Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have written their branches to commence strike from tomorrow (Friday).

That is also my stand. I won't blame Nigeria for the first lockdown we had esp with what we saw in Europe but we have now lived with this virus for a year already and seen there is no need of spoiling our economy and creating more poor people and unnecessary hardship and even more death with the hype of covid19 in the media. I see it as a subtle way by the PTF to control states indirectly and determine what happens. I have worked in covid-19 isolation centre and I must say Nigeria doesn't need the fear mongering, it could be serious in the elderly but overall we can observe normal safety tips and live our normal lives using facemasks and handwashing

Nothing new; this happens all the time everywhere in the world (I mean one partner rejecting divorce). Usually, each partner must agree to divorce before the request is considered valid. What I found bizarre is forcing anyone to live with a partner against thier will. It appears to me that the solution to our problem is restructuring. However, if this is not possible in the short term then southerners need to reorganize and better our politics.

Force the country into a two party system by spinning off a southern middle belt party (SMBP) or give it a less conspicuous name. This would represent everything the south wants within the federal system - peace, fiscal federalism, state police?, freedom of and of religion, free speech etc.

Almagamate the entire political structure of the South into one political party - the same way the south of US is a republican stronghold.
