Since 2012 (that's one decade ago) it was clear that Ronaldo was no match for Messi

For several years Ronaldo stans kept going on and on and on, even with their already bloodied nose.

They were down for ever but refused to stay down,

This World Cup win was just the knock out punch.

I doubt any football fan would dare to mention anything Ronaldo versus Messi ever again.

The only event that could even bring up any discussion at all again is Ronaldo winning the 2026 World Cup.
