You have no constitutional basis shining your lazy asses on those seats. Nigeria have promote a culture of no accountability or responsibility, that is why public office holders can be bold to make this kinds of grevious statements Obviously a lazy talk. Only God should pay his salary... |

Sometimes, it's better to remain silent so people can think you're wise. When you're everywhere thinking you know so much, you definitely don't know jack. These people did more than they are currently doing for Bubu but in the end even Bubu himself admitted he failed the nation. Now they are going about it again. History just love to repeat itself. |

That alone should tell you that everything is not rosy. I must have missed this news. This is a new low! Its crazy to even imagine that the president is sending the senate president on an errand, its honestly weird and unbelievable. What happened to seperation of powers. The legislature are elected just like the executive. I mean in no way should the senate president sub-par, kowtow, bow or submissive to the executive, they exist in their different lanes according to constitution and democratuc norm the world over. Just the thought that this happened us giving me headache. What happened to checks and balances. Nigeria is literally cooked. Its so painful. Even a WAEC student of govt know these how much more at that level. Okay, we know you have pocketed the judicuary but It's so shameful and painfully sad that someone who should keep you on your toes is doing boy-boy for you. Seems people dont even understand this low we are currently in. Its sickening. We're really cooked. I find it so hard to process. |

Keziehenry: Quadratic equation curve Everything you learn in school is not meant for real life application. They are meant to test & expand your brain capacity and reasoning. When the brain is well tested, it becomes easier to apply it to solving complex tasks in real life. Unfortunately, most jobs in Nigeria don't really require tasking the brain. We leave almost everything to God. If you try to 'push' yourself in a workplace, your colleagues may even call you oversabi. The brain then start to die slowly and thats why we rarely innovate or invent in Nigeria. |

Bananapill: Country of particular concern indeed. Some of the areas we need to protest is to ensure dangote gets crude before shipment is done abroad. If government refuses to listen, we block every channel through which crude oil leaves Nigeria. We seal pipelines and ports, if we cannot get fuel at cheaper rates, then the government will not earn forex. As a result of the crisis, China and some other countries have temporarily suspended crude exports to focus on national consumption. What stops Nigerian government from doing something similar by also suspending all crude exports and sell only to local refineries pending when Iran war is settled. That does not exactly constitute contract breach (better still, rework the terms) As a parent, your children cannot be hungry at home and you're giving food packs to orphanages. It's simply called national interest. Nigeria govt is very dumb and irritating. |

Politics › Re: What Does The Strait of Hormuz Have To Do With Nigeria's Rising Petrol Prices? by ThatOndoBoi: 7:32pm On Mar 08*. Modified: 8:20pm On Mar 08 |
Dangote's business is refining not exploration. Crude is raw explored oil -- from which several other derivative products are made. Dangote refinery imports most of the crude it refines especially when NNPC stopped selling crude to Dangote.
NNPC is in charge of overseeing oil exploration in Nigeria. Most crude are sourced in the Middle-east and Russia (which augments local supply).
Strait of Hormuz is the most accessible and efficient transportation route for shipping from the East to the West and back. Alternatives for oil are pipelines owned by Saudi Arabia and The UAE but they have limited capacity. The alternative route is really not an alternative.
Now a lot of Nigerians are asking what relationship exist between war in Iran and and petrol price in Nigeria. Here: since Dangote refinery imports crude, a disruption in supply will affect price (excess supply = fall in price, lesser supply = price increase.
If we source all our crude locally (of which we have in abundance) or if Dangote has licence to explore crude, then we may be excluded from the supply shocks and pump-price summersaults.
Disclaimer: I'm not into oil and gas and dont know a lot about the industry. My opinions are purely economics and common sense. |
