This is my second ODU, and I enjoyed using the first one so much that I decided to get another. 😄

Since they’re currently on promo (from ₦40,000 down to ₦25,000), I figured it made more sense to use my ₦25k to buy another ODU instead of paying for another subscription.

One thing I noticed, though, is that Airtel seems to have improved the ZLT network. On my first ODU, Band 7 always gave me the best performance. But on this new one, I couldn’t get more than 7 Mbps download speed at first.

Out of curiosity, I enabled all the available bands, and boom! 🚀 My download speed jumped to a minimum of 47 Mbps. That’s a massive improvement.

Has anyone else noticed this on the newer Airtel ODUs?

I've come to notice that one of the major culprit to my network challenges on the ODU is letting my sub expire completely before renewing.

For instance, I can get amazing network speeds for my current sub, but as soon as I let it expire and renew later, I'll start having challenges especially towards evening.

So what I have been experimenting on is to renew my sub a day b4 expiry, that way there's no downtime and surprisingly this has worked well for me. Combine this with the 3G only trick, I think you will have less connection problems.

Since mtn seems to be confused if they're launching the ODU or not, make we dey enjoy our Airtel small small.

I applied and paid for the meter directly at the state ministry (state govt subsidized). After paying, I was told to bring a billing to register the meter with.

I called the nepa guy in charge of the billing (the guy who brings nepa bill to my area), he said I should talk to the landlord for permission. I spoke to the landlord and gave permission. I called the nepa guy again and he requested 30k for new billing processing which I didn't settle with.

Few days after, the 2nd tenant and I called the landlord out cos of the indebted meter he installed for us. The landlord acted dumb as if he's not aware of the N2m debt. All hell was let loose. My light was disconnected that night.

The landlord later connived with the nepa guy not to do the billing for me so I won't have my meter processed without it. It was my inside man in the nepa office who made it known to me.

The idiotic landlord is bypasses his own meter while the one he connected tenants to can't be used. The nepa guy alerts him anytime they want to come for meter inspection.

I've been in total blackout since that day I called him out.
