughters of his son's girlfriend beginning when they were only six years old. According to a criminal complaint, Kindred, a pastor with One Accord Ministries, told one victim that "the devil was inside her and he could take the demons out of her." It was reported that the alleged abuse "involved handling, oral stimulation, and rape," and took place mostly at Kindred's Maplewood, Minn., home, while the victims, now 14 and 16, stayed over. Kindred is said to have abused the girls for more than a decade. Police began their investigation in July after the girls' mother said she found out about a letter written by one of her daughters that described sexual acts with Kindred. When interviewed, Kindred denied the allegations and said that the girls' mother had made them tell "lies" because she was angry with him. "Anyone can make up anything when you sit there long enough and you rehearse it," Kindre said. "All a woman has to do [in Minnesota] is make an accusation, true or false, and the man's going to be in trouble." When media representatives attempted to reach him, Kindred said that he was out of town for a funeral, and would not disclose his location. Police have issued a warrant for his arrest. |

We put these sex questions out there so you wouldn't have to. 1. Could I have accidentally peed the bed during sex? If the condom is intact and you've ruled out the possibility that the wet spot came from him, take a discreet sniff. Does the wet spot smell like urine? If so, there's your answer. There's often a tiny bit of fluid left in the bladder even after women use the bathroom. Certain sexual positions -- such as the missionary -- can put enough pressure on that area to cause it to leak. If this happens only once in a while, then there's no need to worry. If the fluid has no odor or a musky scent and you're about to have your period, you may have ejaculated. But if you're regularly leaking urine, it could be a sign of incontinence. 2. Why do I sometimes laugh or cry uncontrollably during sex? Sex is a neurological and emotional event. In other words, it's intense, and getting naked (physically and otherwise) with someone can trigger unexpected feelings. An emotional reaction could also be due to hormones, where you're at in your menstrual cycle or fears you have about the relationship. You know yourself best: If you feel something's not right, consider bringing it up with your partner or with a therapist. 3. I'm nowhere near menopause, but I'm as dry as the Sahara down there -- even when I'm in the mood. How can this be? There are lots of factors involved in keeping the vagina naturally lubricated, but anything that sabotages your hormone levels or your blood flow throughout the body can dry you out. About 5 percent of women taking oral contraception experience vaginal dryness -- yet even some gynecologists neglect to make that connection. Other culprits that have nothing to do with age include antihistamines, breastfeeding, chemotherapy, in vitro fertilization and diabetes. 4. Should I be worried if I bleed after sex? If the blood is a light color, and this happens only once (especially after a strenuous romp), then it's probably just the result of irritation or friction. But if it happens again or if there's a fair amount of blood, then you should make an appointment with your gynecologist. It could be coming from the cervix, the uterus or be caused by an infection like chlamydia or gonorrhea. 5. About that, um, aquatic odor... The normal pH in the vagina is between 3.5 and 4.5, and that creates the best conditions for good bacteria to proliferate. If the pH goes up too high, those good bacteria can't survive, which allows the not-good bacteria to take over, leading to that unfortunate fishy odor as well as infections like bacterial vaginosis. Normal semen happens to have a high pH, around 7.4. So if your pH levels are already teetering on the brink or if you're having a lot of sex, the introduction of high pH semen can put you over the edge. Your period can also increase your pH level. According to the reports, a panel of judges at the Supreme Court of Nigeria today quashed the conviction handed Bode George a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, who was earlier charged with corruption by Lagos court and imprisoned. George was discharged and acquitted as the court stated that prosecutors at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had no evidence of Mr. George's intention to commit fraud at the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) where as chairman of the NPA board he was caught presiding over a contract bazaar the bled the nation of Nigeria. According to the judges, headed by a controversial judge, John Afolabi Fabiyi JSC, the charge of "contract splitting" upon which Mr. George was convicted is unknown to law. The case of today's quashing of George's conviction resembled that of a Lagos Court of Appeal ruling which similarly quashed a death sentence conviction of Major Hamza Al Mustapha's for the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola in 1996. In Lagos, a panel of Court of Appeal cleared former Chief Security Officer of late maximum dictator, Sanni Abacha Mustapha of murder charges under controversial circumstances. After having been cleared Mustapha thanked President Jonathan for arranging his judicial pardon. Interestingly, the case of Al Mustapha was lead by the same lawyer, former president of the Nigeria Bar Association, Joseph B Daudu was Al Mustapha's lawyer in the Lagos case. Mr. Daudu contributed a lot to securing Mr. George's freedom today. SOURCE:http://m.naij.com/news/54223.html |
Wearing socks during sex? Stealing the covers post-coitus? Not-so-sexy dirty talk? These are just a few of the between-the-sheets deal breakers that lead women to cheat on their partners, according to a new survey. Infidelity dating website Victoria Milan asked over 4,000 of their female members why they cheated, and sixty-eight percent said they were unsatisfied with their sex lives at home. What are the biggest mistakes the women said men are making in bed? 1. Not being a gentleman. Stealing the covers, keeping socks on while making love or checking smartphones after sex were all listed as huge turn offs, and according to the survey, make women feel like their guy is no longer making an effort. 2. Being narcissistic. The women surveyed said men who are only focused on themselves “leave them cold,” according to the press release. 3. Talking dirty — when it’s unwelcome. Women who don’t like dirty talk said it makes them feel like their man is more focused on a porn movie fantasy than the present. 4. Not being creative or spontaneous. Failing to try new things in bed was also a big no-no. The women surveyed said the same old position in the same old place is a passion killer. 5. Skipping pre-intimacy. According to Victoria Milan, this was the biggest mistake men make in bed: “It’s a scientific fact that women take longer to be ready for sex–and orgasm. Deal with it!” huffingtonpost.com |
Former President of the United States, George Bush, on Thursday told the leadership of the country and its people to fight corruption, saying it had become the obvious challenge against its development. Bush, who is in Lagos as a guest speaker at the Access Leadership Conference 2013, said corrupt people, no matter how highly paced, should face the wrath of the law. The event, which was organised by Access Bank Plc with the theme, 'Embracing Sustainable Leadership, attracted world leaders, including a former President of Ghana, Mr. John Kufuor. Bush, who commended the country for its current democratic dispensation and sustenance, said the US encouraged governments that fight corruption by giving them aids to support their economies. He noted that the criteria for receiving aids had been tied to countries that ensured that anti-corruption strategies were in place. |
