The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is arriving early next week (October 17th), but it looks like Xbox One users will get some new software toys soon, too. Microsoft has released the Xbox One fall preview update to everyone on the Delta and Omega Insider rings, that is too say, the bulk of its beta testers. Those folks will get the much-anticipated Fluent Design for Xbox One that lets you customize the dashboard the way you want, pinning favorite games, apps and people to the home page.

There's also a redesigned Home menu and "light theme" coming, and Microsoft is speeding things up by removing splash screens when you switch between sections like social and games. It's also unveiling a spruced-up community section on the dashboard, with a full-screen activity feed and comments. Game hubs, profiles and clubs have also been refreshed for faster navigation (a full video preview is shown below).

The update should be available to all insiders and will start downloading automatically if you use Instant On mode. You can also head to the "Console Info & Updates" section under system settings if you'd rather do it manually. As mentioned, there's no official launch date yet for the Xbox One fall update, but expect it to arrive around the same mid-October timeframe as the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Hey guys good to be here, planning to order an xbox one console from Amazon U.S next week but want to clear up a few things first.

1. When I purchase it and do the initial update, if power goes out, does it resume when the power comes back on And same with games?? My swift allows me download for free at night want to be sure I can pause and resume if I need longer than a night to set my rig up or download games.

2. Do I have to worry about the ntsc or pal thing?? I plan to order my games or even download online

3. WHat internet speed is suffiecient for online gaming?

i would try my best to answer ur questions to the best of my abilities

1) For updates i doubt it can be paused as the console is unuseable during the update period . and i also wld advice doing updates with a gen on to prevent stories that touch .or better still u can download the update file unto a flash drive and install from the flash drive offline .

as for the games being downloaded, yes u can always resume ur download. i am currently downloading mad max and have being on it for over 2 days now.

2) No, u dont have to worry abt Pal /Ntsc all dat is old news. but u have to take into consideration the xbox store u wld want to be affiliated with. i am using the US xbox store.

3) As for the speed anything over 200kbps wld do fine for online gaming. ur greatest challenge should be latency issues which i suffer when i use smile network to play games like battlefield and call of duty. i now use Glo as their netwrk is better in my area and takes care of the latency issue.

U may not really need a step down transformer as my xbox one s supports voltage from 110-240v. my advice is dat u check and confirm.

A 23-year-old man, Daniel Isong, who allegedly escaped from a hotel without paying for beer and pepper soup he consumed, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court. Isong , whose residential address was not provided , is facing a three-count of obtaining under false pretences, breach of peace and stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp. Victor Eruada, had told the court that the accused and one other person at large committed the offences on Sept. 12 at Urban Hotel located on Yaya Street, Ogba, Lagos. Eruada said the accused fraudulently obtained bottles of beer and plates of pepper soup worth N21,800 with the promise to pay after consumption. He said Isong attempted to escape from the hotel without paying for them. “He was, however, caught with the help of a waiter who intercepted him, and he was immediately arrested. The offences contravene Sections 312, 285 and 166 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, according to the prosecutor. Section 285 provides for three years jail term for stealing.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty. The Magistrate, Mrs G. O. Anifowoshe, granted the accused bail in the sum of N25, 000 with two sureties in like sum. She said that the surety must be gainfully employed and should show evidence of two years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government. The case has been adjourned till Oct. 16 for mention.
