Kenyan pastor has been fired from his job after been caught red-handed with a married woman in a hotel room. The pastor of a church in the city of Embu, who was caught with the married woman on Sunday, addressed his congregation and asked for forgiveness.

Pastor Anthony Maina of the Kenya Assemblies of God Eastern Gate Church, arrived with his wife Beth, and two children, and said that he did not commit adultery with the woman when they were caught in the hotel room in the city of Karatina, Nyeri County.

“I’m here to tell everyone that I made a mistake, and I have sought God’s forgiveness. The incident saved me because I would have committed more sins,” he said.

The church announced that it had suspended the pastor indefinitely.

“The pastor has committed a crime that goes against the teachings of God, and therefore, he can no longer serve in the church,” a spokesperson for the church said.

Beth said that she had forgiven her husband, saying that they have to come together and move forward as a family.

One hundred people are reported to have died since Tuesday in exuberant celebrations to mark the victory of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari in last weekend’s presidential elections as his supporters took to the streets across the country Nigerian Watch reports.

On Tuesday March 31, Gen. Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was named the winner of Nigeria’s presidential elections. As soon as he was declared the winner, the general’s supporters took to the streets across the country with all sorts of bizarre stunts, some of which were fatal.

Some of the worst affected states included Adamawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Sokoto, Kano and Edo, while in Rivers State, jubilant youths were seen along Omerelu/Elele/Port Harcourt Road, displaying different kinds of guns and other dangerous weapons, shooting into the air and chanting heroic songs. Eye witnesses say many of the victims were either hit by a moving vehicles making stunt displays or lost their footing while watching the activities.

According to eyewitness reports, 17 victims died in Kano, 4 died in Abuja, 3 in Kontagora, Niger State and 1 in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, while several others sustained injuries. Eyewitness, Ali Sufi of Naibawa Quarters said 3 people were crushed to death at Naibawa U-turn, when a man in a Toyota Camry car lost control and rammed into those celebrating.

Sufi added that one Sabo Ali, an ad-hoc staff of communications giant, Etisalat, lost his life alongside his friend when a reckless driver knocked them down at Ungwa Uku end of Zaria Road within Kano metropolis. Another resident of Naibawa quarters, Ibrahim Dogo, said that two teenagers were crushed to death along Zaria Road by a crazy driver.

Kano State Police Command spokesman Magaji Majia, said: “We discovered seven dead bodies of unknown persons on the streets after the celebration and investigations has commenced on how and why it happened.” He added that the development had forced the command to sponsor radio jingles to sensitize the city dwellers on how to go about the victory dance.

Gen. Buhari has urged his supporters across the country to remain calm and celebrate responsibly. In General Buhari’s home town of Daura in Katsina State, motorbike riders and car drivers pulled stunts, sending plumes of dust into the air, enveloping the local ruler’s palace overlooking the square.

Lawan Shuaibu, a 29-year-old bus driver, said, “Our joy is indescribable as a result of this historic victory of Muhammadu Buhari, which is why we are on the streets for the second day of celebration.”

In contrast, the mood was depressing in President Jonathan’s hometown of Otuoke in Bayelsa State as people were pensive as they reflected on his defeat. Businesses reported sluggish trade as groups of people in twos or threes discussed the gripping election, which General Buhari won by 2.75m votes, becoming the first challenger to beat a sitting president win in Nigeria’s history.

Gen. Muhammadu Buhari was declared the winner of Nigeria’s presidential elections, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) defeating the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan by 2.57 million votes.

Since the announcement by INEC there have been reported cases of people dyeing while celebrating Buhari’s victory across the country.

Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), walking several kilometers in his hometown in Daura, Katsina, is his choice of exercise.

After casting his vote in the presence of a throng of passionate supporters in his hometown and getting a situation reports all around the country, the leading contender in the keenly contested presidential elections took time off his marathon itinerary to enjoy the Katsina sunset flanked by his aides.

The 72-year-old appeared to be in high spirits as he chatted with people around him and walked sprightly into the night.

The senior special assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on school agriculture, Dr. Baraka Sani, escaped death by a stroke of luck yesterday.The Punch reports that Dr. Baraka Sani, on Saturday in Kano escaped death at the hands of suspected political thugs, who prevented her from voting. The incident which happened at Jigriya Ward in Dakatar Quarters, Nasarawa area of Kano state, saw political thugs throwing missiles at Baraka, and obstructing her when she attempted to cast her vote.

An eyewitness said that the thugs on sighting Baraka started chanting: “Ba muayi, ba zaki ye zabe ba,” meaning, “We are not with you and will not allow you to vote.”

In the incident, which went on for over 10 minutes, two of Baraka’s aides were injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The thugs were also said to have thrown pebbles at the president’s aide until a good Samaritan came to her rescue, as she was shielded and escorted from the scene of the incident to a waiting black Honda Pilot Jeep, which zoomed off immediately.

Sani, however, rushed back home and mobilized a combined team of security operatives, comprising the army, air force, the Directorate of State Security and the police, who accompanied her to the polling unit where she eventually cast her vote amid tight security. While narrating her ordeal, Sani asked, “Is that the kind of change Nigerians are yearning for, where Nigerians would be denied their constitutional right? Is this the kind of change that women will be summoned before the ICC?

“Is this the kind of change that the opposition is denigrating women that they will never again participate in the political process, limiting their freedom of expression, freedom and constitutional right?”

Former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was embarrassed by a thug, Ise Aye, while Tinubu was doing his accreditation at polling unit 047 on Kaffi/Sunday Adigun Street, Alausa, Ikeja.

The thug, who had scars on his face and tattoos all over his body, shouted at the governor and accused him of neglecting some of the youths in the area.

While shouting in Yoruba, he said, “You abandoned us here. The leaders here did not give us money. I know what I have suffered in the hands of the PDP all because I refused to join them. We remained loyal to the APC because of your late mother (Iya Mogaji) that lived here.Anytime I come here looking for money, they refer me to Bourdillon in Ikoyi but no one allows me to enter your mansion.”

Tinubu, who felt insulted by the outburst, described Ise Aye as an untrained young man lacking in wisdom.

He said, “Do you have any sense at all? Is that how you were trained to talk to elders. Get out of here, you are embarrassing me.”The young man eventually prostrated for Tinubu.

When asked by a reporter why he supported Jonathan instead of Nuhu Ribadu of his party(the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria) in the 2011 elections, Tinubu said, “You must retract that statement. If not, I will assume that you are working for the PDP.

“I never supported Jonathan in 2011. I can never destroy what I used my hands to build.”

During Thursday rally in Warri, Niger Delta People Salvation Front, NDPSF, volunteers, led by Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, have threatened that disaster would happen in Nigeria should former Head of State, Gen Muhammadu Buhari, attempt to cause chaos after losing the election.

According to Vanguard, the group made the statement on Thursday during a rally held in the streets of Warri, Delta State.

It was reported that the rally which was attended by thousands of youths caused unprecedented traffic in a show of strong solidarity and support for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s re election.

Speaking at the rally, Alhaji Dokubo- Asari stated that it shall be gun for gun, bullet for bullet, bomb for bomb should Buhari attempt to cause chaos after losing the election.

He warned that Buhari must never be allowed to get close to power as he is a disaster waiting to happen, adding, “He is a spent force with a stale mind incapable of leading a multi complex Nigerian State.”

Asari-Dokubo added that the former Head of State was corrupt and immoral, while his wife had the guts to insult the women of the Niger Delta, especially the good women of Edo State by calling them prostitutes.

He insisted that Buhari remained a tyrant and unrepentant dictator who ought to be striped of his military honours as he rose the rank and file by unfair, immoral and corrupt means, having not been qualified.

Asari-Dokubo urged “all persons of who believe that never again should those who see us all as a conquered people; those who believe that we exist at their pleasure; those who believe our sovereignty must be continually confiscated; and that you and I are mere appendages in the Nigeria union lead us again to kick out Buhari, who is a chief promoter of born to rule and Boko Haram terrorism.”

“Muhammadu Buhari ought to be in jail and not allowed the luxury of contesting an election with sane people. He is the face of deceit,” he said.

He called on all good people of the Nigerian Union to vote for Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who though not perfect, remains the most credible option for moving Nigeria forward and restructuring Nigeria.

Asari-Dokubo later endorsed Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru as his preferred gubernatorial candidate in Delta state.

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria has ordered the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to pay the All progressive Congress Party (APC) 500 million naira as damages for unlawfully banning the party’s presidential campaign fundraising platform.

Justice Ibrahim Buba in his verdict while delivering judgment in the suit filed by the party against NCC and five others Etisalat, MTN Nigeria Limited, Globacom Limited, Airtel Nigeria Limited and Visafone Communications Limited declared that APC was protected by the constitution to push for the enforcement of its fundamental right once violated, thereafter threw out NCC’s counter-affidavit and ruled that the action of respondents were illegal and unconstitutional.

The damages were going to be pay jointly and severally by all the respondents the Judge asserted.

The political party had sued the commission, demanding N25 billion as damages, for allegedly banning its presidential campaign fund-raising platform.

APC accused the NCC of instructing the 2nd to 6th respondents to discontinue any SMS platform it created for the purpose of getting donations from willing members of the public for its presidential campaign party claimed to have initiated the participatory fund-raising platform as a way of getting members of the general public to contribute N100 to its presidential campaign fund each time they sent APC as an SMS to 35350.

But it claimed that NCC, by a letter dated January 19, 2015, instructed the other respondents to shut down the platform, warning them “to avoid running political advertisement/promotions that will portray them as being partisan.”

The commission had also threatened to sanction any of the telecommunications service providers which failed to comply with the order.

But APC considered the NCC’s instruction and the consequent shutting down of its fund-raising platform as both discriminatory and an infringement on its fundamental right protected by Section 39 of the Constitution and Articles 9 (1) (2) and 19 of the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act, Cap. A9, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

It argued that the NCC did not give the same instruction to the other respondents when the Peoples Democratic Party set up the short codes designated: 6661, 662, 6663 and 6664, being managed by one Wagitel Communications Limited to raise funds for the campaign of President Goodluck Jonathan and his vice President, Namadi Sambo, in 2010.

The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, has revealed to Nigerians why President Goodluck Jonathan should not be re-elected in 2015.

Fashola, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) while addressing members of the Yoruba Tennis Club and their Island Club counterparts at their respective Club Houses in Onikan, Lagos on December 24, Wednesday, scored the Jonathan-led administration very low and urged Nigerians to vote it out in the next general elections.

The governor, who insisted that change of leadership is an imperative at the national level, pointed out that Nigeria is too important both globally and continentally to be left in the hands of those who“play politics with the lives of her citizens.”

Fashola said the national government, formed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has failed to deliver its most important responsibility, which is the security of life and property of citizens and protection of the country’s territorial integrity.

He further noted that Nigerians handed over a whole country to the ruling party in 2011, but lamented that the same party is now returning to Nigerians to ask for another leadership mandate with only part of the country, having lost some parts to the Boko Haram terrorists group ravaging the north-eastern part of the country.

“They are returning now to ask for our votes with only a part of the country that we gave them because some parts of the country have been lost to people we didn’t elect. So, in that most important responsibility, they have dropped the ball,” he said.

Fashola, who expressed disappointment that the PDP has politicised everything, stated that nothing is too much for the party to sloganize about. He alleged that the PDP-led Federal Government is playing politics with a sensitive issue of the more than 234 female students that were abducted by Boko Haram on April 14, from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.

The governor further took a swipe at the PDP-led for claiming that Nigeria is the biggest economy in Africa, and wondered why smaller economies could provide electricity for their people while the self acclaimed “biggest economy” could keep her people in darkness.

“Please ask them why smaller economies could get petrol easily for their people and why we have to queue for hours and days to get petrol in a biggest economy in Africa,” he said.

Fashola also questioned why the so-called biggest economy in Africa is trying to buy arms from a smaller economy to secure the country, and why the nation’s currency, the Naira, is now trading for N180+ per U.S. Dollar, while the South African Rand is trading at R11 to one USD.

The governor said what matters are the quality of the life and prosperity of the citizens and not the size or number being bandied by the PDP-led government, and tasked Nigerians to recall the last time the President went to present the Annual Budget in the National Assembly, an obligation, he said is a constitutional one.

Fashola also alleged that the Federal Government played politics with the Ebola Virus Disease containment as it almost turned the very grave situation into a political trophy.

He lauded the APC-led administration in Lagos state in the area of Education, Security, Power and the financial sector despite the very perilous economic and security situation in the nation.

It would be recalled that Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, the Chairman of the PDP in the South-West, said Governor Fashola had not done so well to merit the praise he received from residents of the state.

Meanwhile, President Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo will spend over N4b on food and travels in 2015, according to the details of the budget proposal submitted to the National Assembly by Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Season’s greetings to my teeming readers. Let me still serve you a morsel of politics even as we celebrate the joyous Yuletide season. The mood isn’t cheery because of the horror of senseless bloodletting by the Boko Haram insurgents, but life must go on, in the hope that things will get better in the New Year; even if they seem otherwise at the moment.Our politicians are self-serving and uncaring, but we are a resilient people who always ride out of every storm.

The noisy campaigns of the Presidential nominations of the two major parties- the ruling PDP and the APC, appear to have eclipsed the nation’s top headliners of 2014, such as the Chibok girls abduction, and the random seizure of territories by the rampaging Boko Haram terrorists. Also submerged in the nomination hoopla are the impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako and the defection of the five PDP governors that triggered it; Ayo Fayose’s upstaging of APC’s Kayode Fayemi in the Ekiti Governorship elections, the dramatic fall of crude oil price and its implications for our oil-dependent economy, and the recruitment exercise that left scores of young graduate job-seekers dead from stampedes.

All of these and other major headline news of 2014 may soon be a distant memory, but we can’t easily forget the failure of the national soccer team and defending champions, the Super Eagles, to qualify for the African Cup of Nations, the Air Force plane that was shot down by the Boko Haram insurgents and one of the pilots reportedly beheaded. Indeed, with its gruesome operations getting to new levels of cruelty, Boko Haram stretched our military to the limit, and exposed the decay and dismal state of our armed services. That was what came to light in 2014, but must never be allowed to continue in 2015.

The Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, came and was defeated, but not until after claiming the lives of some victims including Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh and other patriots; rather than plan how to prevent future resurgence, the APC and the ruling PDP were bickering over whom to credit with the arrest of the disease. Of course, 2014 produced its fair share of scandals and corruption in high places too numerous to mention.

Sad to recall, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor’s private jet which was involved in the cash for arms scandal, was a major headline news about which I wrote a commentary, which provoked CAN’s response in pedestrian vulgarity, which I declined to nobilitate with a retort. The pain for Nigerians is the impunity with which perpetrators loot the treasury under the watch of President Goodluck Jonathan.

President Jonathan and his strategists should be having a big laugh after a ‘hard-won’ battle that finally handed His Excellency an unprecedented sole candidacy of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 presidential elections, with a loud declaration at a rally on November 11, 2014. Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (Rtd) is flying the flag of the APC, having clinched the party’s ticket in closely fought primaries.

The implication of Dr. Jonathan’s declaration on that day (11-11-2014)has occultic significance. When the number is repeated, it takes a greater ritualistic intensity. In this case, we have 11-11-11, because when you add the date 11-11-2014 as a year together, you arrive at 11 also. This is in consonance with occultic numerology.

In the pre-natural world, the number 11 is a powerful occultic number: it represents judgment, destruction and death of man. Each digit in the 11-11-2014 date, when added together, viz: 1+1+1+1+2+0+1+4, you get 11. That’s why the declaration was done on 11/11/2014, which is the highest level of occultic numerology. This sacred number in the occultic world demonstrates an appeasement of the powers of darkness to favour the supplicant. The name of satan in Latin is LVX. L is 50, V is 5 and X is 10. When you add that together, you get 65. When you add 6 + 5, you get 11. Satan’s number is 11.

The question is; was this declaration orchestrated by occultic considerations, or is it a mere coincidence? Since 11 represents; judgment, destruction and death of man, can we extrapolate from the experiences of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration so far that number 11 has been prevalent in our nation? Has there been spiritual judgment, has there been destruction and death on a large scale? You, be the judge.

If the Church of Jesus Christ appreciates this understanding, they’ll be more reluctant to gravitate in the direction of President Jonathan, even though the leaderships of CAN and PFN have made a subtle endorsement of his candidacy. President Jonathan does not belong to the Davidic genealogy; he belongs to the house of Saul and invokes the spirit of Jeroboam. He swears by the Lord and Malcham. He that hath an ear let him hear.

Fixing all the fault lines of 2014 must begin with the management of the usual post-election crisis which is the hallmark of every transition in Nigeria. Whatever the outcome of the Presidential elections, the polity would likely quake as the vanquished beat the drums of war against the backdrop of grandstanding by the victors. If we have embraced a paradigm shift as I have suggested, Nigeria would have gone a different way.

Despite all of that, and the likely unpleasant fall-out of the forthcoming general elections, Nigeria will survive as usual. Expect threats of war, but surely, the Nigerian political class is too timid to roll out the tanks for battle, because, nobody would like to put his life on the line over a lost election.

Unfortunately, our gullible youths do not know this. They are usually the canon fodders who bear the brunt of the violence. The political elites use them to unleash on any post-election conflict, while the politicians and their cronies escape to safe havens where they enjoy their loot. Be that as it may, the voters have the final choice to make in these crucial elections.
