I agree, everything has its own challenges, some request money before they can take u as an intern. But it still pays than waisting your whole life to acquire all the skool certificates n still remain jobless in your guardians house. My guy, nothing good comes so easy, everything requires one or 2 sacrifices.

Nigerias system is a failed system, we put far too much emphasis on white collar jobs and focus less on craftsmanship. Only few percentage of white people have a university degree yet their system is designed in such a way that everything is balanced and everybody is needed, unlike here where everybody want to have a PhD and nobody want to go into "hand work" and this has created a kind of saturation in the white collar job market. Am not saying having a PhD is bad but we put far too much emphasis on paper certificate and look far down on people going into craftsmanship. I know of a young mechanic who has built 2 good houses all in a short interval. I know of a bricklayer that recently got 15million Naira worth of contract for plastering some houses. painting, screeding n pop are also very demanding jobs and people doing it are also not doing bad at all. The moment we think of dumping our certificates and getting cooperate with these "hand work" hustles the better for our youths.

thank God u mentioned original rings in your comment. Most times out kazeems will charge u for an original rings and then shortchange u by buying a cheap one which will hardly last upto 6months. Oyibos use very good original expensive rings make the guy just top up n buy a new engine n have peace of mind.

Don't waste your time n money in changing piston rings n valve seals cos it won't last more than a year at most. Just replace the engine with another one.

Be drinking plenty of water, always stay hydrated.

Mine was rather sad ending.

Registered on upwork, sort and bit for jobs for over 2 weeks without success, then on this fateful Wednesday morning luck smiled on me. There was this start up printing company in the US, they were sorting for remote graphics designer. I bit for job and got a reply, was excited like hell.
I spoke with the man, he was impressed with my portfolio and willingness to join them.

He let me know my duty was to do simple mug designs at $10 per design, then he asked how many designs I pull up in a day.
Given the simplicity of the design, I know I can deliver at least 15 designs daily, I could do more but I know the power situation of Nigeria.

We settled 15 designs daily, now was time for final task... He wants me to do 2 samples and send it to him just to be sure I understands what he needs.

I did and sent, it was 11pm, I plugged in my phone and pc and pray to wake up and meet good replies..... Woke up the next morning and I boom! My phone and PC was stolen... I can't access my upwork account from any other device without my Sim.

MTN office frustrated my life for 3 days before I could get a welcome back Sim, thanks to Lagos population.

When I finally login, I realized my samples were approved and I was to resume the next day, jobs was already sent to me to handle... Unfortunately I was offline for 4 days... That was how lost the job.

I explained everything to man, but I was too late.... Someone else got the job.


Caught the idiot that stole my stuffs 2 weeks later, that's another story for another day.
